Disable swipe lock screen on Galaxy S4 running JellyBean

Every since my Galaxy S4 phone was upgraded to Android 4.3 (Verizon), I have had a problem disabling the swipe lock screen. I go to Settings -> My Device -> Lock Screen -> Screen Lock: - If I set the option to 'Swipe', I get the swipe lock screen, as expected. - If I set the option to 'None', I **still** get the swipe lock screen. - If I set the option to 'PIN', I get the swipe lock screen **and** the PIN lock screen. (It is annoying to unlock the phone, and more so when I receive a call.) I test this by using the power key. Is there a bug in the software or is there no legitimate way to disable the very annoying swipe lock / swipe lock screen? Is there a 3rd party way to allow a PIN lock without having a swipe lock as well?

I need to know the camera preview and picture resolutions that the Samsung Galaxy S4/S4 Zoom (SM-C101) supports for its rear camera. I'm building an application that does real-time image processing on the frames received from the camera. By default, the highest resolution is set which makes the processing very slow. So, I want to know what resolutions are available so that I can set a range within which to select from at runtime. I noticed that some common lower resolutions aren't supported on the S3, so I had to increase the range. So I need to know if I need to change it for the S4. Someone on Stack Overflow has created an application which records this data and makes it publicly viewable here (archived). I guess using this would be easier than manually looking up the resolutions.

It is not only bad for my data plan, but is also time consuming. I monitor data usage, it is not just re-rendering. On my Nexus 4 (Android 5.0), applications in the background keep content for an hour or more. It is quite strange, as they have the same amount of memory, 2GB. Is there a setting for this? How can I avoid unnecessary reloads?

How to watch lectures in Adobe Connect app when I can't find Flash 11.2 for Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.1?

I want to watch prerecorded Adobe connect lectures on my Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0.1. The problem: when I try to play them through a browser (I have tried Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin, and the default browser on android) and through the [Adobe Connect](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.adobe.connectpro) app I downloaded from the Play Store, I'm told every time that: > Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 11.2 or above. > > Adobe Connect requires the Flash Player plugin, version 11.2 or above. Please download and install the Flash Player to continue. I have successfully gotten Flash 11.1 on my phone, thanks to a tutorial I found through Google search using the Dolphin browser. Obviously, that is not 11.2. I did search Google on how to get 11.2 on Android but I could not find anything useful. From Adobe's official site it's not compatible with my device. Specifically, I want to watch lectures like [COP1000 Lectures Fall 2013](http://burtondsc.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/84306340/lectures_cop1000_fa13.htm) (but for the upcoming semester - same concept) I have even tried adding a link from that page to the Adobe connect app but with no luck. If there is anyone who can help me in any way get access to these lectures on my phone that would be amazing. Even if it means finding a way to convert the lectures to an mp4 or other video format. (I tried searching that on Google too)

Is it actually a virus or it is a problem with the Google Play Service? I have tried disabling the Google Play Service but the message keeps appearing. I have Norton Mobile running on my phone to pick up on viruses and to alert me to any possible security issues and also Lookout. They haven't picked up anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Someone put CyanogenMod on my T-Mobile Galaxy S4. So I tried to unroot and return to the original by watching [this Youtube video](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEJSv9MrVAg) and using this method. This is what I have gotten from the phone: Odin Mode Product Name: SGH: M919 Current Binary: Custom System Status: Custom Knox Kernel Lock: 0X0 Knox Warranty Void: 0X1 Write protection: Enable eMMC Bust: Mode: Enable Start [224, 1440] in red SW REV. CHECK FAIL : fused : 4, Binary: 1 in red. On the PC screen, in red, it says **Fail!** In the message box, the last line read: All threads completed: (succeed 0 / failed 1). Now I tried to reboot the phone, I got the same Odin Mode thing plus: CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0X30 minus the two lines in red. In the middle of the screen, a phone, a yellow triangle with an ! mark in the center, a PC screen. Below says: "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." I have no phone now. I know I didnt reset binary flash. So people told me to format and reinstall the OS. Please help me to go back to stock version.

I changed the password for my Gmail account a couple of days ago. Since changing it, my Galaxy S4 cannot load the webpage. Whenever I try to load Gmail in the web browser, it gets stuck loading and reloading the webpage, though no content ever resolves. I've been trying to load the page daily for about a week now with no success. I thought it may have the old password saved on my phone, but I enter the new password on the step before loading the page. Tips?

My Samsung Galaxy S4 showed "SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystems". It then gave me the option to format my SD card, to which I reluctantly consented. After having done so however, it proceeds to present me with the same message, "Blank SD card", regardless of how many times I insist in formatting. After searching on Internet, I found that apparently I should format the SD card from my computer. I don't have an adapter for microSD cards, so I connected my phone with a USB cable to my computer, and apparently my SD card refuses to show up there. Also, for your information, it seems that neither my phone wants to recognize the SD card, for example if I try to transfer apps to my SD card my phone tells me I don't have a SD card. So, is there anything I can do to resolve this issue? Should I buy a microSD adapter and hope that my computer will recognize the SD card then, or should I just buy a new SD card? Or is there something else I can do?
