Is there a way to add a native widget with **a single clock** in another timeline? If not, do you know about such an app (the ones I found are optimized for 2+ clocks, keeping ones click takes extra empty screen real estate)

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on Android 6.0.1 (Build Number MMB29K.G935FXXU1APGO). So I have a relative who's spending some time on the other side of the planet (Japan). To facilitate communication, I had set up a dual clock a while back to show both, local and Japanese time on the lock screen. Now - probably due to some update or other - it doesn't show up anymore, just local time. I checked the settings and it's changed. "Dual clock" is still turned on but I cannot select what times to display, anymore. Instead, the option now reads "show both local and home time zones when roaming" (unless that's a different clock, in which case I'd like to know where the other went). I tried setting my home time zone to Japan, but that didn't trigger dual clock -- my guess is because I'm not roaming. Disabling automatic date and time doesn't change anything either. How do I turn dual clock back on?

TL;DR: is it possible to manually force an update of the time-zone database on a reasonably modern Android phone? I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+, running Android 10, and one of the things that lives on my home screen is a dual clock showing the time in Mexico City. (The widget comes from [Digital Clock Widget](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maize.digitalClock) , the developers of which have informed me that they pull the time-zone information for a specific location from the local Android device's database.) Since last April, the time on the Mexico City clock displays incorrectly. As of this year, [Mexico no longer uses DST](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_in_Mexico) , but my device's database seems not to have received an update with the news. Is it possible to force an update of this database to pull the updated DST rules? Is it possible to do so without requiring root access? (I'm aware of Time Zone Updater and other apps that do require root, but that would break other apps.) If it's possible, how can I do it? ([This related question](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/104962/how-to-update-timezone-data) asks how to do the same, but on Android 4.2, and I understand that the timezone handling is radically changed from those days.)

I use Firefox for Android ([Mull](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/us.spotco.fennec_dos)) . I have "resist fingerprinting" (privacy.resistFingerprinting in [about:config](about:config)) enabled. That results in Firefox being forced to report its time in UTC to websites. Some timetable query sites show me the results in the client's time, so in UTC, which is really confusing. On Firefox for Android, I also don't find an extension to change my browser's timezone, like "[Change Timezone (Time Shift) – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/change-timezone-time-shift/) " that is available for "Desktop"-Firefox. How can I set in Firefox for Android my browser's timezone to my operating system's or a self-chosen value while still having privacy.resistFingerprinting enabled?

How do I disable Daylight Saving Time (DST)?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. This year, I'm doing an experiment wherein I do not participate in Daylight Saving Time (DST). However, my phone automatically adjusts itself for DST. How do I disable this? Is there any way to stop my phone's clock from adding or removing an hour twice a year?

When running commands like date or ls -l I always get a multiple repetition of the following lines to the standard error: __bionic_open_tzdata_path: ANDROID_DATA not set! __bionic_open_tzdata_path: ANDROID_ROOT not set! I used to consider it acceptable, until I created a script running date in a loop, causing an awful endless stream of the same repeated lines. I couldn't find any documentation about it, yet the problem seems to be common. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance

I studied some forums, they are saying that the timezone will not update with WiFi and ethernet network. Is it right? Please give some summary regarding this issue.

Or at least I think that's the problem. For weeks now the time on my Pixel has been popping all over the place, without me intervening, always off by exactly one or more hours in either direction. For long stretches the time will be correct, but then it'll start jumping around. Moments ago my phone said 11:07am. Now it's the correct time, 3:07pm. I few minutes prior to that it was 5pm-something. Interestingly, I was trying to use the Google Authenticator app, which doesn't seem to work when the time is incorrect. Without me doing anything, it finally figured out the correct time and the Authenticator app worked. Additionally, yesterday the time was incorrect when I launched Waze and set a route. After my drive started the time randomly fixed itself, but Waze got confused and my 'time to destination' didn't budge, although the route map continued to update. Crazy, and Waze should use their server clock over the device clock anyway. Under Date & time I, naturally, have Automatic time zone enabled, as well as Automatic date & time. I suppose I could disable Automatic time zone, but that's a somewhat-annoying work-around, not a fix. Has anyone see this before? Any suggestions as to what might be the problem? Note: I'm running Android v9. I cannot remember exactly when I upgraded and have no idea if that coincides with the timing of this problem. **Update**: I disabled "Automatic time zone," leaving "Automatic date & time" enabled, and the issued reoccurred, so it's not that. I suppose I could disable them both, but that seems like it would be a hassle.

I live in the south of Brazil. At this time of year is in daylight saving time, where the time zone goes from -03 GMT to -02 GMT. The hour of my MOTO C PLUS (Android 7.0) has changed automatically to the right time without any problem, but the GPS time continues in -03 GMT Time zone. I use an application that uses GPS time and errors are generated because of this difference. This problem is not in the application, as other users use the same version of the app without any problems and I also checked with app support. I used GPS Status app to check that difference.
