My setup: - Nvidia Shield is connected to the TV - I use the optical out of the TV to connect two speakers - I use the Nvidia Shield remote to control the Shield volume out (not the TV volume or the speaker volume: just the Shield volume) This setup has worked just fine for years, but I recently changed my TV from an old Panasonic plasma TV to a QLED from LG and it doesn't work anymore. What happens is that I can change the volume just fine if I'm in the dashboard or if I play a file locally. But if I stream something (I tried Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+), the volume doesn't change and I get the pop-up saying that I have to go into settings and set up the remote control. This ONLY happens when streaming, and it did not happen with my old TV. I can change the volume just fine if I set the output to be the TV speakers instead of the optical out, but obviously that's not what I want. I have tried checking/unchecking IR, CEC, and HDMI fixed volume control in the Shield's settings but no luck. I also try to set up the remote again but also there, no luck. I'm looking for suggestions on how to be able to make it work also during streaming. Thanks!

I've 2 new Android TVs (Android 11) from different brands, and during the 1st power-on, several questions were raised and the search of channels and Internet was configured. However, I skipped to step of setting up a Google account. At the moment, the TV is working, but I can't see any option to set up a favorite list of channels. Unexpectedly, from Home, "Settings", "Channel", I can see only: - Parental controls - Open source licenses - Version In the past with other Android TV, I was able to set favorite channels without adding a Google account. Is there any option to manage channels?

I've got an LG Smart TV (webOS - not Android), hardwired to the router and I have a Samsung Galaxy A54 phone. What I thought would be a straightforward IoT service to allow you to set/pause internet-screentime of the LG SmartTV, ideally from anywhere, using the phone, appears difficult/impossible. In summary, this is what I have tried. 1) Using the router settings (access via 192.168.1.1). This provided very crude settings of time limits in blocks of 1 hour, that can be applied to the SmartTV-internet connection. When I set these times, they worked somewhat randomly (not triggering at the exact set times or not triggering at all). Also, there is no app for the phone, and access is only while using the network and using a web portal (e.g. Chrome/Edge) while on the network. 2) Googling this question mostly brings up links to Parental Control of Android devices (LG is webOS-based). I tried to use the Android Parental Control app on my phone. It appears the app wants to pair with a device that has the app installed. However, the LG webOS is not Android-compatible. 3) Looked for apps on the LG webOS shop to control the internet connection. This did not provide any obvious solutions. I've run out of ideas. Is there any solution (hardware, software, or combination) where I can control the screen time of Internet TV? [I am happy to consider using a hardware item (e.g. Chromecast) to put between the router and the TV if such a solution is available/possible]

Recently, I have seen TVs announced as official Android TV (Android 11) with Chromecast built-in. But these TVs are hardly usable without setting up a Google account. However, I am aware of TVs with Android 9 completely usable by adding a Google account, that includes a media player/web browser, access to external storage, and even a specific store for apps. I can't find a comparative but at least I found some differences and big limitations: - The lack of a preinstalled web browser - A limited and restricted Play, no Chrome or Firefox - Not possible to install APKs from external storage - Some apps installed from APKs are not recognized by the default launcher (requires a sideload launcher) Is there information about all the limitations introduced by Google? Is it possible to move to standard Android/Play? Would future updates of Android TV remove potential installed APKs?

I just bought a new Smart TV, FOX 32AOS430E, to be precise and had some issues with it the other night with my USB drive. I needed to put a large movie on the USB drive, over 4 GB, so I formatted it to ext4 and then when I tried to open it in file manager, it says can't connect to USB. So, I reformatted to ExFAT because I read that Android TV supports that format, alas my TV doesn't, or at least my file manager doesn't, and then I try another flash disk in the end that was Fat32 and that one worked. I can't put my huge movie on FAT32 and can't find anywhere what formats the TV supports, I guess it's not as common as Sony or others, not even a manual online other than what I got in the box. Edit: I tried ext4, the TV couldn't connect to that one, I have Linux, that's not an issue, but I refuse to believe that Fat32 is the only supported system?

We are using BenQ Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs) at school, and we are having issues with updating the apps. The firewall rules we have set up *should* bypass all authentication, but when it comes to updating the apps, the download either just hangs (i.e. when using DMS) or immediately fails (when attempting a download on the device). System version updates work without issue, but a reset will not "download" the system version, this must be run off a USB instead. We have reserved the DHCP IPs (both Wifi and Eth) and assigned them to the firewall rules listed below (provided by BenQ): |App |URL/DNS | |-------|-----------| |EZWrite |https://ezwriteupload-eu.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/
