I just updated my OG Pixel 1 to Android 10. I normally use light mode (not dark mode), but my phone just hit the threshold to turn on battery saver mode, and now it has forced my phone into dark mode. I can't toggle this in settings while battery saver is on, and I don't see any settings in battery saver to prevent this force theme change. I find it incomprehensible that this wouldn't be an option, given that there are plenty of phones (like the OG Pixel) that still use LCD screens, and thus whose screen colors don't affect the battery usage. Are there any settings, hidden or otherwise, that prevent dark mode from activating during battery saver on Android 10?

I recently bought an Intenso microSDXC UHS-I Premium card, formatted it as internal storage, and the content has been moved without any errors. But after that, the phone started having several issues: - Most photos, videos, music, and recorded audio files are missing. - Some apps—like CamScanner, Foxit PDF Reader, and the camera—don’t work. - WhatsApp media (voices, images, videos) can’t be downloaded or saved. - App updates can’t be installed. - Storage shows a negative value (see attached photo). I’ve tried common fixes online and contacted the manufacturers, but nothing has worked. I also couldn’t find an option to reformat or separate the internal storage from the SD card. What would be the best next step? Should I try reinserting the SD card and choosing "forget" option, enable “Force allow apps on external” in Developer Options, or is there a better solution to recover the files and resolve the storage issues? - Device Name: Redmi Note 9 Pro - MIUI version: MIUI Global 12.0.3 Stable 12.0.3.0(QJZMIXM) - Android version: 10 QKQ1.191215.002 Phone Storage

I am trying to fix my Huawei P30 (Android 10) which gets stuck in recovery mode. I tried to fix it by using eRecovery but I get the error "Get Package info failed". Around the internet, I was told to flash a new ROM to solve this problem, but there is no tutorial for flashing stock ROMs for Huawei P30 on the internet. My Huawei P30 does not have an SD Card slot meaning I can't use the method of adding update.app to /dload folder on an SD card. I also cannot use ADB fastboot because the Huawei on Android 10 does not have the image files required (boot.img, recovery.img, etc.) Instead, it has a myriad of images like Super.img, Ramdisk.img, erocovery.img, etc. I don't know which ones to select because I am unable to find a tutorial on the internet that tells me which files to select. I also cannot use the SP Flash Tool because Android 10 stock ROMs do not have scatter file XML or txt (it has update.app) I am unable to use SigmaKey as well because of the "SmartCard resource manager not running" error (I'm on Windows 10) I have exhausted many options with no luck, please help me.

You may note the almost duplicate title from this question . It keeps coming up when trying to solve my current issue. I created a little web app to help at work. Just some HTML and JavaScript, and before Android started enforcing the Scoped Storage, I had no issues using it. Now when I try to load the URL (ie: file:///storage/emulated/0/__MyDocs/SignInTracker.html) I get an access denied error. I could use Firefox, but it seems to be because it's not yet using the Scoped Storage standard, which if I understand correctly, will be a requirement in the next Android version, so that means I cannot rely on it working in the future. Also, Firefox just doesn't run as nicely as Chrome. Is there a proper way for a non-Android-developer to use a local web app like this? Is there perhaps a location on the phone where I can place my .html and .js files that will allow Chrome to access them without issues? At work, I'm not online or connected to anything, so loading from another server/computer is not an option. For reference: My Chrome version is 79.0.3945.116, my Firefox version is 68.4.1, and my phone OS is Android 10; Pixel Build/QP1A.191005.007.A1.

**System**: rooted Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 10 I have replaced my old external sdcard (128GB) with a new and bigger one (512GB). The old card was automatically mounted to /storage/6639-3031. The new card is mounted to: /storage/9C33-6BBD. Since I have a lot of configured appz that use custom paths pointed to /storage/6639-3031/somesubfolder I would like to change the new id: 9C33-6BBD back to the old one 6639-3031 system wide. Since there is no fstab in Android responsible for this and I cannot find **where this id's are stored in Android**, maybe some experts here can help me? It seems like a simple problem but I did not find the solution yet. Some clues I already found: 1. Android equivalent of /etc/fstab? 2. Remount FUSE partition Once I have found where this external sdcard id is stored, **can I just change the id** (I have **root**)? **Will it be stay changed after reboot**?

Mi App has silently taken over everything related to documents in my Gmail and printing in general in my phone. Whenever I do any action that is "an inch close to printing) then Mi App appears. enter image description here I cannot change it [in the usual way](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/47300/20449) because my Motorola Moto One / Android 10 (One) claims that Mi App has no defaults defined and so there is nothing to clear: enter image description here This is super-duper annoying because right now I am even not able to preview a .docx or .pdf attachment sent alongside some email, because each such tap instead of showing document preview, opens up Mi App claiming that there is no printer added. How it is possible that some app is making some "silent" takeover of some action, without clearly showing this fact in Android's or app's configuration? Even more important -- how to get rid of this and bring the default action (of documents previews) to my Gmail? **EDIT**: _Since this is Android on board Motorola device, it should be very close to stack Android without any significant changes from Motorola side._

So there is this thing that has annoyed me since my Samsung Galaxy S8. The default vibration pattern for notifications (when on vibrate mode) seems to be two short vibrations. This is driving me nuts as I always have my smartphone on vibrate but I want it to only vibrate once, one short "bing" kind of vibration. I tried several apps which allow you to control the vibration pattern, but they all seem to work only if not in vibrate mode or for older types of OS (< 8). Mind you that this is pretty much only about WhatsApp, as I don't receive many messages via SMS or anything else. Changing the pattern in WhatsApp does nothing (it keeps vibrating literally exactly the same), external Apps do something sometimes (sometimes 3 vibrations, sometimes 1, most often still 2, and nothing is really reproducible). Finally, Android itself does not really give you any control over vibrations unless I miss something. I even had a look at the source code which (if I understand correctly) hardcodes the vibration pattern fallback for vibrate mode and does not allow any changes. I know that it sounds really stupid but this is such a big grind for me, that I even consider switching the OS, as it drives me insane. So if anybody has any help it would be much appreciated. If relevant, the device is an Essential Phone running Android 10. There is no "Sounds and Vibrations" setting, there is only a "Sound" setting which allows me to change the call and notification sounds but not the patterns.

But most of the apps are only visible to Owner (I suppose those are User apps, as the universally visible are System apps). But how can I make some of these apps visible to other profiles so I can use them with all the features provided with separate user accounts (e.g. compartmentalized app data)? Preferably using only one device, without ADB connection to PC, and without re-installation. There are similar questions on this topic ((https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/96026/if-the-owner-installs-an-app-can-a-secondary-profile-use-it) , (https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/51132/a-specific-app-works-fine-with-tablet-owner-account-but-crashes-for-other-users ), (https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/33470/is-it-possible-to-make-admin-user-apps-available-on-other-user-accounts)) , but the answers are outdated. Is there any way to 'resurrect' the Google Play Store? Some government apps need the Google Play Store or else they crash.

I have Android 10 on my phone. In the 'Settings - SIM card & mobile data - Mobile Data - Network Permissions' menu, I have set wifi & mobile data access as "disable network" for some of my apps. The problem is, when I open such an app, it shows a notification "*App name* is Forbidden From Using the Network" with two buttons to choose from - "Keep disabled" or "Allow". This cannot be minimized or removed without choosing either of the two buttons. After choosing "Keep disabled", the nuisance does not go away. Each time the app is opened next, there is a toast informing "Network is turned off for *App name*. You can modiy this in *menu location*". This happens every time! And sometimes (probably after a reboot, not sure) Android 10 forgets the setting for that app and the mandatory notification comes again with the buttons to choose from. Can this behavior be prevented or at least minimized?

I have very little experience with Android, or any other mobile device operating system. I'm accustom to using Linux operating systems, where any time there is an update I can typically upgrade to the very latest version of the operating system without any roadblocks. I have Galaxy Tab A (Model SM-T550) tablet, that I've barely used the entire time I've had it, and I'm wanting to give it to my Godson as a gift. Before giving it so him, I wanted to upgrade it to the latest Android OS, so that he wouldn't be limited by any missing features that this tablet's older Android version might have. In the settings menu, I found a Software update feature and tried to update. This is what it said: The latest updates have already been installed: Current version: T550XXU1CQJ6/T550XAR1CQJ6/ When I go to "About Tablet", I see that this device has Android 7.1.1 installed and I read somewhere that Android version 10 was released in 2019. Is this the type of support that I can expect from Samsung when buying one of their Android devices? If so, this will be the last dollar they'll get from me. Is there any way to upgrade this Galaxy Tab A (Model SM-T550) to the latest Android, or at least a later version than 7.1.1? I'm very technically savvy on laptops and PCs, if you could direct me to a thorough guide, where someone has accomplished this, I could probably pull it off, its just that I've never really tried to do anything like this with tablets or mobile phones. Please advise me. Also, if this isn't doable, and I wanted to buy him a new tablet, which brand would be the best about always allowing upgrades to the latest Android? If there's a brand that does that, that will be the only brand I'll buy in the future.

I'm looking for a solution similar to USB/Linux/Windows drives; a link to the device the sdcard is connected to (/dev/ /mnt/ or /storage/something/), rather than to individual partitions on them, which works on Android 10 and hopefully newer versions as well.

I found https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/218857/remap-bluetooth-headsets-media-key-android-9 , so I installed AutoVoice and Tasker, but I am not able to call action after the button on the headset is pressed (of course, I am pretty newbie with AutoVoice and Tasker, so maybe my fault). Could you please help me?

I'm a tech savy person but this has me at my wits end. I have two apps and two devices I want to connect to with my OnePlus 5T running Android 10, OxygenOS 10.0.1 - [Image Sync](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ricohimaging.imagesync&hl=en_CA&gl=US) , trying to connect to Pentax KS2 - [GoPro Quik](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gopro.smarty&hl=en_CA&gl=US) , trying to connect to GoPro Hero Silver 7. For Image Sync, this is what happens: 1. On my phone: turn on NFC 1. Turn on my Pentax camera. 2. Open the app on my phone, click on "cam images" to try to download the camera's pictures. 1. App wants me to connect through NFC or through wi-fi. I pick NFC and put the camera near the phone. 1. The connection seems to work, I see "connection successful" at the bottom of my phone. Then a popup lets me select my camera. I click "connect" and immediately after, another popup appears saying "Something came up. The application has cancelled the request to choose a device" 1. If I go the wi-fi route, the same thing happens. For the GoPro, my phone is able to find my camera but when I try to download the images, it says "connecting" and nothing happens. Then another popup: "we had trouble connecting with your GoPro". My phone has developer mode turned on. Is there a setting that i'm missing? It can't be that both apps are faulty, right? It has to be my phone. I've tried various combinations of connections on my phone turned on/off: wi-fi, bluetooth, data. Nothing works.

Android 10 sometimes not receiving calls

Since getting a new Hisense A7CC (colour Eink, android 10 and GiffGaff carrier in the UK) I noticed how sometimes while internet browsing there would be an error (the site cannot be reached, took too long to respond, ERR_TIMED_out) but didn't think of it too much as the page would load normally if I refreshed or even waited a few seconds for it to do it automatically. Unfortunately I found a few weeks later that at random times the phone would not receive calls, with the other person calling getting sent straight to voicemail or just not reachable if I disabled the voicemail. If the person on the opposite end was to repeatedly try after about 3/4 times the call will get through, and from then on it will go through without issue. Same issue with SMS: will not receive straight away, if I waited long enough the phone will start "syncing" and receive all the sent messages and future ones in real time with no delay. When that happens I think the mobile data also "awakens" and whatsapp starts syncing messages etc. I know for sure that if I was to restart the connection to the cell by turning airplane mode on/off then the phone will be responsive for some time after that. For a while was thinking it had to do with it going into an extreme deep sleep and stopping "vital" functions, that doesn't seem to be the case as I would have the issue with the screen unlocked and using an app. Is there an app or setting I can use to check the phone behaviour? or perhaps some other things to try just to get more details on what it could be? I have a separate work phone I could use for testing calls etc. I really like the phone but this issue made me miss a few important calls.
