Will a right-angle charging cord work with my Galaxy S10+ in a Tech21 case?
just bought an S10+ and am buying a Tech21 case for it. I'm also looking at buying a right-angle charging cord (this is my first phone with USB-C port). I can't determine what the depth of the port cutout is from specs on Tech21's website. Here's a screenshot of the charging cable requirement: [

I recently acquired a pair of Galaxy Buds to use with my Galaxy S10+. I am using them to listen to Spotify at work. Everything is working fine except the lowest volume setting is a bit too loud. If I were to turn up the volume to 25% then it would be blasting.
I looked around in the system settings and the Galaxy Wear app settings but I don't see any option to adjust this.
Is there a way to decrease the overall Bluetooth audio volume so the lowest notch isn't so loud?

I often face the following problem: an old person, absolutely not tech-savvy, is using an Android phone and is not contactable anymore because he/she has inadvertently muted its phone which doesn't ring anymore when one calls him/her, or has turned it off and doesn't know how to turn it on again. More generally, he/she has inadvertently changed any setting, the change leading to more difficult use of the phone for him/her.
I would like to prevent that kind of issue by forbidding that kind of changes and ideally, natively. That is, without installing a new app -- because I saw apps allowing macro programming or even remote control, but I don't want processes running on that person's phone, nor do I want to control his/her phone on a regular basis to reinstate correct settings. (Except if there's no reliable native solution.) The phone in question is a Samsung Galaxy S10+ under Android 12.
Is there something standard regarding this matter?

Pressing the side button again turns the screen on, and asks the user to swipe to continue:
I neither have nor want biometrics on my phone.
What is the canonical way to disable the swipe-to-open screen so that pressing the side button goes directly home?
Using adb to change the settings would be fine.

When I edit photos using Google Photos, the edited pics are stored in a folder
DCIM/PhotosEditor
. But the thumbnails for these pics that are displayed in other apps, such as Instagram and X-Plore and Files, show the old, unmodified versions. The new edited versions are displayed when I click on such a wrong thumbnail, but not before.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e with Android 12. I have searched how to clear the thumbnail cache, but the instructions usually refer to a .thumbnails
folder, which doesn't seem to exist on my system (showing hidden files is enabled of course.)
How can I fix the thumbnails of my edited photos?

I tried to change the logo that shows at boot, but it seems that I messed up and now my S10e is stuck on bootloop. The logo does not show at all and it reboots every 3 seconds (you can tell by the startup vibration). I cannot get into recovery mode nor download mode no matter how I tried (since the boot logo is normaly shown before entering one of these mode). The phone was running LineageOS 20, with Lineage Recovery installed and was rooted with Magisk 27.
Is there anything I can do or it's the end ?
Thanks for your responses

Genymotion: Why is Android version 9.0 the highest I can use on an S10 emulator?
I'm trying to replicate an issue a customer is having on their Samsung Galaxy S10 running Android version 11. When I spin up an S10 emulator, the highest Android version I can use is 9. Does anyone know why this would be, and if there's a way to get higher versions?

When I first started learning about installing custom ROMs like LineageOS, it wasn't long before I was made aware of the security implications involved, particularly with unlocking the bootloader. The rooting is not as big an issue in itself once the custom ROM installed from what I know. The ROMs come with things preinstalled and configured the way they should be. Rooting more risky for security on a non-flashed device, but in the case of installing a custom ROM, it's still important to know the implications of leaving the bootloader unlocked.
The device I had at the time was a Galaxy A20 and not officially Lineage supported. Being my first Galaxy device, I noticed this new feature set called Knox. From what I know about Knox it is a hardware-based security scheme. This sounded like something pretty fail-safe to me when I first heard about it, and something that would probably be better left alone.
When I first learned that rooting has the side affect of affecting your device's security, in the particular case of my Galaxy device, Samsung Knox was one of the first things that crossed my mind. I can only assume that rooting the device would nullify most of the benefits of the Knox security platform.
It was at this point I decided that, as much as I may want to de-Google my phone, until I upgrade to an officially supported Lineage device, a custom ROM would probably not be ideal for my case with the A20 running Samsung Knox, due to the security implications involved.
For context, I'm a longtime Tracfone user and have never invested much into my mobile device. The last couple phones I've owned have had enough limitations and missing features to persuade me to upgrade early. I finally decided to step it up and upgrade to a Galaxy S10e. This device is officially supported by LineageOS, but being a Galaxy model, it still has Samsung Knox. I am excited to finally own a custom ROM officially supported device, but again, my primary reason for upgrading was the storage space and feature set. I'm still trying to weigh the benefits between testing Lineage and giving up Knox.
Perhaps a Pixel with Graphene would be a better device to de-Google but I am new to custom ROMs so between what I learned about having an unlocked bootloader and the benefits of running Samsung Knox, I've sort of reached a point of needing more info on Knox. I don't really know the specifics of what I'd be giving up by rooting a Knox device. I am aware of some of the soft features such as secure folder and secure WiFi. That's about it though. Some reviews even indicate it might not be all it's played up to be. But this page from Samsung's website has me pretty sold on its ability to block advanced attack methods by implementing government grade-security. Reminds me of some new PC features like secure boot and core isolation.
I need to ensure my device's data is protected and safe if lost or stolen. Some of what I've read has made me wonder if this is even a use case for Knox. It seems like it according to Samsung though. It then occurred to me, "can I 're-lock' the bootloader, so to speak?" If I were to do this, would it be at all comparable to my formerly Knox-secured device? Is it even possible?
That's when I discovered that Android has something called user-settable root of trust . The problem with locking the bootloader after flashing a custom ROM is the risk of the bricking the device. From what I can tell, this is where user-settable root of trust comes in. On certain Android devices, the user can add the new ROM as a valid signature when the device boots.
So in summary it appears one thing I can be sure of is that if I root a Galaxy device, I will be giving up Samsung Knox because the Knox Warranty Bit will be tripped. But perhaps there is a way to either encrypt the device or implement user-settable root of trust, depending on the device. Would such a device keep its data secure if lost or stolen and how well would this compare to stock ROM running Knox?

I have a Samsung Galaxy s10 that I recently had to replace the non-removable battery. The original was needing to be charged every 2 hours! I went on Samsung Members app and did a diagnostic test which confirmed that I did indeed need a new battery. The exact results were "Battery Status: ACTION REQUIRED battery life weak. Replace because battery is old or in bad condition." So I had someone replace the battery. It's working alot better however when I did the diagnostic test again I got the same results! Also Google sent me a notification to "finish setting up my new device" and gave me the restore your contacts option etc like when you get a brand new phone and need to connect your Google acct for the first time. Is this normal after replacing battery?

I left it like that for a good half hour just in case.
The only thing I can do now is reboot by holding Vol Down + Power. **I cannot get into recovery mode nor download mode**, no matter how many times I try the key combinations (Vol Up/Down + Bixby + Power) - it just goes back to that screen. I was able to do both before installing the crDroid 12 ZIP. Is there anything I can do to recover this phone?

When I connect my phone to my Macbook, I see a popup saying I need to allow permissions on my phone (see screenshot).
So I click 'Allow' on my phone. Now the error popup still stays while the main window shows the content of my phone. But I am unable to click on the main window because the error popup is still open.
When I click OK on the error popup, both the error popup and the main window closes together and the error popup opens again with the 'Allow' confirmation on my phone. If I click 'Allow', it all repeats over.
See the GIF for what I'm talking about.
Model - Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
Android version - 12
One UI version - 4.1
Mac OS version - 12.6
Android File Transfer - I think it's latest but can't find the version as the popup blocks me from checking the About menu.
Is this a bug with the Android File Transfer? Is there an another free app that I can use to transfer files?

A few weeks ago an error message popped up on my phone:

> foreign material in your charging/USB port. Check your charging/USB
> port for any foreign material such as dust and debris. To prevent

> clean, the moisture is gone, and the notification is cleared.
The issue is that the phone was laying on my desk when the notification first occurred. There was no water near the phone and it never got wet. I used a can of air to clear out any possible dust but there was none that I could see. I have tried to restart my phone but the notification has not cleared even after a reboot. I do not want to poke around in the charging port with a pair of needle nose tweezers.
The only way the phone will charge is wirelessly which is inconvenient, especially in the car. I believe that this is some type of bug in the script considering it popped up out of nowhere. I do not want to factory reset, is there a process that could clear this manually through the operating system?

I purchased a USB C thumb drive to make transferring images off my phone (Samsung Galaxy S10) a little simpler. However, upon being prompted for the "Charging Connected Device Via USB" for "USB Settings", USB is controlled by "Connected Device" instead of "This Device". I still went into my developer options and changed the "Use USB For" default so I can "transfer files/Android Auto". However, I still can't successfully change "USB Controlled by".
It prompts me to "Restart Your Phone", stating "a USB storage device was removed unsafely. To prevent your phone from restarting unexpectedly, save unsaved data and restart now"... but it won't allow me to switch, and restarting has no effect.
This USB only does this when attached to my phone - my computer doesn't have the same issue. Formatting the USB had no effect, and I couldn't find any saved connection in my phone to delete to see if it would forget this setting.
I have tried looking into this issue and I can't find any help online.
How to reverse the USB controller so that the thumb drive is controlled by "This Device" instead?

I have a Samsung S10 phone with Samsung Dex. Dex is fun and can (sometimes) be quite useful.
With it, I can use a desktop environment on my phone, like I would on a computer.
My workplace is equipped with a wide range of Dell docking stations.
For some reason, some get recognized by Dex. And some do not.
For instance, Dex works immediately with the WD19 , but not with the TB16 or the WD15 .
My questions: is there a (good) reason why not? How can I fix it?

Gentlemen,
Two problems I'm facing in WhatsApp in Samsung S10 (fully updated)
1- Whenever I open WhatsApp settings, a message appears "backing up your messages" once it is completed and I try to go back to chats and starts again and again for 3 to 4 times then I can come back. (Backup settings: Never and not able to link it to any google account)
2- In any chat, the text box at the bottom is hidden and I cannot type anything, the only way around is to reply to someone then hold the phone horizontally and then I can type and send.
This is really disappointing especially that I just switched from iOS to barnd new Samsung S10 to find these issues!
(Note: I used a WazzapMigrator to get all my WhatsApp data from my iPhone).
