I have my very first smart phone - a Samsung Galaxy Y (2011 Android 2.3) - in hand and i wanna access it in a timecapsule kind of way to look around but its pattern locked.
So the issues:
- Gmail password is out of sync. No internet connection. Can i get in sync?
- Computer doesnt regonize the device. Assuming its a security thing because its locked. Can i get around it? If so might be able to use ADB or other software.
- Unable to install outside software from sd card. Gives out different error messages. Can go in detail if needed.
Im so lost and hope to get the data out. Its the only valuable thing about the phone.

About two weeks ago, my Motorola Droid Turbo on Android 5.1 Lollipop started popping up the confirm pattern screen for no apparent reason.

It happens like every 10-15 minutes whether I'm using the phone or not. My attention span isn't long enough to time it properly.
I took it in to the Verizon store and the guy played with some settings but that didn't help. I watched a process monitor to see if I could see anything spike CPU usage when it happened but didn't see anything. I've tried uninstalling apps but I hadn't installed anything new when this started. I've tried to confirm the pattern multiple times, and when I do it just goes back to the security options screen. I've tried changing the pattern to no avail, as well as setting it to PIN and then back. (I can't set it to no security due to a work app, unfortunately.)
Any ideas what could be causing this?

My Pixel 5 running Android 11, encountered a frozen screen when attempting to set the screen lock to none.
After the system auto reboots, the device prompts for unlocking the screen pattern. Even entering the correct pattern, the work profile consistently prompts for unlocking,
The issue seems from using One Lock to secure the device but not removing the screen lock pattern successfully.
>
Following a guide to delete locksetting files allowed successful access to the device. However, the **work profile prevents the opening of apps.**
Rebooting to TWRP (3.7.0_11-0) seems user 10's data is encrypted.
Also following https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/231415/how-to-decrypt-island-work-profile-and-parallel-apps-user-in-twrp , the same, does not solve the issue.
**Any solution to decrypt the work profile data without format?**
**Edit:**
According to the using-adb-to-change-the-screen-lock
I also attempted to remove the screen lock using ADB.
adb shell
locksettings clear --old MY_PASSWORD --user 0
locksettings clear --old MY_PASSWORD --user 10
locksettings verify --user 0
locksettings verify --user 10
both show **Lock credential verified successfully**
after rebooting to TWRP, user 10 still failed to decrypt

I have a Samsung Galaxy M12 which I forgot the Pattern lock of it and This has some very important data in it. So, Now I have been running around Internet for the probable solution but nothing worked like the Google Find my device also didn't work, The phone also does not have usb debugging enabled and No Backup as well. I remember it was android 10 or 11 when I last updated. The phone also get locked for 24 hours after trying wrong pattern for the maximum attempts and the phone isn't rooted.
Also I have forgotten the Samsung's account password. So, is there any possible way other than resetting the phone itself and throwing it away, as I don't want the pain of the data. I tried to use adb but realized there was no usb debugging enabled.

I tried to search for information on the internet and I also tried through software like dr.fone and it doesn't work because the model is not supported

**tl;dr** _My phone has become "bricked". After wiping all the data it regain normal functionality, but I cannot complete Android initial configuration due to phone stopping on selection of a screen lock._
_Am I correct that this is due to malfunctioning encryption chip or key store? That caused Android to not being able to read encrypted data in first place (when becoming a brick). And then to encrypt it again (after reinitializing Android)?_
---
Suddenly, out of nowhere (while resting in a pocket), my Redmi 11S has become a perfect brick. Unable to do anything except running over and over again into recovery mode. No option, except "Wipe Data", no solution found in the Internet worked.
I used "Wipe Data" and phone has become again operational. It went through all the steps of initial Android configuration and stopped completely on selecting screen lock security element.
No matter what I pick (password, PIN or pattern), I provide it for the second time (to verify), I tap next and phone stops there with nothing happening for the next many hours. It isn't hanged, I can always go back and select another screen lock solution, but I always hit the wall and phone does not continue after verification.
Since Redme 11S / Android 13 doesn't allow to have no screen lock at all, I cannot continue with installation / configuration of Android and phone is pretty much useless.
Am I correct that electronic chip that is responsible for encrypting data or key store has died in this phone?
My assumptions:
1. Dead encryption chip or key store caused phone to reset in first time and being unable to read (unencrypt) data and start Android in the first place.
2. No recovery option or solution could work, because all the unencrypted data in storage was seen as a total garbage
3. Wiping data removed that garbage and allowed Android to start, but it hangs on selecting screen lock, because it is unable to encrypt data due to malfunctioning encryption chip / key store / encryption solution.
Is the above somewhere near possibility? Or is it a complete false shot?
I am going to ship this phone to the repair shop, but I want to be able to tell them something else then just dully "I can't select screen lock pattern".

I have a OnePlus One that went dead 7 years ago with valuable photos (for me) on it. Had it repaired recently, but can't remember the pattern I used back then... Here is what I found out about the software and status of the phone:
- Android 6 with Cyanogenmod (probably version 13, maybe earlier)
- USB debugging disabled
- bootloader is locked
- not rooted
- no TWRP installed
I can get the phone in fastboot mode or in Recovery Mode. The options in recovery mode are:
- Reboot system
- Apply update
- Factory Reset
- Reboot recovery
- Reboot to bootloader
- View recovery logs
All solutions I found while researching was deleting/editing a file that contains the pattern. But that would need a phone with a custom recovery, which I can't install without wiping the phone.
I have a second OPO that was my brother's old phone, which I can use as a testbed to not lose all my data on the other one. One thing I tried with the second phone was to do a hard reset, root it and try to recover data that was deleted by the reset via a recovery software. Using Fonepaw was no success, but maybe there are different, better programs out there?

Is there a way to see the previous unlock patterns that I've been using before?

A few months ago, I broke my phone with a pattern lock. Until that, I had been using another phone and I used the same password. But months later, I changed the pattern and I forgot the previous one, which I used on my broken phone.
A few days ago, I have my phone, but when I try to put my pattern, it was incorrect. Now I'm trying different methods, like bugs or tricks, doing backup, and more, but none of them works.
Also, do you know a way to unlock the phone? Normally, I use the fingerprint, but anyways, you restart your device and it asks you for the password. It's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and I think the USB debugging is on.

So, I decided yesterday to change my pattern to something more complicated for terms of privacy. For my bad, I had such an awful day yesterday and I honestly don't remember the whole pattern. My fingerprint is also registered on the device, but it won't use it since I have my pattern set too. The related Google account and Mi account belong to me, and I have the users/passwords.
I've been taking pictures and videos for over a year without syncing in the cloud (dumb me, really). I've been trying to find my pattern by drawing what I remember for almost eight hours. I have an important amount of information that I care in my phone, like a concert I went with my brother and so on.
Initially my personal computer had the usb-debugging allowed and I tried some stuff with
adb
, like trying to pull my gesture.key
from my device for trying a brute-force attack for my pattern, but I was unable get my key since my phone is not rooted. I also tried to pull all my personal data from adb
but I needed to grant the permissions from my device, which I couldn't do.
I downloaded some of those trash-software that promise you to get away the pattern (by deleting the data, which is something that I don't want to do) and constantly updated my usb drivers it seems like in some point my PC got unauthorized for the usb debugging. So, some of the adb
stuff that I could try is discarded now.
I also tried to boot in recovery mode (stock recovery) and activated the safe assistant mode, but the mi desktop software did not recognise my phone. I tried to boot some custom recovery, but I don't have my bootloader unlocked. I took my phone to different mobile care centers, and they told me that only way to get away the pattern is by deleting my data, which again is something that **I don't want to happen**.
For now, I'm trying different patterns that kind of come in mind and registering theme to keep track of those which are not the right ones.
I'm desperate and running out of ideas. I'm a developer with knowledge on C, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and some others, so any developer-approaches are welcome. Also, I'm willing to offer rewards or pay for overcoming this.
My Device is a Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro.

I am using Lineageos 17.1 on the FP3 (the phone is not rooted).
I do know my screen pattern code (it is a 6x6 pattern), but I am not able to enter it correctly, because I disabled that the pattern is shown and that the sequence is visible.
In the recovery mode I can enable adb and I tried to delete the file
adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key
which worked in the past, but now this file does not exist anymore on Lineageos 17.1.
ADB unfortunately does not work when the screen is locked.
Is there another way to bypass the screen pattern? Doing a factory reset is the last option I want to do. Making the pattern visible should be enough in principle.

I'm running Android 11 on a Pixel 5.
I know about the
locksettings --set-pattern ...
shell command, but that command only seems to work in a 3x3 pattern space. For example, if the pattern is to start at the upper left and in a clockwise direction to touch each corner of a 3x3 lock-pattern square, I can set that pattern lock as follows (because the pattern dots are numbered 1 through 9) ...
locksettings --set-pattern 1397
However, my ROM also offers the option of 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6 pattern spaces (dots numbered 1 through 16 for 4x4, and 1 through 25 for 5x5, and 1 through 36 for 6x6). If I want to do the same clockwise traversal to the corners in a 4x4 pattern space, the numbers would be 1, 4, 16, 13. However, I don't know a way to specify these 4 numeric values to the locksettings --set-pattern ...
command.
Is there any way to use locksettings --set-pattern ...
in a 4x4, 5x5, or 6x6 pattern space?
If not, is there any way to run some other shell command(s) under Android 11 to set a lock pattern in a 4x4, 5x5, or 6x6 pattern space?
Thank you very much in advance.

Erasing the device will be the last resort.

adb
, but it's not showing up when adb devices
is ran. when i plug the phone in, it vibrates, so i know it's working and on. but i'm guessing since i can't authorize abd
on the phone (if i remember right, a popup happens) i can't interact. usb debugging was turned on a long time ago, as i used adb
on it several times recently. phone has a pattern lock and fingerprint lock. i tried a usb-c to hdmi cable, but nothing shows up on the monitor (nor when i plug it into my Pixel 4a 5G, but it does work on an android tablet i have, so i'm guessing the phone doesn't natively support it)

Not sure if it's a note 10 issue or an android issue. My note 10 screen no longer works. I connect it to usb c to usb hub with hdmi. The monitor now shows clock and lock. The time is correct. I press the buttons on my wireless mouse and move it around but no lock screen pattern.
With my note 9 I pressed the page up button and was able to see home screen. Samsung says the phone needs to confirm on the screen. Note 9 did not do that. Another rep say its a power issue again the time is correct. They don't have a correct answer for me. Another says older phones showed lock pattern on monitor and new ones don't.
I seen youtube videos of people accessing the lock screen on monitor. They just draw the pattern using mouse.
How do I move from the clock and lock icon to the lock pattern draw screen?

I just encrypted my Moto X (Gen 1) (KitKat 4.4.4) using the default encryption option from the Settings > Security menu. After the encryption process finished, it asks me, "Type password to decrypt storage". Only there's one problem: it never asked me for a password.
It seems I'm [not the only one](http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-x-2013/388088-encryption-gone-wrong-no-password.html) who experienced this. I've tried my Google password like 3 times, and, like that other poor soul, I haven't been able to find a way to map my pattern-lock to a PIN, which might be what Android used for the encryption.
For the mappings, I have tried a standard phone dial pad:
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
and a standard keyboard numpad:
7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
and a wild guess based on how a developer might do it:
0 1 2
3 4 5
6 7 8
Presumably, though not necessarily, Android stores that pattern as a string or number somehow. Given a certain unlock pattern, how do I find the string or number that represents that pattern?

My friend asked me if it's still possible to factory reset his Sony Xperia J phone in any way when the pattern code was entered 20 times and it locked itself. The only way to do it right now is to enter the answer to the question, but he doesn't even remember it. The second one's validating through a Google account, but he doesn't remember his credentials.
I tried the volume up/down/both + power button, didn't seem to work, the menu won't show up. I tried flashing it, but it's locked and when I tried to unlock it, writing the code in the emergency dialer didn't do anything too. Additionally, other codes didn't look like working too. No menus showed up.
Is it possible to factory reset this phone? I don't care about data loss, I've already taken both SIM and SD cards out where all the information was.
