Utilizing "dual audio" (Bluetooth 5 standard) to "intercom" two connected headsets

I've seen a number of apps that allow a Bluetooth headset to intercom or walkie talkie to another phone over WiFi/udp or phone to phone over Bluetooth but I'm looking to connect two "headsets" to one phone and have the mic from the one talk to the headphone of the other and vice versa. I believe this is possible, but I'm not sure if it exists or if I need to make it.
More details: I bought a side by side and want to have a way to talk to my passenger. I've already got a helmet with an IMSA plug (road racing) and earplug headphones, and I'd like to keep that setup, so I bought a traccom chaser, which I believe is basically a Bluetooth headphone setup that plugs into my helmet plug. The passenger would have one as well. Generally, you'd pair one with a phone, then call another person with one, or there's a chance I could pair it with a "Sena" motorcycle-style system.
I didn't want something that stayed in the vehicle because they're mostly not waterproof or extremely expensive.

This question is a duplicate of https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/5796/can-an-android-phone-be-used-as-a-bluetooth-headset-speakers from 2011. I am asking because I suspect Android may have been subject to an update or two since then.
My use case is:
- Old car with aux input
- Tablet screwed into the dashboard
- Tablet audio out into the car radio and wired microphone next to the rearview mirror into the tablet
I want to get in my car and take a call, without taking my phone out of my pockets. I've been searching an hour, reading 25-page long forum threads, still no definitive answers and almost all threads are from 2012 or so.
With all the people screwing tablets into their car's dashboard, there just has to be a way to do this, right?

I have a strange situation where my Bluetooth headset does not work for (most) VoLTE calls. More specifically, I can perfectly hear the other end, while they are unable to hear me.
Is there a way to find out why? And how can I mitigate it?
Details
-------
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T with LineageOS 17.1 (build from 12. July 2021)
- AfterShokz Trekz Titanium Bluetooth headset
- Using the German carrier O2.
What I know so far
------------------
Headset works perfectly fine for music, non-VoLTE calls, audio recording apps, WhatsApp voice messages, etc.
- If I switch the audio to phone or speaker during the call, everything works as expected. If I change it back to the headset the other party no longer hears me. I can switch back and forth multiple times with the same results.
- If I disable VoLTE calls the headset works fine.
- The problem does not occur on all VoLTE calls, but on most. It seems to be consistent with the opposing party, i.e., happens all the time with caller A, happens never with caller B.
- Most tests done in a zone with excellent LTE+ coverage (full bars and I can even see the antenna tower). The problem seems to be independent of the LTE tower or city I am in.
- When on VoLTE calls, the audio quality is definetley better.
Ideas I had
-----------
My prime suspect is "audio codecs".
When I connect this headset to Windows, it appears as two devices: "hands free audio" and "stereo headset". And only the "hands free audio" one is able to also record sound. When I switch the output to "headset" the audio quality is worse. Also, when I am using the headset's microphone it can not playback music over the "stereo headset" device.
My guess is, that there is some kind of "high quality" audio mode and when on VoLTE calls, a better audio codec is used and the phone wants to also use this for the headset. The headset accepts, but is unable to do both (high quality audio and microphone usage) at the same time.
Is there a way to check which audio codecs are used? Maybe via adb?
I could change the bluetooth codec in the developer settings, but the list is huge.
Can I somehow determine which codecs are supported by the headset?

Thanks.

I am a newbie on bluetooth & facing a few basic problems. I am currently working on an android voice assistant application, trying to make it work with bluetooth headsets.
If I connect to bluetooth via settings dialog the voice is still captured from Phone's microphone(and not from headset) but when it's connected via HSP profile programatically, voice is captured from Headset.
Can anyone help me understand this behaviour?

I tried to pair but every time I would get a phone call the voices would come over garbled like they were under water. I thought it was the headsets due to I also fought this with my last phone LG Phenix 2, so i went and bought another pair. These are called Warrior BT2. When I finished charging them up i paired them and made a phone call, same problem. i was ok as long as i held the phone but if i even went 1 ft from the phone it would cause issues. Where i live I don't have great service so when i find service i have to leave my phone in that spot. What can I do to fix this or do I need to go purchase the higher end ear phones? my husband's was 70 dollars and i still fight this. Please help

How is the system determining which audio app to use when reconnecting to a bluetooth device? Is there a way to change it?
I downloaded some MP3s that won't work in the Google Play Music App, nor Amazon Music app for whatever reason. So I gave up, and decided to play a podcast using a podcast app. Then I connected to my car's bluetooth stereo, and even though the podcast app was open and playing, it tries to use Amazon Music to play the last unplayable MP3 I tried in it. It fails, giving me an annoying notification.
This happens even if I close Amazon Music from the task manager. It still keeps opening back up and trying to play music when connecting via bluetooth, it's like my phone does not have my podcast app recognized as a playback app if Amazon Music (or Google Play Music) apps have been opened since the last phone boot. They seem to have priority over it.
Is there anyway to change how this 'last music app' is triggered or configured?

Why does bluetooth headset auto dial a number when I press the button
After I have paired a bluetooth headset, if I press the call button on the headset it automatically calls one particular number? Why does this happen? I would have thought it should bring up the dialer for me to select who to call. I'm running a HTC Magic with 2.3 Gingerbread if that matters.

However, upon connecting to the Cicada, the phone is no longer connected to the Juke for phone calls.
Is there a way to tell Android to force send HSP data to the hands-free set, and force all A2DP data to the A2DP adapter? The A2DP tells android it supports HSP and therefore overrides the Juke pairing.

I have a stereo Bluetooth headset. When paired and connected, both the Phone and Media profiles are supported.
I can hear Google Maps Navigation voice directions in the headset.
However, if I uncheck the Media profile (I am using the the media profile to connect to an iPod touch), then the voice directions come out of the speaker. I want them to come over the headset.
From this, I assume that the phone wants to send the voice directions to the A2DP if the headset supports it, and to the speaker if the headset does not support A2DP.
Is there any way to configure the Phone (Bell's Samsung Galaxy S) so the voice turn-by-turn directions are sent to the HSP (headset) profile (where to audio for cell phones voice calls is directed)?
Although I haven't tried it, I assume this problem exists for simple non-media headsets that only support HSP.

I have a bluetooth headset for voice calls on my HTC EVO 4G. When I connect it, voice calls work well, and other audio works *before* I try pressing the "call" button on the headset.
The first time I press this button, the built-in voice recognition cuts out. After that, it works fine, but no more audio will be routed through either the speaker or the audio jack on the phone, and although the headset still works for voice calls, it is stuck to that stupid "*BT profile*", so it dosen't get the audio for music and such.
A few notes
- this **only** happens with the headset, no other bluetooth device (such as keyboard), but I have not tested it with a bluetooth sound system.
- this does not occur with any other audio connection, i.e. headphones etc.
- switching sound modes (vibrate, loud, silent) has no effect
- the only solution I have now is resetting the phone, which I would love not to have to do every time I use my headset
I am running Cyanogenmod 7.1 (stable). Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround or a patch?

**Is there a way that one can automatically turn off the email notification when one is connected to a bluetooth-enabled car radio, ie. while driving, and only respond to incoming call notifications?** Once the bluetooth connection is broken, the suppressed e-mail notifications should then be delivered.
Alternatively, if the e-mail notification is sounded, the phone should not maintain a bluetooth streaming mode status to the hands-free kit and the radio should revert to whichever audio/radio mode was previously in use.
The phone is from the Samsung Galaxy range.

The issue is that any Android phone I've tested plays ringtone on internal speaker. In headset I hear at this moment standard beep-beep-beep. Is any way to send ringtone to BT headset?
Of course, BT headset ideally works in other terms: when I answer the call, sound output is redirected to headset as I expect and phone is using mic in headset.
But on every Nokia phone ringtone is correctly redirected to BT. It is very disappointing that newer and more functional Android lacks this feature.
I've tested next phones:
- LG Optimus One P500
- HTC Inspire 4G
I've tested different versions of firmware. From 2.2 to 2.3.4. The behavior is identical.
