Can the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 do video over USB-C to HDMI?
I called one of the companies that makes a USB-C hub with HDMI, and they said no. They said my phone does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode, but [the Samsung website](https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/i-smashed-my-screen-and-cannot-use-the-touchscreen-is-there-any-way-to-access-my-data/) shows an adapter like that.
I talked to Samsung reps, and they gave me a wide array of answers. From "yes", to "no", to "yours was an earlier model and only the new 10s support it", then back to "yes and no". Even got "it depends on your monitor". So I was hoping someone here has a real answer
How can I display my Note 10 on a monitor or TV? My Note 10 screen is broken, so I can't make any changes on the phone.

Can't Set Google TV to Game Mode

**Background**
I have an Nvidia Shield connected to my TV and have used it for many months successfully. This morning when I turned it on, the screen was flickering: it will change to showing the home screen for about 1 second then either a black screen or the "snow" screen for about 4 seconds, repeating. I have not changed anything recently like cables, tv, or any hardware.
**What I have tried**
I did look online and most posts regarding this are 8 years old or so and suggest trying a new HDMI cable, unplugging and plugging in a bunch of times, or that the resolution is getting off. I did try a new cable and different tv but same issue.
When I boot it into safe mode the flickering goes away. If I try to change to any of the available refresh rates, it works fine in safe mode still but same behavior once I restart out of safe mode again.
I even tried a full factory reset and still have the same behavior.
**Question**
I am open to any suggestions for those who have had this issue before. My question is how do I fix the flickering behavior? More than likely it is a resolution issue, and maybe it is linked to some sort of recent firmware upgrade? I was not notified that there was one any time recently though.

I'm working with an InForce 6540 board that has 5.0.2 Lollipop installed.
I am trying to connect a display device that has a max resolution of 720p at 60hz. I am using a micro HDMI connection.
The 6540 detects the display as a 1080p dislplay and uses that resolution.
I tried to change the resolution with adb root.
-----------------------------------------
adb shell cat /sys/devices/virtual/graphics/fb1/edid_modes
( to check which modes the display device supports)
adb shell setprop hw.hdmi.resolution 13
(or other supported number, checked the .cpp file to see what each number means for resolution.)
adb shell stop
adb shell start
-------------------------------------------
This did not work, and I tried it on a different display device that supports more resolutions, and it did not work either.
I have also tried the command
wm
, but that only resizes the amount of screen it is currently using. (It scales versus changing actual display resolution)
My display shows static on the bottom half, and on the top, it shows the whole display but cut. The right side of the display is cut and displayed on the left with everything shifted to the right.
Any help would be appreciated. I know this is not a normal problem.

I have a Motorola Edge 20 Pro. Till about 8-9 months ago, I could connect an unpowered (Without a separate power adaptor) USB C Hub to the USB port, and connect a HDMI cable to the hub. This would allow me to use the phone as a media hub and project on the screen connected to the HDMI cable. I believe this was part of the "Ready for" feature
I have recently tried using this feature again, and it refuses to work. When I connect an unpowered USB hub to the phone, the "USB controlled by" settings go to read only mode as "Connected device" and I'm unable to use the hub in any manner. Connecting to a powered USB hub just charges the phone.
Trying to change the USB preferences to "This device" fails with an error message.
I have tried the following as of now:
1. Tried cleaning out the port
2. Tried with 2 different adapters
3. Tried with my work profile disabled
4. Tried safe mode
Looking for any other options to debug this issue and get HDMI out over USB C working

I want my Android phone to recognize my PC as its external display (psuedo/fake or virtual displays) via USB connection (USB-C - USB-A cable or TCP connection) without using any USB to HDMI dongles or wifi display like miracast either.
I think I need to find or write the app/software or driver on PC side which have USB protocol like any real USB-C to HDMI display to communicate with the phone. Do you have any suggestion or guidelines?
Thanks,

Trying to get as much control as it's possible from the TV's *(LG LF630V)* remote for the connected **Chromecast with Google TV.**
The HDMI-CEC definitely works on Chromecast, as e.g., **→ ← ↓ ↑ [OK] [Back]** buttons are received from the TV remote. The problem is that I need even more (e.g. *[Home]* button is not implemented), so I've tried to intercept HDMI-CEC commands from **Logcat entry,** using *Tasker.* But absolutely no **[HdmiCecControl]** entries do appear in *Logcat,* unless (rare) CEC errors.
What I'm doing wrong? Should I explicitly enable HDMI-CEC entries in Logcat? If so, how sould I enable it? Or there is a missing permission here? Any help would be welcomed.

Is there any way to mirror the screen to the TV from USB-C to HDMI (I have an adapter) of the TV? In particular, I'm interested in a solution for Xiaomi and TV that does not have Wi-Fi. Xiaomi screen casting in setting looks like it works only via Wi-Fi. If it's an app, preferably open source, or at least no registration and minimum of ads.

I need to display a portrait-mode app from my Samsung Galaxy S9 on a horizontal PC screen. The PC screen is able to rotate to portrait mode, but the problem is that the image rotates with it. The image is always displayed horizontally in regards to the PC screen. This means that when the PC screen is horizontal, the image is displayed in portrait mode in the middle of the screen, covering only a small "pillar".

When I rotate the PC screen to portrait mode, the image rotates with it, leaving the same "pillar" covered (though now rotated 90°).

What I need is for the image to be displayed in portrait mode while the screen is in portrait mode (meaning the image is rotated -90° when the screen is horizontal, making it utilize the entirety of the screen).
I've contacted Samsung, and they say there are no settings on the phone that allows me to do this, so I'm looking for an alternative solution, such as an app or other third-party clients. I've also read somewhere that I have to root my phone (and change some codes?) in order to achieve this, but that seems way too advanced for me. Alternatively, I could use my old Huawei P9, if that helps.

With my note 9 I pressed the page up button and was able to see home screen. Samsung says the phone needs to confirm on the screen. Note 9 did not do that. Another rep say its a power issue again the time is correct. They don't have a correct answer for me. Another says older phones showed lock pattern on monitor and new ones don't.
I seen youtube videos of people accessing the lock screen on monitor. They just draw the pattern using mouse.
How do I move from the clock and lock icon to the lock pattern draw screen?

It obviously supports **USB-C to HDMI Adapter** which is only one side with Type-C port and another side with HDMI port cable.
If S8 does NOT support **MHL**, what is the difference between "USB-C to HDMI Adapter" and "MHL"?
Does "USB-C to HDMI Adapter" have worse video output than "MHL"?
Thanks a lot.

I'm trying to set up a nice little Android 7.1 system to attach to my TV using an HDMI cable, though I'm having a bit of trouble with the resolution. I'm getting a black border around the screen.
This is what the laptop screen looks like without any black border
I've plugged in another laptop that has Windows installed and noted down the resolution which is 1280x768. I've also found the corresponding VGA values both 16 and 32. 1280x768x16 =
I've typed scan to get the video modes available, but there are no resolutions that match the aspect ratio of my screen. I've tested the ones listed, but they still either don't take up the whole screen or match the aspect ratio.
The below image shows a list of codes that I have found.
The laptop I'm running this on is pretty old, but with Windows or any of the other Linux distros, I've found I have no problem.
System Specs
Is there any way of getting around this? Or am I going about this the wrong way?

888
and 1280x768x32 = 889

When I add either of these to the menu.lst
file, I get a message on boot stating that I'm using an undefined video number.

My Google search brings up articles of how to cast video from the Android device through HDMI. I would like to wire and direct HDMI into the Android device's display.
Questions:
===
Assuming there is a cable that can bridge HDMI into the Android device: does Android support wired HDMI capability? What is the nomenclature for the capability?
Bonus: can the same thing be done from the raspberry pi's USB port? That is, direct the video out through a USB port, through a USB cable and into the Android device for display?

I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, and it's quite good... except for Samsung's software, which I would qualify as bloatware without hesitation.
I bought a cable that is able to move signal from USB-C ports to HDMI ports, and I connected my tablet to my TV using that cable.
The problem arrives when Samsung, in all its wisdom, refuses to just stream my screen, and insists on starting this Frankenstein thing of Dex. Even if the idea seems good, its execution is very poor, and all the software running on it becomes highly unstable, crashing all the time (when it does not have any problems running in basic mode).
And that's why I'm looking for some way to send my tablet screen to my TV while avoiding to activate Dex.
As an extra, I also considered using something like Chromecast Ultra, and in fact I did, but its streaming quality is just a disaster, and looses a lot of quality (hence my intention to go with simple cables).
Thank you for your attention.
