I have a Pixel 3a with Android 11 installed on it. I have a lot of **notifications**, like *SMS, Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook*, etc... all beeping all the day. I would like to remove *just the **sound*** of all these notifications, letting them vibrate, flash... whatever other things it does... However, the ***calls** should not be muted*, I would like to have normal sound when someone calls me (via normal call, or via WhatsApp, Messanger, Viber, etc). I can't believe at this day is not possible a thing like this on Android 11... The idea is not to manage all the possible applications individually, but to **mute all NON-call sounds** in general on the phone, except "long calls" (phone and messengers calls, wake-up alarms, all calls that are waiting the user to 'finish' them). I suppose there should be a more standard solution than this tricky one . I think there should be a setting like SilentNotifications On/Off, if such thing is not present, it should be (Google tracker issue created)

How to mute ad sound by default?
While I do want to support developers of apps by watching adds, their sound volume very often is disturbingly louder than the apps themselves and it always takes some time to find a mute button. How can adds be muted by default without blocking them entirely or muting the entire phone?

I don't mean I want to mute the ringtone, and I don't mean I want to mute my own microphone. I want to mute the sound of the *other person on the call*. When I use the volume control during a call, I can put the slider all the way down to zero but the call is still audible - either the slider only acts on the ringtone, or the slider is capped at a minimum (non-zero) volume level. How do I make the call completely silent? (For context: I make calls using a relay service, where I type, and a remote assistant speaks and types the response back to me. This service involves making the call on my phone, so I still get the sound of the people talking - I want to silence this.)

On the Galaxy S9 (and I presume later versions, though I don't know for sure) there is a "mute all sounds" setting that can be toggled by pressing the power and volume up buttons simultaneously. While this can be quite convenient, it's also very easy to either forget to disable it, or to enable it accidentally in the first place, and then you miss important alarms and notifications until you notice. Is there any way to get a visual indication when mute all sounds is enabled, such as a status bar icon or making the perimeter glow a certain color? Yes, I know that you can _check_ whether mute all sounds is enabled by pressing either volume up or volume down, which will show a greyed out volume bar with a caption that says "Mute all sounds is turned on" if it's enabled, but I'm looking for some kind of visual indication that alerts you that it's enabled when you're not actively thinking to check.

I recently bought a phone that came bundled with android 5. It is a ZTE Blade S6. I also have bought a Senheizer MM70i which has one button. I am sure that the first few days if I pressed the headset's button during a phonecall the action would end the call. Then I tried the jetAudio Basic music player and now it seems that when talking on the phone pressing the button mutes the conversation instead of hanging up. Is there a way to revert that?? I have tried installing "Degauss Headset control center" but the application states that single button action is indeed to answer/end call, so I cannot alter the action through there. Is there any other (perhaps low-level) way? Thank you

**Is there an option to manage sound notification behaviour on a Android phone?** *Description:* In the morning, I do watch YouTube lectures, but every minute or so I do receive Slack message, that mute the voice in the video for 5 seconds. It is really annoying, and hard to listen the lecture. **How it should be:** Option 1: Allow a notification to interrupt the sound/video stream without muting it (so the 'bip' would overlay/merge to the sound stream, but the video would continue). Option 2: (the current system state): Mute the application, but do not stop the video (very annoying)! Option 3: Mute the application, but stop the stream/video/music. I know that there are some option to mute the phone (manual), or install an app (automatic), but I do not wan't do mute the notification itself. I do want to hear it, just without muting the sound/video/music that is currently playing! My system Android 5, Samsung Galaxy S5 Greetings Jakub Related topic: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/103106/disable-notification-while-watching-videos-or-listening-music

Also, Facebook and other apps have those pop-ups ("Chat heads" ), which are really disturbing. Is there any app that can prevent them to appear on my screen ?

I have seen the Question: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/13352/is-there-a-one-click-widget-to-make-my-phone-completely-silent and this is not a Duplicate Question. In my, Samsung Galaxy Y phone, when I completely reduce my volume, it goes to the "Vibration" mode. Turning the volume down again after the "Vibration" mode appears has no effect in my phone. I have look around and found no option to mute at all. My Question is whether is it possible to completely mute an Android phone without downloading/installing any extra app? Doing everything mentioned in: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/8573/what-is-the-fastest-way-to-turn-the-phone-into-silent-mode?rq=1 puts my phone to "Vibration". I can't believe that there can exist a phone in today's world without such a basic feature.

I tried denying microphone permissions for the game (Phone permission wasn't required in there). Experienced this issue in Call of Duty Mobile, Head Ball 2, etc. Does Game Turbo have anything to do with this issue? I can still hear them while gaming, whereas I'm muted until I exit the app.

I have a gmail account and I am getting too many inbox notifications. It wouldn't work to create a blacklist, because they come from many places. I would like to whitelist 3 or 4 senders and only receive notifications from them. Thank you.

So, for a few days I have been having problems with my microphone on video call or call with loudspeakers. I tried Whatsapp video call, Whatsapp voice call with loudspeaker, Zoom, and Google Meet and the problems are same: my voice cannot go through, while I can hear other people's voice. I tried using mic checker app and both my microphones are fine. I also have tried recording video and audio and they both work just fine. I also have checked the applications' permission and they do have permission to use my microphone. Last time, I tried zoom meeting, and muted my **speaker**, and my voice went through. However, when I turn on my speaker again, my mic cannot pick up any sound. Is there a way I can fix this so that my speaker and my mic can be on at the same time?

I installed Android P once it got released for Google Pixel phone. But they changed how you mute your phone. Now there is the option to put your device on vibrate/mute on the bar that appears when you change the volume and then there is the "do not disturb" option. In Android 8 you had as option to change the "do not disturb" option to "total silence". How do you recreate this? When you have "do not disturb" on stuff like YouTube, it still plays sounds; same for the Whatsapp message sound. Muting on that bar thingy still lets calls through and both together *seem* to work out but i cant be sure. I don't want my phone to go off in meetings so I hope someone can give me some insights.
