I've noticed that the files of my Android phone are showing the wrong time and date.
I have made a folder "New folder" and the folder was created on 3/13/21, 12:23 PM.
I renamed the folder to "New renamed folder" and the folder is showing that it was created on 3/13/21, 12:23 PM. But it should be 3/13/21, 12:32 PM.
It said it was last modified on 3/13/21, 12:23 PM. But it should be last modified on 3/13/21, 12:32 PM.
Anyone can help me to solve this problem?

I’m trying to organize photos and files stored on an SD card using file explorer apps on my smartphone. However, I’m facing an issue where simply moving files to another location within the SD card using these file explorer apps causes the creation date of the files to change. For instance, after moving files to a different location on the SD card using a file explorer app, then disconnecting the SD card from the smartphone and connecting it to a computer, I can see that the creation dates of the files have changed.
I have tried using various file explorer apps (such as X-plore and Total Commander) to resolve this issue, but the problem still persists. Currently, I am using a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G with One UI version 5.1 and Android version 13.0.

I'm trying to set the time on an Android phone with inaccessible date & time settings, and the automatic date and time is on along with the GPS.
I've read most of the threads here and on other sites around the web, but couldn't find a solution. I tried all the ADB commands, and some work, but the commands to change time require permission (I assume root) that the phone doesn't have. I was also thinking if this is possible through a local NTP server as the phone doesn't has any network connectivity in any way (Ethernet, SIM/data, wireless).
I was thinking if this is possible and if someone could help.

I'd like to know if there's any way I can change the date settings on startup without root access.
I'm using Urovo DT50 and Honeywell EDA71, both with Android 10.
The problem is, these devices (and there's a lot of them in my workplace) connect to WiFi through the use of certificates, which have a period of validity.
For some reason after a loss of power (changing the battery or just discharging it to 0%), the date in Android resets itself to 01.01.1970, resulting in the device being unable to connect to the network. I want to "automate" clicking through the settings and changing the date by hand. Or if there's a way to change the default date the device goes back to, that could also fix the issue.
As I mentioned, I don't have root access so I take into account that it might be unachievable, does anyone has any ideas?

I have a tablet (no phone network, just WiFi) running Android 12. In the Settings | Date and Time sub-dialog when I select Automatic date & time, there is a 3 way choice:
- Use network provided time
- Use GPS provided time
- Off
What does the first option mean? It sure sounds like NTP, but there is no interface to pick a NTP server. Some wifi routers provide a NTP server address with their DHCP replies, but I don't think mine does, and in any case a mobile device can't rely on that, right?
Strangely on my phone, also Android 12, the Automatic Date & Time widget is just a binary switch, on or off (though the phone definitely has GPS). I think "on" here means the mobile network. But how come this interface differs between two devices with the same Android release?

I've tried searching the Pico XR documentation, as well as issuing similar commands like adb shell toolbox date
and adb shell date
as well as searching Stack Overflow for similar questions. So far nothing has worked.
Thanks in advance for any guidance with this!

I have a few Android TVs and Android TV boxes around the house, and one common nuisance is: that if the time and/or date are incorrect, then the internet for those devices won't work. Also through the ISP we use, the automatic time/date checkbox option does not work either.
The Android TV devices only forget the time/date once a month at most. But it is very unintuitive for someone to think that the time/date needs to be correct for the internet to work. Once more with the incorrect time/date, the internet in Firefox for Android still works. But not for Chrome or YouTube (if the date is incorrect). It's very frustrating and has been like that for years despite performing all the Android system updates available.
Why do the time and date need to be correct for Chrome & YouTube to work on Android TVs and TV boxes?

I wonder whether there is a shortcut (or, alternatively, any quick way) to get you back to the current day (the one we're in in the month we're in in the year we're in) on Google Calendar.
The quickest way I can think of is clicking on the square in the middle of the bottom part of the screen and flicking to where the date widget is on the desktop (if you clicked on it to open Google Calendar it will be the current page), memorizing the date, and returning to Google calendar, scrolling to the given date, while keeping it in mind.
I wonder whether there's a quicker way.
I thought, maybe, from the application menu there could be an entry for current date you could click on, but I couldn't find it (so maybe there is a more efficient way).
Perhaps the best option is just minimizing the app and clicking back on the date on the desktop. Is this the best way to do it?
Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your answers.
Thanks.

I am running Android 11 on a Realme 8 5G phone. I would like Google Assistant to answer basic questions about people's age and birth dates, including my own.
I don't understand why it doesn't do this. When more than one user is present on the phone, it should recognize the person speaking on the basis of the voice being used, and answer the question (even providing more than one answer if it cannot disambiguate between voices).
Questions such as:
"What is my age?"
"When is my birthday/birth date"?
"How old is X?" (it should retrieve this information from the Contacts app).
"When is X's birthday/birth date?"
It is not uncommon for people who get older or develop some learning disability or dementia or other mind problem or who are simply lazy or forgetful to not be able to subtract the date of birth from the current date to compute their age.
The same goes for other people's data. A feature was introduced at some point where you could define kinship in the Contrats app and then just say "call mom/mum". This is also an Accessibility feature. But it would be just as useful if Google Assistant could answer "What is mom's/mum's age?".
Why is this important accessibility feature missing from Google Assistant?
When will it be added?
Is anyone willing to add it?
It would be highly appreciated.
(Here are some screenshots that display for Google Assistant is currently failing when I address the issue in Italian):
UPDATE;
Perhaps this is just a flaw of Google Assistant in Italian. Perhaps, it does not work very well in other languages. Ad a matter of fact, it does not understand correctly non English names. For instance, when I ask Google Assistant, how old is Imma Bonuomo, an Italian name for one of my contacts, Google Assistant does not understand the mixed English and Italian speech (wouldn't it make sense that it did, looking in my contacts first, and, only then, searching on the web? It could even ask me "sounds I look in your contacts?",0 if it was unsure. Or alternatively, it could ask, back, "Search from contacts, or search from the web?", (not sure if Google Assistant has access to any other data sets, then these two places. Perhaps other apps may make data available though a content provider. Or, perhaps, it could ask, back, "Imma Bonuomo found in contacts. Use this result?" and you could specify back, "search the web", if that is not what you wanted. A list of other places to retrieve the data associated with or computed from the name, could be specified in the horizontal scrollable area of Google Assistant.
In any case, Google Assistant hears "Emma Barnett" instead of "Imma Bonuomo", and fails (with the result given in the image below).
Indeed, it gives me this result, when I run such search:
Why is Google Assistant giving me this wrong result?
Thank you for any contributed improvements to Google Assistant.
And thank you for your answers.
UPDATE: I had placed the birth date in the notes, rather than in a separate field (due to a complication where two birth dates were existing separately for this person (the real birth date, and the one recorded at the registry office. Google Assistant was unable to search the notes field for this contract and find the birth date using DeepL (or something similar).
Thanks.
In any case, after reinserting the contact's information in the birthday field instead of in the notes field, the Italian counterpart answers properly to "quando è nata Imma" and "quanti anni ha Imma" (but the English counterpart still mishears). But when asking "how old am I?" In English, it works, but in Italian, "quanti anni ho io", which, is the same thing, doesn't work.
Thanks you for your contributed improvements.
Thank you for your answers.
Thanks.

Is time in Exif or other metadata in a Nexus 5x video?
I have some MP4 videos taken with a Nexus 5x. I no longer have that device. Which of the Exif or XMP or the metadata (if any) contains time in UTC that the video started or ended? I'm trying to get them in chronological order with all the still pictures I took.
