I upgraded from Galaxy Mega to Galaxy S6 Edge +. There is no menu button. In Galaxy Mega, part of the menu contains changing the settings of the countdown timer alarm. One setting I had was that I could **set my phone to vibrate while the countdown timer alarm rings when the countdown finishes.** So texts and notifications from apps make my phone only vibrate, but my countdown timer rings. In Galaxy S6 Edge +, it seems like my phone vibrates iff my countdown timer alarm vibrates. How can I allow the countdown timer to ring while my phone is set to vibrate mode? --- Galaxy mega has option in timer to change volume. The timer indeed goes off even when the phone is in vibrate. This does not seem to be allowed in s6e+ enter image description here enter image description here Click on picture for larger version Bounty note: I think there's something in sounds and notifications, but I can't seem to find it.

Phone alarm clock apps are great, you can set as many alarms as you want, with whatever sounds you want at whatever volume you want. Physical alarm clocks that are sold are way more limited. Maybe 2-3 sounds and maybe 2-3 alarms that you can set max. I don't want to use my actual phone as my alarm because that's too distracting. Instead I want to turn my own android into a dedicated alarm clock. Feature: - no access to any apps - a good (free) alarm clock app - a way to make it always on display that's dim at night and brighter in the day. Questions - What are ways to accomplish some/all of this? - Is there a way to jailbreak it with an alarm clock OS or something like that?

I need an audible alarm. Is there any way to use a timer with an audible alarm while making a phone call? It used to be possible, a few Android updates back (can't remember which Android version), but not any more it seems, at least not out of the box. I've tried the stock Clock app, Ovo Timer and Timer (by Opoloo). In all three cases alarm signals are only played as expected while not making a phone call.

Note that I _do not want to delete the alarm_, just this notification about it. enter image description here . I know this isn't a *huge* issue, but it's just more annoying notification clutter that I don't want. What's weird is, I've apparently found the settings to change this behavior - but the toggle is disabled and I can't modify it. enter image description here Is there another way to do this that I'm missing, or a way to enable that toggle?

I want to understand such a situation: Timer in the standard watch application used to behave unstable. The situation was such that when I started the timer for the first time (after last turning on the phone), the timer sound wasn't not working at the end of time (only silent notification on the top). Another situation was that the sound was sounding for one second and then suddenly stopped. It was exactly the next time after the silent case. And after that the sound could work properly. It seems to me that clearing the cache and application data helped to solve the problem. But why did this happen? I can well expect this to happen again in the future. The only option I changed was turning off the vibration in timer settings. My phone is LG Spirit 4G LTE (LG-H440n), Android 6.0, timer sound: “Timer” Phone wasn't in the silent mode. All volume sliders were up. No task killer. … It happened again. In the same way.

I am running Android 12 on a Realme 8 5G phone. This phone comes with the following clock application, which is separate from the Google clock application that can be downloaded from the Google Play store, which is similar, but seems to lack this feature. I am not sure about other clock applications. The application looks like this when opened: clock application with alarms screen This application has the feature that when you set an alarm for a time when the phone is off, the phone powers on and the alarm rings. As far as I could tell, when the phone boots up and the alarm rings, the lock screen is on. This means, that as a special feature, wifi and data network from the notification drawer are not enabled (until the user logs in). This effectively enforces airplane mode. As such, this feature should be safe as far as phones going off while the phone is on a plane and turned off should go (because when it boots, the equivalent of airplane mode is in effect). I am not an expert, but as far as I know airplane mode just temporarily turns out wifi and data network. If it does turn any other feature, this should be taken care of here. I wonder whether it would be possible to select a "maintain airplane mode after unlock" as a feature on the lock screen. This would mean, that, if, for example, a user is on a plane and the phone is turned off because it was turned off when they went on, and then the phone turns on after flight (for example to remind the user to take a medication or anything), then the user can also unlock the phone to take a note or do anything else while maintaining airplane mode. This would be a feature. Thank you for your answers.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on Android 6.0.1 (Build Number MMB29K.G935FXXU1APGO). So I have a relative who's spending some time on the other side of the planet (Japan). To facilitate communication, I had set up a dual clock a while back to show both, local and Japanese time on the lock screen. Now - probably due to some update or other - it doesn't show up anymore, just local time. I checked the settings and it's changed. "Dual clock" is still turned on but I cannot select what times to display, anymore. Instead, the option now reads "show both local and home time zones when roaming" (unless that's a different clock, in which case I'd like to know where the other went). I tried setting my home time zone to Japan, but that didn't trigger dual clock -- my guess is because I'm not roaming. Disabling automatic date and time doesn't change anything either. How do I turn dual clock back on?

I am using the default clock application on a Realme 8 5G phone to set alarms. Today I remembered an important alarm I wanted to set. However, my companion was in bed and I did not want to wake my companion up. Hence, I did not want to have the ringtones play when I selected them. But I couldn't just leave the default ringtone because my companion doesn't like it. Thus I must select a different one so that it doesn't bother my companion when it goes off. My idea was to turn off the volume and select the ringtone by ringtone name (in silence). I might have them memorized by name or just want to wait till it goes off to hear it. My strategy was to turn the volume off. However, clicking on the ringtone still makes me hear it. ringtones page with volume turned off globally Why doesn't Android silence the ringtones when I do this and select them, one at a time, in turn, from the ringtone radio controls? Is there a way to select the ringtones without making a noise? Thanks.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A50. I've been messing with it a bunch with ADB, uninstalling apps. I do not have root access. Recently, I was just sitting there, listening to music on it, when it suddenly shut down. When I turned it back on, the clock was gone from the lock screen. If I swipe through the "Face widgets," the time will appear in the top bar, and it's there in the top bar when I unlock my phone too. It is just missing from the "Face widget" on the lock screen. When I go into Settings > Lock screen, tapping "Clock style" does literally nothing. I am guessing this is a result of something I uninstalled, but which built-in app could it be? And why did this only happen several days after uninstalling stuff?

I have cleared the clock app cache, restarted the phone, reset all settings and restarted again all to no avail. This is on a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Android 14 and it is the native Clock app that came with it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
