How to enable drag status bar from lock screen?
I have Hisense AD686G running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. I can't pull the status bar down in any type of lock screen (slide, pattern, PIN, etc). I know almost all ICS phones out there have this feature, strangely my phone doesn't. How do I enable the status bar dragging on the lock screen?

Any idea how do I decrypt the traffic going through the HTTPS route?
I installed the FiddlerRoot.cer on my phone through the default browser. Still no luck on decrypting the HTTPS traffic.
P.S : I am talking about traffic from apps, and not through the browser. My Phone is running ICS and is rooted.

In particular, I am wanting to do this for media playback than notification sounds, but information on either is beneficial.

I've read https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/18008/recovering-from-forgotten-lock-pattern which states that there is an option to disable the lock using my Google account information. However I did not noticed such an option when I entered my _password_ five times wrong. (Although there was also a 20s or 30s delay to complicate brute force attacks.) I use Android 4.0.3 on a Asus Transformer Prime TF201.
Would factory reset work?

I have two legacy Android 4.0 Garmin Monterra devices. It's not possible anymore to open the Google Play Store or some websites. When I open most of the websites with Chrome, I receive an SSL error 107. Some websites with HTTPS or HTTP are possible to open. I'm guessing that there is an issue with the CA certificates.
I found this solution [Update trusted SSL root certs in AOSP](https://stackoverflow.com/q/68587205/2821954) , but it's not possible to copy the certificates to the devices. I tried the ADB-Shell but without any success (permission issue).
Is there any solution to update expired certificates? Is it possible to convert the ca-certificates from the .0 file format to any other possible format and to import over the SD certificate import from Android 4.0?

I am having a problem with music playback stutter on my Galaxy Nexus, and after searching about it for a while, it seems the problem was fixed on update 4.0.4.
Unfortunately, my phone is still on 4.0.2 and no OTA Update is currently available.
From past experiences with my Milestone, updating or using a ROM that was not originally from my country (Brazil) resulted in various problems, including no 3G connection and very poor GPS signal.
Is it possible to actually update the Galaxy Nexus manually from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4? If yes, is there a way to know which "version" of the system would be compatible with mine?
Here's the "About Phone" tab on settings:

The recent apps list in Ice Cream Sandwich added the ability to swipe apps out of the list, thereby dismissing them permanently (and as far as I know this is a vanilla function, not a CM/custom ROM one). The documentation and platform highlights don't appear to cover the under-the-hood workings of this functionality, but I'm curious to know what the system is actually doing.
Further adding to my curiosity, I decided to do a quick test: I started up Music on a CM9 install, then backed out of it. I then checked the recent apps list and saw it was indeed there (and in the proper state, based on the thumbnail). I then went into
Settings->Applications
and force stopped the Music app, but it was still listed in the recent list, leading me to believe it's not connected to processes lingering in the background.
Realizing now that Music may have been a poor choice, I also tested with the USA Today app. This exhibited basically the same behavior, and it seemed like it was forced to "relaunch" after the force stop (which makes sense) though the thumbnail in the recent apps list didn't reflect this (cached, I'm guessing?).
So, what actually happens at the OS level when you swipe an app out of the recent list? Does it simply clear the app's data out of RAM and garbage collect it, destroying its saved state?

## **Question summary:** ##
Why am I experiencing these issues (not being able to connect to the above-mentioned websites), and how can these issues be resolved? Can you help me test what I think is causing the issues?
---
## **Proposed causes:** ##
1. **Perhaps the reason I cannot access these sites is because they are in use by the phone?** If that is the case, I am not sure how to test it. So far, when I "force-stop" and "disable" an app like LINE, I still cannot connect. So, I thought: *it's possible that the phone is reserving the app's networking info, somehow.* **So, I went so far as to uninstall Line from my phone and reset the phone and PC. Still unable to use Line on the PC. Furthermore; Skype works simultaneously on PC and Phone.**
2. **Perhaps it's a PC or OS issue?** I still have yet to tether my phones to a different PC or OS.
3. **Perhaps it's a DNS issue?** I still have yet to test this, but I believe I get a similar error with OpenDNS when trying to access localhost.
4. **"Activate EasyTether or use it with UDP and secure sites BLOCKED**? This message appears at the top of Easy Tether's settings screen. I'm very curious to know whether or not this is the cause. It seems highly likely.

I have an **Asus Transformer TF101** that is running **Android 4.0.3**.
The tablet can connect websites in HTTP without issue but not in HTTPS.
**Most HTTPS websites are totally unreachable.** Some websites (from large institutions) are reachable after accepting several certificat issues warnings, but display badly.
The clock of the tablet was set correctly.
I assume the issue has to see with how the tablet is able to deal with certificates, and also with its aging native Internet browser (which is not apparently not Chrome).
**I unsuccessfully attempted upgrading the tablet firmware**, but got an error message "**Internet connection error or server busy**. Please wait and try again".
I assume this issue could be caused by disabled upgrade server and/or SSL certificate issues.
**Is there still a way to upgrade such a tablet**, preferably without jailbreaking it?

After updating my UK HTC Sensation to Android 4.0 I was keen to try out Face Unlock. I'm happy to say that it works *reasonably* well, however the setup process has led to me having a query.
When setting up face lock, after your face has been captured for the first time and setting up your backup access, you are given the following prompt:
> #You've Finished!
To unlock your phone, just look at it.
>*Tip: Improve face matching by having your face captured in different conditions*
The tip sounds good, however it doesn't actually tell you how to have your face captured in different conditions! After clicking OK to the prompt you are returned to the security menu and any attempt to re-set-up face unlock just seems to over-write your previous settings (or at least I assume it does as it asks you to set up a new backup system).
How can I recapture my face multiple times to improve face recognition?

Because of "reasons" (or at this point mostly out of curiosity) I find myself with an old Wiko Iggy phone running Android 4.2.2 that after being factory reset is unable to install anything at all from the play store. Searching for specific apps in the store returns only books or movies, searching for apps in a browser and opening the relative page on the store shows the app all right, but tapping "install" only goes so far as showing the permissions overview; agreeing and trying to install produces a "no connection" error (of course the phone is connected to a WiFi network and logged in into a google account).
Is there anything I can do? My suspicion is that I should somehow recover an old APK for play services and install that, but I'm not sure how to do that.

I'd rather not clutter my phone with 3rd party apps for camera since I don't use it much, but I'd like to have AF for my random quick snaps.
Any tips?

I've recently been given a **Prestigio Multipad PMP3370B** (Android 4.0) which I thought would be nice for my daughter to watch videos on. I took an 8GB micro SDHC card from my Windows 7 laptop (NTFS format) and put it into the SD card slot but it wasn't detected.
After a bit of a read I tried formatting it as FAT32/exFat and inserting it but for both formats when going to the system settings screen > storage screen there is no card listed and no option to do anything.
So I have two questions:
- How can I be sure the SD card is inserted correctly? It seems like it wants to slip out
- How can I get an SD card working with this device
I don't want to go out and get a new SD card until I'm sure it works correctly as otherwise it would be a waste of money.
