First of all, hello friends. My issue is briefly as follows: I want to transfer incoming calls to an Android device to an iPhone. I have two phones, one Android and one iPhone. What I want to do is instantly transfer incoming calls and SMS from the Android device to the iPhone and be able to make calls from the iPhone through the Android device. What I want is something that the devices already support (like Android Auto or CarPlay). I have several different methods in mind, but I haven't found an app or a method that can do what I mentioned. It could be done using one of these methods: 1. Incoming calls to the Android device can be transferred to the iPhone via Bluetooth. 2. If we use the Android device only as a tether and connect from the iPhone via Wi-Fi, I can make and receive calls and SMS over Wi-Fi (presumably VoIP) even when the iPhone is not registered. I can do this by getting a twin SIM card, but when the Android device connects to the phone network, the iPhone becomes inactive, meaning it only needs to connect to the network for internet like a mobile Wi-Fi. 3. The simplest solution, which I can't find, is to transfer incoming calls and SMS to my iPhone via a third-party application. This request may seem strange to you, but unfortunately, if you don't register the device in Turkey (which costs approximately 1000 USD), you can only use the device with your SIM card for 8 months of the year.

### How can I allow alarms to sound off while my phone is in a calling state? When I'm not in a call alarms sound as you'd expect them to. When I *am* in a ( Skype, Discord, Phone ) call the phone simply plays a "beep" sound instead of actually sounding off the alarm. I have the Phone call alerts setting "notify during calls" enabled, but it doesn't seem to have any effect whatsoever. I'm using the default clock app for the alarm, so it's fairly unlikely that it's an issue with the alarm registering itself with the system as an alarm ;p I'm tentatively confident that this only started after updating to Android 6, but I don't actually have anything factual to back that up. If it helps, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900V I've spent several hours researching this and thus far I've been unable to locate a solution. I feel like it might be related to an Android in-call audio policy, but I'm hoping it's not ( because that would mean that it's not something that I can change. )

Is there a way to get my phone to not vibrate during calls? I want it to vibrate for various notifications when I'm not on a call, but it's a bit startling with my phone up to my ear. I've found a few SMS apps that can do it, but I'm hoping for something general, across all notifications. Upon further testing, it seems that my phone (Moto G, Android version 5.1) doesn't vibrate during a call by default. But sometimes, it messes up and allows the notification vibration to go through.

In Android 16, how does one get Google Assistant to recognize and call locally stored (non-synced) contacts? When trying to use Google Assistant to make calls by saying *"Hey Google... Call \"*, it always responds with *"Sorry who do you want to call?"*, and then pops up a pane that states *"Pick a contact"* that, when tapped, just opens the Contacts app. The pane also shows *"Call \"*, where *\* is the correctly spelled contact name, indicating that the problem is not a voice recognition issue. What's been tried: - Fully updated everything (apps, Google Play Services, Android). - Reluctantly enabled many permissions for the Google app, including: Call logs, Contacts, Microphone, Notifications, and Phone. - Within **Settings > Apps > Assistant > General**, enabled: Google Assistant, and set the Preferred input to Voice. - Within **Settings > Apps > Assistant > Personal Results**, enabled: Personal Results, Lock screen personal results, and Personal suggestions on lock screen before you ask. Please note that I also tried making calls using Google's AI Gemini Assistant, but it always says that it is still being developed and cannot currently make phone calls. This question is related to, but different from, this old question: [How do I navigate to a contacts address using my voice?]( https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/92859/how-do-i-navigate-to-a-contacts-address-using-my-voice)

I've been looking into this and reading articles for the last hour or so, and haven't come up with anything. The simple version of what I'm trying to do, is when my kids are grounded or at school that I'd like to turn their smartphones into a dumb phone. They need to be able to call my wife or myself in case of emergency, call specific contacts if we're not available, but not chat with all their friends. If someone can point me in the right direction for where these controls are located I'd very much appreciate it. The 'Phone' app is not listed in FamilyLink under the apps I'm able to 'always allow' and there's no way I can see for me to limit calls to specific numbers. I'm totally open to third-party apps if there's a paid solution to this out there.

Now, both landline numbers (in São Paulo and otherwise) and mobile numbers from other states have 8 digits, while São Paulo mobile numbers have 9 (in addition to the optional area code that's 2 digits). I'd like 8-digit numbers to be formatted like 1234-5678 and 9-digit numbers formatted like 123-456-789. Is this possible? I am trying to use a USB DAC with my Android head unit. While it works well with most apps, it doesn’t output sound when making Bluetooth calls. I did some research, and it’s said that because the mic is used during the calls, the system handles the sound differently. It mentions that there should be settings to force the Bluetooth call sound to be output through USB. However, I couldn’t find the settings and also couldn’t use apps mentioned like Lesser AudioSwitch, for they are not supported in Android 9 and later. Anyone can help shed some light on the matter? Much appreciated.

1. This is not a proximity sensor issue. The proximity sensor works as expected during normal calls and speakerphone calls. 2. This is not a screen timeout issue. The screen timeout is set to 10 minutes. It always turns off within <45 seconds. as expected during normal calls and speakerphone calls. This is infuriating. I don't understand why the screen should turn off after any amount of time other than the screen timeout setting when on a speakerphone call. Usually I'm navigating automated menus and it goes out a second or two before I'm ready to input the option. A simple tap doesn't wake it either I have to pick up the phone and press the power button. This is with a Samsung Galaxy S10e. How can I make the phone respect my screen timeout settings when on speakerphone calls?

The phone is an INOI A54 on Android 13, stock ROM, rooted with a recovery Magisk patch. There is this black bar in the middle of the screen, at the top, that appeared when I got a call. A black box at the top of the screen in the middle with a phone icon *A black rectangle in the middle of the screen at the top with a phone icon inside of it* After the call ended, the bar stayed and could not be removed. Upon clicking on it, it launches the dialer app via some "DIAL" intent/action. This bar is really annoying, and I would like to know what setting or app causes it to appear. What I've tried already: 1) Looking through basically all notification settings 2) Uninstalling the dialer app 3) Changing dialer apps 4) Killing any processes I could find that are remotely related to the calling activity 5) Checked the accessibility settings, nothing useful there, too. 6) Also tried to search for "overlay" and "quick access" in the search bar, nope. And I still could not fix it. The only "solution" is to reboot, but I'd have to do it every time someone calls me. I think that something that can be tried is checking the UI layers in some kind of debugger and then searching by package. That would solve it, I think, but I don't know any. So, what I'm asking is: 1) If this bar can be disabled by changing some setting, then what is it, and where do I find it? 2) If it can't, then what app/process causes it? So that I can kill/restart/disable it.

This seems a regular issue to a lot of people without a true fix. The bad sound quality when in a call through the Discord app. For what I can understand, it is caused by the channel: the "phone sound channel" or "call mode". It seems that Discord had an option to switch between the two modes, but that option has been removed. So I'm looking at a more drastic solution: disabling the call mode channel entirely, and forcing every app to push their audio to the communication mode channel. Is that possible? To me, this feature does not make any sense anyway. Why would you need a channel that not only lower every sounds you are listening to (including the voice of the person you are speaking with) **as well** as lowering the audio quality of your own microphone. If someone is knowlegdable about why such thing exist, I would be very curious to know the explaination. On a practical sense, this feature confuses me a lot. And funny addition: I use an app to track the kilometers I do during my walks. For every kilometers done, a voice announce the number, the time, ... When the voice is speaking, the channels are switched and the quality is suddently perfect. When the voice has finished, everything goes back to 2000 phone call quality. It shows that the phone is perfecly capable to handle the sound and that another app can trigger the switch.

I use my phone (a OnePlus 3 running the stock ROM and Android 7.1.1) as my primary internet connection. This means that I make heavy use of wireless tethering, especially for work. The trouble is, whenever my phone rings, regardless of whether I answer it, wireless tethering gets disabled. If I use USB tethering, I have no such problem, but wireless is much more convenient. I previously came across [this answer](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/112419/14562) , but it doesn't apply to me. I've never had a phone that was unable to simultaneously use phone and data. When I'm on a call, I can enable wireless tethering with no problem. It just gets disabled for no good reason whenever I receive a call. Note that the issue is _not_ the connection technology (WCDMA, VoLTE, carrier support, etc.) This is absolutely impossible, since the fact mentioned above that I can manually re-enable tethering while on a call, coupled with the fact that I have full access to data while on a call, disproves any such theories. This is why I started a new thread instead of using the old one I linked to above. **Is there any way to prevent wireless from being disabled?** Failing my first question, **I would also accept a method to make my phone completely ignore incoming calls during specified times so that they couldn't disable tethering, so long as I kept internet access and text messaging.**

I'm thinking about tasks like rebooting, turning off, or factory resetting the phone. Google's "Find My Device" offers some related features, but as far as I know, they only work when the missing phone is (still) connected to the Internet.

It used to be possible, a few Android updates back (can't remember which Android version), but not any more it seems, at least not out of the box. I've tried the stock Clock app, Ovo Timer and Timer (by Opoloo). In all three cases alarm signals are only played as expected while not making a phone call.
