I have a 2019 nVidia Shield Pro that I have historically used as a low power Plex server, but I've been experimenting more recently with some proper game streaming from my PC.
The problem in short is that when streaming from Steam, the mouse lag makes any game unplayable. Controllers (both a shield game pad and an Xbox Elite controller) are pretty good and even shooters are fairly playable. The mouse and keyboard is seemingly fine in the shield native android OS. What else can I try to address this?
From searching online I've seen the following recommended and I've tried:
### 1. USB interference ###
Apparently USB3 can throw off interference that messes up other devices. I've seen 2 fixes suggested:
- Switch USB mode into "Compatibility" instead of performance. This did nothing for me.
- Remove other plugged in devices that might throw off interference. Removed the HDD I was using as my server and still nothing.
### 2. Network latency ###
The PC is connected to my router via a set of Powerlines, and speeds are usually very good. The shield I have tried both wirelessly and ethernetted to the router and it didn't seem to make much difference. Steam Link routinely scores the connection as "Good" anyway, even over Wifi.
I've also tested on my Mac and the Steam Link experience is considerably better than the Shield.
I've also heard that Sunshine + Moonlight can give a better streaming experience, but it was pretty much the same for me.
### 3. TV latency ###
The perceived lag could be down to the TV (an LG OLED), and forums suggest switching to game mode.
I've tried this and it also didn't seem to make any difference. It also made the whole AV experience very unstable as it seems the Game mode on the TV automatically enables HD Deep Colour which the shield does not seem to cooperate with at all.
### 4. Device latency ###
I've tried both wired and wireless (2.4GHz and Bluetooth) keyboards, albeit cheap ones (which wouldn't have amazing latency themselves) and in both cases the mouse seems to be pretty rubbish still (but they are markedly better on my Mac again).
I've read that the polling rate for better mice might need to be pinned to 125 or 500Hz, but that would likely not apply to the basic ones I've been testing with.
All devices are fine on the shield outside of the streaming apps.
I don't think its a resource issue - the PC I'm streaming from is a Ryzen 5800X3D with a 6900XT. I've pinned resolution to 1080p etc, but all the diagnostics say I should be able to support high quality.
I just can't believe that "_the_" streaming box for gaming would be this useless. I certainly expect some latency while streaming, but I would expect even casual games to be eminently playable.
Utterly at a loss now, and the internet doesn't really seem replete with suggestions.

Can you recommend a solution to normalize this bandwidth when any audio is streamed into any output channel? (any headphones or inbuilt audio speakers)
**Wavelet** seems to be a privacy-oriented third-party tool with good user documentation. But it seems a bit tricky to set it up on a multi-user system such as Graphene OS if you prefer not to use the command line on the mobile device. I also found two other candidates : **RootlessJamesDSP** and **ARISE Sound Systems**
Is there any sort of Equalizer that is built into the Operating System, how to find it? Or should it be a third-party app, and which one?

I can see a couple different solutions:
1. Adjust the actual aspect ratio.
1. Add a black bar on the top / bottom of the display that effectively changes the aspect ratio.

My setup:
- Nvidia Shield is connected to the TV
- I use the optical out of the TV to connect two speakers
- I use the Nvidia Shield remote to control the Shield volume out (not the TV volume or the speaker volume: just the Shield volume)
This setup has worked just fine for years, but I recently changed my TV from an old Panasonic plasma TV to a QLED from LG and it doesn't work anymore.
What happens is that I can change the volume just fine if I'm in the dashboard or if I play a file locally. But if I stream something (I tried Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+), the volume doesn't change and I get the pop-up saying that I have to go into settings and set up the remote control. This ONLY happens when streaming, and it did not happen with my old TV.
I can change the volume just fine if I set the output to be the TV speakers instead of the optical out, but obviously that's not what I want. I have tried checking/unchecking IR, CEC, and HDMI fixed volume control in the Shield's settings but no luck. I also try to set up the remote again but also there, no luck.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to be able to make it work also during streaming. Thanks!

Yet, my goal is to cast the signal to Chromecast. The official app doesn't feature a cast button, so I'm trying VLC.
Yet, on both Chromecast and my Android phone, the stream plays for a couple of milliseconds (I see a bunch of frames and hear the sound, so it's actually playing the stream), only to exit immediately.
How can I force VLC on Chromecast to play the stream?

**Summary**: I want to stream Google Play movie from Android to HDMI/VGA/Composite TV, possibly through laptop.
I have no idea whether it's possible or not but I'd really love some insight from some more knowledgeable people on.
More in depth: I have a Galaxy S5, unrooted, that I absolutely love. First smart phone, I've been living off of a talk/text only phone previously. I also recently came home for the holidays to discover that my sister hasn't seen the Lord of the Rings! I figured I'd be smart, and use my Google Play account (with all three extended editions) to stream it through my laptop, and laptop to TV. Well, the internet here is very poor, I guess my parents get about .6 MBps? Anyways, video streaming kept buffering/loading, so I tried to move over to my phone, which has all three already downloaded into internal storage. Couldn't find a way to stream from phone to TV, the USB port wasn't gonna work. I don't have an adapter, but I do have my laptop. I tried pulling the downloaded .wvm file from the phone, but because yay DRM, that's a no go. I've done some searching, and while the AndroidScreencast project seems promising, it says it refreshes at about 5 FPS, so not very good for media streaming.
So I have a phone, a laptop, and a TV. I can connect the phone to the laptop by USB or Bluetooth. Laptop to TV via HDMI or VGA. Is there any way I can play the movie on my phone, have it feeding the video to the TV/laptop, and then to the TV?

It still works fine on my Google Pixel 2 (OS 11) so don't think it is wifi network related.
The app starts OK, but on trying to live stream an error dialog merely says 'something has gone wrong, please try later' (001). ITV's help is not great, simply says it should work on Android OS after 5.0.
Tried reinstalling to no effect. I notice the app version (10.3.0) is the same on the Pixel and Nexus, but in the play store download, the Pixel version says 55MB, whereas the Nexus is 40MB.
I had exactly the same thing with All 4 some time ago, then suddenly it started to work again.

Is it possible to change USB Audio Interface input stereo to mono?
So we're streaming using a **mixer** to **audio interface** to **phone** via **USB OTG**.
The thing with the Audio Interface, and btw our Audio Interface is the Behringer UMC22, and the Interface treats its input 1 as the left channel and the input 2 as right channel. Now so when we stream, it only outputs on the left channel because that is where our mixer is plugged in (input 1).
Is there like an app or anything that I can do to let the recording input just like in PC to change from 2 channels (stereo) to 1 Channel (mono) only? Thank you

How do I keep my WiFi running when my phone's screen is off and locked?
Facts:
1. The biggest battery drain is my screen usage
1. WiFi uses your battery, but not nearly as badly as the screen
1. I use my phone to stream audio
1. I intentionally turn off my phone's screen to save my phone's battery
1. If I'm playing a local file that I previously downloaded, then I have no issues with the audio stopping when my screen is off.
1. If I'm streaming audio, then sometime after I turn off my phone's screen, the audio streaming stops (I guess after it locks and the the stream buffer is empty)
1. Immediately after I wake my screen, the audio stream resumes. Unlocking the phone is not necessary to resume the audio stream.
I assume, therefore, that my phone is disabling my WiFi sometime after my handset's screen is turned off.
I am running LineageOS 18 (Android 11).
How do I prevent my android device from disabling my WiFi when the screen is off?

What I tried so far is BubbleUPnP. This did the job just fine (from my Huawei P20 Pro to my Y5 II), save that the interface is awful and the limitations arr endless of an amount--with maximum 16 songs in a playlist and maximum uptime of 30 minutes streaming per app launch.
