In the bottom right corner, you’ll find a screwdriver and span icon. If you click on it, it will bring up the options for flipping the screen. The option you need is “Horizontal Flip” (The one on the left). I cannot find this screwdriver and span icons. Can you give me clear instructions on how to do this?

**Summary**: I want to stream Google Play movie from Android to HDMI/VGA/Composite TV, possibly through laptop. I have no idea whether it's possible or not but I'd really love some insight from some more knowledgeable people on. More in depth: I have a Galaxy S5, unrooted, that I absolutely love. First smart phone, I've been living off of a talk/text only phone previously. I also recently came home for the holidays to discover that my sister hasn't seen the Lord of the Rings! I figured I'd be smart, and use my Google Play account (with all three extended editions) to stream it through my laptop, and laptop to TV. Well, the internet here is very poor, I guess my parents get about .6 MBps? Anyways, video streaming kept buffering/loading, so I tried to move over to my phone, which has all three already downloaded into internal storage. Couldn't find a way to stream from phone to TV, the USB port wasn't gonna work. I don't have an adapter, but I do have my laptop. I tried pulling the downloaded .wvm file from the phone, but because yay DRM, that's a no go. I've done some searching, and while the AndroidScreencast project seems promising, it says it refreshes at about 5 FPS, so not very good for media streaming. So I have a phone, a laptop, and a TV. I can connect the phone to the laptop by USB or Bluetooth. Laptop to TV via HDMI or VGA. Is there any way I can play the movie on my phone, have it feeding the video to the TV/laptop, and then to the TV?

I listen to podcasts on YouTube frequently, and with YouTube Premium I can turn off the screen and keep listening. Typically when audio is playing and there's an interruption - say navigation instructions or a workout app reporting lap times - the audio will briefly pause then resume once the interruption is over. This doesn't happen for YouTube, presumably because it's not being treated the same by the system (audio channel vs. audio/video channel?), so the "high priority" audio plays overtop of the video's audio. Is it possible to change this behavior so videos (or at least their audio) pause during these alerts? On YouTube or across the system?

This is something that I've been able to do easily on a PC or an Android smartphone, but there seems to be something in Android TV (at least in version 9) that prevents it. I have video files in a remote computer and they are available for download through a HTTP server. On the PC or the Android smartphone I just enter the full URL (http://.../files/video.mp4) in a web browser or in VLC player, it buffers for a few seconds and then starts playing. But on Android TV this can only be used with small files. For bigger ones, it seems to be trying to download them completely (I see that by looking at the upload data rate on the server network interface). In a local network I would Chromecast it to the TV but they are in different networks. I tried: - both with the builtin web browser and with apps like VLC and MX Player, all of them try to download the whole file first - Different file formats, including MP4 with H264+AAC which I know that the builtin web browser can play - Different HTTP server programs - HTTP and HTTPS - serving the files with MIME types video/mp4 and application/octet-stream Is there anything more that I can try or is this impossible to do on Android TV? **EDIT**: This is an example request from the TV web browser:
GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: 192.168.1.133:9991
Connection: keep-alive

Perilous times... I have to be able to record/stream a video through my Android, just like anyone does to its local storage, but instead, directly to a file somewhere on the cloud. What's most important to me is, if while recording a video the recording stops, there's a guarantee that's what's been recorded till the last seconds is already in the cloud, and is a playable file. Realtime playable streaming is not essential. I want to make sure that while I'm recording a video I know that most of the video is already on the cloud, and the video extends while the Android phone is in the recording state. What are the solutions to this? Ideally, I want to be able to record to a shared directory on the google drive.

I am trying to avoid any kind of sexual stimulation and want to block video content on any browser. I was looking for browsers which provide this functionality but could not find one. These are the browsers which I found 1. Atlas Browser 2. Lightning Browser 3. No image Browser 4. Habit Browser All these browsers block only images in the browser. But I need a specific one which can block videos only. Finally, I found one such that blocks both images and videos but this functionality cannot be separated. The browser is Purity - Safe Porn less Browser. I want to know if this functionality is separatable? Can we block images and videos separately? This browser needs subscription ; so does anyone know about any such browser that does not support flash or video files. Important question : Can we practically block images and videos separately or are they correlated?

It obviously supports **USB-C to HDMI Adapter** which is only one side with Type-C port and another side with HDMI port cable. If S8 does NOT support **MHL**, what is the difference between "USB-C to HDMI Adapter" and "MHL"? Does "USB-C to HDMI Adapter" have worse video output than "MHL"? Thanks a lot.

On my Android phone, I run AirReceiver which mirrors the screen of my iPad connected to it via mobile hotspot. In the app, I can choose the player (VLC, the default player, etc.) to play this video stream in. I would like to redirect this video stream from the phone to my Linux PC via USB-tethering. Is there a way to achieve it? My current solution is to mirror the phone's screen with the video running in the foreground via scrcpy. However, the iPad's and the phone's screen have different dimensions, the resolution is lost and the video has to be cropped on the PC. I was thinking of using VLC direct somehow but I don't know how. Thanks for any tips!

Is it possible to create create a launcher icon that will start a certain streaming video URL in an app registered to the specific media type? (or offer the app chooser menu, in case there are multiple apps matching the content filter). In my case it is a M3U playlist URL pointing to a DASH stream and I would like to open it directly in a default app for the content type (i.e. mxplayer). I am aware that it is possible to create a launcher shortcut from Chrome or other browser via Add To Desktop option, but in this case tapping the launcher will open the web browser first and then will redirect to whichever app can handle the content type. Can this be done in a way that does not require a web browser? In broader terms, the question is how to create a launcher to a URL or local file that can be tapped from the desktop and would open in whatever app(s) can handle the content type?

I have a venerable Google Nexus 7 2013 (OS 6.0.1) that I still use. It works well - or did, up until a few days ago. One of the things I use it for is streaming - BBC iPlayer, ITV hub, All 4, youtube etc. It has been fine up to now, when all of a sudden it will not stream All 4. It will stream everything else and all other internet connectivity is fine. The local network is wifi (2.4/5GHz) connecting with a TP-Link ADSL router to Plusnet Fibre. Initially I though it was a temporary All 4 problem. But other devices (Android and PC) on the same network stream fine. First I restarted the app, then cleared the cache and data, then restarted the router, then I reinstalled the app, then finally I did a factory reset. None had any effect. The error is 'An error has occurred - Touch to retry'. Retry has no effect. Unfortunately I do not have access to another wifi network I can try. I am completely out of ideas. It must be software, all hardware appears fine. The summary is: - Nexus 7 2013 running Android 6.0.1 (not rooted). - Will not stream All 4 (UK). - Will stream everything else. - All other internet connection is fine. - Other devices (PC, Android) on the same network will stream All 4. - Resetting everything had no effect. - Worked fine up to 7-10 days ago. Any suggestion as to the cause of this would be welcome.
