I'm trying to set up my motorcycle Bluetooth headset (Fodsports BT-S2) to let me use Google Assistant. It has the following Bluetooth profiles: - A2DP-SNK - AVRCP - HSP - HFP I've managed to find an old APK of 'Smart Bluetooth Headset' which has allowed me to map the normal 'redial last number' button to the more useful 'Google Assistant'. That seems to be working flawlessly, opening the assistant and making the normal beep awaiting voice input. The problem I have is that it doesn't pick up the audio from the microphone on the headset, only from the phone itself. I've tried various combinations of the settings within the Google Assistant, as well as various mono routing apps to try and get it to work. One of these mono routing apps was successful at one point. However, my setup was no longer using A2DP, and so I was forced to endure poor sound quality. Is there any way I could either: 1. Make Google Assistant correctly use the microphone on my headset? 2. Force the phone to use only the microphone part of my headset, instead of the phone's built-in microphone, whilst retaining the A2DP mode for audio?

I have a Jabra Move headset that has been working wonderfully for months. However, today it started having connection problems to my Motorola Moto Z: it connects and remains connected indefinitely, as long as I don't start playing any sound. If I have sound from Google Music or Facebook, the headset plays 3 seconds, disconnects, and reconnects. I have no idea how to solve this. Here's what I tried: 1. Restarting the mobile phone 2. Restarting the headset 3. Reset the headset 4. Unpairing and pairing back I am running Android 7.1.1. I have no idea how to fix this, please help.

I'm trying to connect a bluetooth headset to my phone ( Poco X3 Pro ) but I end up with this error instead. Things that I have tried: - Rebooting device - Killing bluetooth app and clearing all of its data ( user settings and cache ) - Cleared cache from the Connectivity settings ( clears wifi, bluetooth etc ) - Tried to download a Bluetooth app from the Playstore and connect through it, same error - Tried to manually "Forget" or "Disconnect" the device from the Bluetooth settings, but the android version doesn't even have these buttons ( long pressing or swiping on the device doesn't do anything ) Is there some sort of incompatibility between the devices where they just would not get along? When I put the headset into pairing mode ( holding its button for a few seconds ) and I click on "Pair" from my phone, it hangs for around 5-7 seconds and then displays the error from the title. The headset connects just fine to my older phone and doesn't require any additional inputs, apart for OS permissions.

Is there something I'm missing or a different command I should be trying? I've tried searching the Pico XR documentation, as well as issuing similar commands like adb shell toolbox date and adb shell date as well as searching Stack Overflow for similar questions. So far nothing has worked. Thanks in advance for any guidance with this!

I just recently lost my OnePlus Nord 2CE which had all my must-have features, dedicated dual SIM slots, SD card support, and a 3.5mm jack. Now there are very few phones which have these 3 features, so I have accepted that the SD card can go, but as I use an EPOS wired headset which I find really important for long calls, I am wondering if I was to buy a phone with only USB-C, how I could use my wired headset or if there are USB-C versions that work. I already own iFi Audio GO and Meizu HiFi Audio USB audio adapters for driving proper HiFi headphones. Will these support mic input? This USB-C Logitech headset says "Functionality for mobile devices with USB-C depends on the device." Any ideas?

The following issue with my Sony Xperia ZR (running CM 11-20141112-SNAPSHOT) started a few days ago: * When I initiate or receive an ordinary phone call, I can't hear the other side through my earpiece and the other side can't hear me either. * When I plug in the wired headset, I can use that without problems. * When I activate the speakerphone button during the call (without the headset plugged in), I can communicate with the other side. * I also have a "click" sound effect for locking and unlocking the phone and this sound effect is now also only audible through the headset. Here is what I tried: 1. First of course, I checked my profile and volume settings to make sure they are on Default and the in-call volume turned up. 2. I re-started my phone multiple times, sometimes with, sometimes without the headset being plugged in. 3. I thought that the headphone jack might be broken, i.e. that it thinks the headset is always plugged in - especially since I use the headset a lot for listening to audio while walking. **But** as soon as I plug in the headset, the Apollo audio player app starts, suggesting that the headphone detection works fine. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to see if the software thinks that the headset is connected or not - is there a headset icon or similar I could enable? 4. So I thought it might be a software issue. 1. I installed the [Sound Manager](https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=sound+manager&fdid=com.roozen.SoundManagerv2) app which allows to adjust all volume settings and 2. found that it behaved a bit strange when I touched the In-Call Volume slider, causing a sound blip coming out of my earpiece. Also the volume "overlay" (or whatever you call that window that pops up when pressing the volume rocker) became visible, but sometimes only its icon, not the slider itself. 3. After adjusting the volumes through that app, I could make a test call without headset and without the speakerphone enabled which worked fine. Also the phone (un-)locking sounds were working again. 4. **However** a couple of hours later, when I unlocked my phone again, I didn't hear the click and doing a test call I realised that the problem had re-appeared. 5. So I went back to the Sound Manager and adjusted the sliders once more, this time no strange effects as in 4.2 before. And no click when locking/unlocking and no audio through the earpiece & mic during my next test call. Short of completely re-setting my phone (which I'd like to avoid), is there another way of debugging this issue? Does CM have a way to tell the headset detection status? Any other things I could try?

This is not the case when using an iPhone. I saw https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/16313/minimum-volume-is-too-high-with-headphones suggested getting an inline volume control. Will this only work for music or phone calls as well? I have tried equalizer apps like Fine Volume Control but these work only for media and not in-call volume, which is my main issue.

I would like to have exactly the opposite of this question, or this . Some audio documentaries on youtube that I want to listen to with an old-style (wired, non-bluetooth) headset have only one channel audio. That is, I hear audio in just one ear. Is there a way to hear the sound in both headphones while playing that? (That would improve the experience, the voices are not always clear, etc.) — I mean, maybe there is an app that has a setting for that. **NOTA BENE**: --- I am referring to **wire** headphones here, **not** bluetooth. The device is Xiaomi A2 phone running Android 10. --- EDIT after comments: Opening the audio file in Audacity, I see this: enter image description here Although Mediainfo says 2 channels: enter image description here

*Ok, here goes: Huawei P10 is still the best phone out there. (Only thing I miss here is an additional wide-angle lens, but hey.) After having taking it's ten-thousandst fall the glass splintered slightly on the side and the camera is showing focus issues (which can only be "fixed" temporarily by letting it drop on a flat surface: google it...) I decided I need to look for a replacement :( Regarding modern phones, I can't stand a notch, with the exception of the punch-hole on the side, like featured in the Samsung S10e. Thanks to Trump and the Huawei-Google-sanctions, the obvious Huawei P40 family is also out of the question.* ------

The Problem

Hitherto, I'd use the P10 in combination with a Bluetooth-connected Bose QC35ii headset for business **calls**. Sure, there was a distinct white-noise hiss already then when initiating calls, **but now this hiss with the S10e has a different pitch** and it's driving me bonkers / bananas. Note: 1. All devices have the **latest firmware and updates installed** (as per **20 Apr 2020**). 2. **No** (white-noise) hiss is present when placing a call [with another, USB-C wired headset](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/201134/work-around-to-get-usb-c-headset-to-work-for-calls-in-android-smartphones) **or** *without* a headset. 3. The hiss **starts already when dialling and continues throughout the call**. 4. Listening to **music** does **not** cause any (discernible) white-noise (irrespective of whether noise-cancelling is on or off). Does anyone have an idea of how to change the pitch of the white-noise ***when placing a call*** with the Samsung S10e through the Bose QC35ii? ----

I need to get a wired (not bluetooth) headset for my [LG Aristo 2 Plus](https://www.phonemore.com/specs/lg/aristo-2/plus-x212tal/) , but I don't know what I need to make it work. I imagine there are only two components I need to worry about: (1) type of connector on headset and (2) type of connector on adapter. Adapter may not be necessary, but probably is for wired headsets. I've wasted a lot of money on adapters to make a cheap wired Plantronics headset work on my old work iPhone, but none of them worked. Maybe Android-based devices are easier? To be clear, I need a headset for talking on the phone, not a pair of headphones. Any nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! If there is a canonical answer out there somewhere, please point me to it.

I work as a freelance consultant using a platform that aggregates my clients who buy hours from me in blocks. Billing is done per minute when a client makes a voice/video call. Voice clarity and noise cancellation is of the utmost importance. Clients are able to leave reviews after a call. The problem is that the platform (two versions exist: Android and iOS) was built by a small startup who haven't invested in Bluetooth support (yet). As a result, headsets have to be plugged in to the the headphone jack of the device. I invested in the rather expensive Sennheiser MB 660 since I was looking for the ultimate purpose built headset for knowledge workers. The trouble: I had assumed that all of its built-in noise cancelling microphones will continue to work even if I had a wired connection, and could live with that until the app added Bluetooth support. HOWEVER, I belatedly discovered the MB 660's are designed such that Bluetooth AND the noise cancelling mics are switched off as soon as a wire is plugged in (some German engineering choices I find perplexing), and the only active microphone is then the one on the audio cable itself (not noise cancelling). Which beats the purpose of having such a sophisticated headset in possession. Now that I have this headset anyway, and love it otherwise, I want to find a way to indirectly connect it to my Android device in a way that I am able to use it without connecting the wire. The only way to do that seems to be to plug something (henceforth, SOMETHING) in to my Android device's 3.5mm headphone jack. That SOMETHING will be a two-way Bluetooth contraption of some sort that can send and receive audio and able to pair with my headset too. Does this SOMETHING already exist in the market, or will I have to make one? If I must make one, what components do I need and how to do I put them together? Thank you so much!
