I have a Samsung S10 phone with Samsung Dex. Dex is fun and can (sometimes) be quite useful. With it, I can use a desktop environment on my phone, like I would on a computer. My workplace is equipped with a wide range of Dell docking stations. For some reason, some get recognized by Dex. And some do not. For instance, Dex works immediately with the WD19 , but not with the TB16 or the WD15 . My questions: is there a (good) reason why not? How can I fix it?

I'm trying to figure out the best setting for my Android 5.1 phone during my working hours. When I'm at my workplace, my phone is constantly docked and in set to the Priority mode (this is automatic). When someone calls me, I get notification on the smartwatch. I set up Hangouts to vibration only and let it notify me in Priority mode (it is in the exceptions list). I don't like the vibration of the docked phone, which may distract my colleagues, especially given the fact, that the only vibration I need is one of my smartwatch. At the same time I believe the smartwatch notifications are duplicates of phone notifications and if the latter are disabled, the former get disabled too. Is there a possibility to disable docked phone vibration notification, while left smartwatch notifications intact? Any other suggestion to set up the phone in a workplace-friendly manner?

Galaxy tab charging dock stops charging when USB device is attached

I recently bought this charging dock by Brodit for my Samsung Galaxy Active 2 (v. 3.9.0) with Android 9: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00UASMT2Y/ . I was hoping to constantly keep the tablet running at a fixed place. If I put the tablet in the Charging dock, it starts charging as it should. If I now connect an OTG USB device (namely a SkyController 2 for a Parrot Drone), the dock seemingly stops charging. A measurement of the current between dock and tablet seems to confirm that. The charging symbol in the tablet still stays on since the SkyController delivers the usual 0.5A. Of course, this is not enough to compensate for the energy lost, so the tablet's charge slowly decreases. Is it really usual behaviour that connecting a USB device disables charging through the dock and, if yes, is there a switch in Android to change this? If this is really not possible, is there another solution to keep the tablet charged while using a USB device at the same time? Thanks in advance

I have an Asus EEE Pad Transformer TF101 Android tablet and docking station. It came with Android v3.2 installed, and I have since then upgraded OTA to 4.0. I haven't used the dock much but it used to work. Recently I did a factory reset, because I intend to sell this. But now, the physical keyboard of the docking station is not working. The tablet shows the docked indicator when docked. The touchpad works. The extra battery works. The USB ports work, but not the keyboard. The virtual keyboard is showing hardware keyboard ON when docked but keypresses does nothing. If I move the slider to OFF then the virtual keyboard is working. I have reset a few times now and the same issue remains. What happened, and how can I try to fix this?

I have seen some other questions but the answers are not helpful in my situation for various reasons. I am trying to recover contacts, pictures, etc. from someone's Galaxy S4 that they did not have backed up. The phone still powers on and has sound but the screen does not turn on and nothing can be pressed. I took the phone to AT&T but they said that they needed the screen to turn on in order to transfer. I've heard that the Samsung dock should work, but it seems that you still need the screen to work in order to use the dock. Can anyone give me ideas on how to retrieve the information from the device?

**Context:** I have a RAZR MAXX XT912 with 4.1.2 (3.0.8-gbacb1cf). As soon as I wake it for any reason, it immediately acts as if it is connected via HDMI, despite the fact that no cable is connected. Many people have this problem, and it is usually a result of a software issue or a shorted connection somewhere in the HDMI hardware/plug that results in a phone thinking it is docked. For me, it occurs constantly (some people experience it intermittently)--as soon as I wake the phone from sleep/non-lit states, it immediately rotation-locks itself into widescreen and presents me with the docking choices menu. **Question:** Is there some way to permanently disable HDMI dock detection? **What I've tried:** - I've tried the "HDMI Connection" setting; whenever I uncheck it, the phone goes back to normal. However, leaving it unchecked doesn't work: if I restart the phone with it unchecked, the phone acts as if it's docked when it starts again, and I have to go into settings, check the box again, and then uncheck it before the phone behaves. The phone also periodically "forgets" what that I've unchecked the setting (without a reboot), and I have to go check/uncheck it again. - I've tried clearing all application caches, to no avail. - I tried clearing the cache partition, to no avail. - Finally, I tried a factory reset, but the symptoms persisted. - I've fiddled around with a hand lens and a needle inside the HDMI connector, but couldn't observe any shorted pins and didn't manage to affect the symptoms at all.

I put everything together -- I plug power supply into the dock, I put tablet part into dock 2. Tablet part gets power from AC outlet, not from battery 3. I need to go, I pull out tablet from dock, I leave dock and power supply on desk 4. Tablet part works on its own battery 5. I get back home, and cycle repeats -- (1) The crucial part is, I don't charge tablet directly, but indirectly, via dock, which itself is powered with power supply -- of course this is my wish, **the question is** -- is it actually possible with Asus Transformer?

I'd like to change what happens in productivity mode. I don't need two calendar views, for instance, and I'd like to have the Gmail app on the right side, instead of messages, and I'd like music instead of the camera app. Does anyone know how any of this can be modified? I'm happy to spend a few dollars on an app if it will be able to take over from the built-in one when I put the phone on the dock.

I feel like I must be missing something. I got the Xoom dock from Verizon along with my 4G upgrade (The turn around on the whole thing was 1.5 days, and the 4G is amazingly fast, so, definitely don't put that off if you have that option), and it powers the device AND plugs a USB connector into it (making it kind of tricky to seat correctly on the dock, since the connector is a micro USB). However, the dock doesn't appear to have a USB pass-through, so, it acts EXCLUSIVELY as a charging station! So... why the USB plug and if all it's going to do is charge, I may as well just keep plugging it in! Am I overlooking something?
