Are contemporary Android face-recognition implementations fully executed inside a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)?

The AOSP biometic guidelines state that for class 2/3 biometrics:
> Biometric acquisition, enrollment, and recognition must occur inside
> the secure isolated environment to prevent data breaches and other
> attacks
I can see this being feasible for fingerprint-based biometrics. But I'm quite surprised that the entire process of facial-recognition on for example, a Samsung smartphone is all happening inside the TEE. That would presumably mean image capture, detection of features, preprocessing, biometric template generation has all been ported to what I'm assuming is a resource-constrained environment, yet it typically runs within a fraction of a second.
I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this niche area and confirm whether all the processes in the pipeline occur in a TEE, or whether there is in fact a hybrid system wherein some image processing is happening outside of the TEE.

Does face unlock work with sunglasses?
I'm thinking about getting new glasses, the kind that gets dark (like sunglasses) or clear depending on the amount of light they get so they are supposed to be dark on the outside and clear inside. I think my actual question is: can you set up Android face unlock to work with "sunglasses"?

So, if I disable faster recognition my phone cannot be fooled by image/video? How can a simple camera decide whether it sees a real person or a photo/video?

After updating my UK HTC Sensation to Android 4.0 I was keen to try out Face Unlock. I'm happy to say that it works *reasonably* well, however the setup process has led to me having a query.
When setting up face lock, after your face has been captured for the first time and setting up your backup access, you are given the following prompt:
> #You've Finished!
To unlock your phone, just look at it.
>*Tip: Improve face matching by having your face captured in different conditions*
The tip sounds good, however it doesn't actually tell you how to have your face captured in different conditions! After clicking OK to the prompt you are returned to the security menu and any attempt to re-set-up face unlock just seems to over-write your previous settings (or at least I assume it does as it asks you to set up a new backup system).
How can I recapture my face multiple times to improve face recognition?

How to make a phone locks automatically when seeing someone's face?
I just want to ask if is it possible to make my phone lock when it sees person A's face. It's reverse to unlocking my phone. It should work on all screens, whatever I'm doing, does that mean the camera is always accessed?

We are using our tablet together with my wife. I have added another user profile to the Android tablet (Samsung Tab A7, Android 10). I have switched to her account and we added her face for the recognition.
Question: is there a way to directly unlock the device with either of our faces? Otherwise the experience is awful. I need to turn on the device, click on the profile icon on the top right, catch the correct user in 1 second (otherwise screen turns off), then do the face recognition.

My Honor 10 has facial recognition capability in the dark, I suppose it works like Apple's Face ID which would rely on and IR camera and an Infrared pattern/dot projector.
So, since the Settings app and the Screen lock app can access those sensors, could it be possible to activate/ access those sensors data in another custom built app (on a Rooted smartphone) to use it for 3D scanning objects or simply recording the face of the user in order to 3D print a functional facial recognition "key"?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.2 stock, and I'd like to use the facial recognition in addition to drawing an unlock-pattern. This works fine, my face is recognized, but after that, only the dots of the unlock-pattern disappear, meaning I still have to swipe the screen in order to get to the home-screen (where the icons are). I'd like to go to that screen directly when my face is recognized, without the swipe-part. So what's the clue getting rid of that? If I have to swipe, faciol recognition is useless in my opinion, because if I swipe the screen or if I swipe a pattern makes no real difference. So how is this intended to work?

I wonder because the code is open source and I assume any other competitor would not restrict this feature just because it's not perfect yet. I mean: There are still quite a few other things that also do not work perfectly.

After following a liveblog of the presentation where Google announced Ice Cream Sandwich, one of the more interesting features announced was the ability to unlock your phone with your face. As in, the front facing camera is able to determine if the person in front of the camera is the owner of the phone.

What is the rate of false positives and false negatives for this feature? Can it be fooled by a photograph of the owner of the device? If it fails to unlock automatically, is there a fallback password/pin mechanism to unlock the device?
