I've allredy tried clearing app cache and clearing cache and dalvik from recovery, I even changed kernel but everything is still same.. Edit: when device is freshly booted I can play videos on YouTube and from storage and Instagram, but when try to play any video in Chrome it becames unresponsive and after that I can't play any video anywhere - app freezes.

I recently bought a Nexus 4 and I would like to transfer my photos of my previous device to it. My previous Android phone used the standard USB mass storage which gave 0 problems to copy back and forth stuff, but the Nexus 4, like many other modern Android phones I suppose, uses MTP instead, which has the interesting feature of refusing to copy the original dates/timestamps of the files, using instead the date at which the files are being copied. This is obviously a huge bummer when it comes to photos; not only because one cannot check the original date at which the picture was taken while browsing on the phone, but also because they end up completely unsorted. Is there a way to transfer photos to a Jelly Bean Android phone that doesn't support USB mass storage preserving the original timestamps? Things I've tried so far: - Transferring via USB MTP - ADB push (both full folders and individual files) - Transferring via SSH (using SSHDroid + WinSCP) - Uploading and downloading from Dropbox - Transferring a ZIP file via MTP and uncompressing the file on the phone - Transferring from the other phone via Bluetooth None of them preserved the timestamp, and this is driving me insane. (Also, I am not rooted yet, but if the only viable way requires root I would welcome that answer as well.)

I have a damaged screen and touch digitizer on an automotive head unit. I am trying to access the diagnostics menu for the unit (Honda Clarity 2018 PHEV non-touring), but the touch input keys are not (to my knowledge) among the standard Android keyevent codes. Is there some way to pull these directly from the head unit itself? I have root on the unit, and I did find some keyboard data files but the enclosed keyevent codes don't appear to all be functional, and it isn't clear from the descriptors which keys would match with the necessary inputs (Power, Menu, and Screen Brightness, the first two of which are not the standard Android ones). EDIT: here's a picture of the keys in question. Note that these do **not** correspond to the Android generic equivalents, e.g., keyevent 24 & 25 will invoke the Android native UI's volume control, but not the same as these keys; same for the rest of the keys. photo

I have a Carbonn Phone (model: A18+) http://www.karbonnmobiles.com/karbonn-A18+-proid-193.html Android Version is 4.2.2 Under Settings -> Storage -> 'Preferred install location' and it has three options for it: 1. Internal device storage 2. Phone storage 3. Let the system decide there is no option for "External storage device" but below Preferred install location there is another option: Settings -> Storage -> "Default Write Disk" and it has two options: 1. Phone storage 2. SD Card I have "SD Card" selected here But I don't have choice to choose SD Card or External storage to install apps and when I install any app from 'play store' that goes to either to phone or to internal storage. Even after going to the Settings -> Apps -> I only see 4 tabs Downloaded | Phone Storage | Running | All there is no 'SD Card' or 'USB Storage' tab and when i tap any app here it only shows "Move to Phone storage" or "Move to Internal Storage" on 'App Info' Screen. My question is How can I move or install apps to External SD Card. I have tried many apps like APP2SD or similar ones. But no app gives me to move apps to SD Card. Even I have tried rooting my phone, that also doesn't work.

My old Gingerbread phone would let me have a low volume for notifications while having a high volume for ringtones (very useful at night). My new Nexus 4 seems to have these volume settings tied together. Is there any way to separate them? I'm running Android 4.2.1 stock. Have looked at a Nexus 7 running 4.1.1 and it has separate volume streams so this looks like a phone specific bug/feature. **Update** Tried various apps but couldn't fine one which separated the Ring and notification audio streams. In the end I downloaded the Cyanogenmod notification sounds , selected the ones I liked and processed them to -10db and -15db versions. Then copied them to the 'Notifications' folder on the phone. (The phone looks at the title tag in the mp3 file rather than the file name so needed to change that as well.) I now have the ringtone as normal but a quieter version of the notification sound that doesn't wake me at night or sound ridiculously loud in meetings.

As you probably know (https://faq.whatsapp.com/1150261202542208) , Whatsapp is not going to support Android 4 phones from 23rd of October this year; the minimum supported Android version will be 5.0 I want to move and merge all my conversations and files from my old Android phone to my newer one (they both have been used with the same phone number). Unfortunately, I don't have any Google Drive backups on the old phone. Also, I hadn't done any other transfer/migration to my latest phone. I remember that when I'd installed Whatsapp on my newer phone, the application stopped working on the older phone. Old phone: - Android 4.2.2 (Samsung Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562) - Whatsapp 2.21.17.23 (installed from here ); - no Google Drive backups; - WhatsApp is no longer working (only on the old phone), since I'd installed it on my latest phone; - at some moment I had to install the Google Play Store 25.2.27-16 for the Whatsapp to continue running (installed from here ; more here ); it now displays "Your phone date is inaccurate! Adjust your clock and try again" (but the date displayed is correct) New phone: - Whatsapp 2.23.14.79 - Android 13; OneUI 5.1 Thank you very very very much!

My phone is an SKK Mobile Prime on Android 4.2.2. I accidentally deleted my Android device manager and other folders on my phone that I thought were not useful at all. After that, this message appeared on my lock screen: > System has been modified please contact the manufacturer, thank you! I can't unlock my phone without having to touch the upper portion of the screen where it will show you the time, date, and the setting icon for your phone. So, after doing so, I tap the "back" button or "home" just to see the phone menu and do stuff. I know something on those deleted folders has something to do with this. This has been my problem for 4 months already. I've been to different technicians, but all they do is charge me overprice. Can somebody help me?

When I pair the Bluetooth keyboard to a Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.2 the on screen keyboard is disabled. I cannot find a way to enable the on-screen keyboard from the tablet. Some Bluetooth keyboards include an 'eject' button which toggles the on-screen keyboard. I'm concerned about the times that I'm far enough from the Bluetooth keyboard that I can't reach it but still within Bluetooth range and I can't type on the screen. Is there a way on an Android 4.2.2 (or higher) device to enable the on-screen keyboard while a Bluetooth keyboard is connected?

I almost never take any close up pictures with my Galaxy Nexus (and when I do, it'd be more convenient to manually switch into some kind of macro mode). How do I stop the auto-focus from trying all possible focus positions every time I take a picture? Such behaviour makes me lose all the good moments that I want to capture in the first place (due to a focus delay of about 3 to 5 seconds), and often results with pictures being taken out-of-focus, especially at night or through a windscreen or something. Is there a way to disable such bogus autofocus?

Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 lite (SM-T110) OS: Android 4.2.2 I want to connect the device with my computer. In the developer settings I activate USB Debugging - but nothing happens. There is also no option to select the USB behavior. Even more: Unlike [this](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/67563/having-problem-in-usb-connection) case, my device doesn't even charge. There's a red cross on the charging-battery icon. What I tried so far: - The cable works with other devices (charging and data), so it's not that. - Factory resetting the device didn't help - There's a setting to connect media with Kies. But I doubt that would let me us adb for management. - In recovery mode, there's an option to install programs via adb. When selected, I'm told to install packages with sideload now. But neither adb nor heimdall manage to detect the device. - My laptop runs gnu/linux, so I don't assume it to be a driver issue. So now I'm turning to you ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks for any pointers*.
