Working on Ubuntu 20.04. I want to root my device to uninstall some apps (.apk) and possibly also install Ubuntu Touch. I want to uninstall almost all Google apps because I don't have a Google account and I don't want to. Without a Google account, you cannot use most Google applications (Gmail, YouTube, Drive...).
A few months ago when I bought the device, I unlocked the bootloader, but I didn't have time to root it. Now I want to root it.
I followed these TWRP for Xiaomi Mi A3 instructions and cannot flash or boot the TWRP.img.
1. I downloaded: twrp-installer-3.4.0-0-laurel_sprout.zip and twrp-3.4.0-0-laurel_sprout.img renamed it to **twrp.img** and **twrp-installer.zip**.
2. I copied the files to the device in **/sdcard**

Mi App has silently taken over everything related to documents in my Gmail and printing in general in my phone. Whenever I do any action that is "an inch close to printing) then Mi App appears.
I cannot change it [in the usual way](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/47300/20449) because my Motorola Moto One / Android 10 (One) claims that Mi App has no defaults defined and so there is nothing to clear:
This is super-duper annoying because right now I am even not able to preview a .docx or .pdf attachment sent alongside some email, because each such tap instead of showing document preview, opens up Mi App claiming that there is no printer added.
How it is possible that some app is making some "silent" takeover of some action, without clearly showing this fact in Android's or app's configuration? Even more important -- how to get rid of this and bring the default action (of documents previews) to my Gmail?
**EDIT**: _Since this is Android on board Motorola device, it should be very close to stack Android without any significant changes from Motorola side._

Recently I bought a new phone (phone Y) - originally, I had been using WhatsApp as a dual app on someone else's phone (phone X), with a number whose SIM card was on a different cellphone (Phone Z). I was messaging people on phone X using the SIM card of phone Z, but when I saved contacts I saved it to a Gmail account instead. All was going well.
Then I wanted to switch over to using WhatsApp on Phone Y. As popularly advised, I went to the dual app on Phone X and backed up the data to Google Drive on my gmail account, but it never notified me of a finished backup. When I deleted the app on Phone X and installed it on Phone Y (which already knows and is linked the Gmail account), I keyed in the number of Phone Z (did not move the SIM because its not a microSIM, as required by Phone Y) and then it asked to give permission to access Google Drive for the backup. I gave it permission but then it said, no backup found.
True enough, I checked https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/backups and it said there were no backups. I then got suspicious and checked my Google Contacts too - turns out it hadn't saved any of the contacts there either.
Which means the app was never importing any data to the google account, and still won't. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening??

First time asking so please correct me if I am wrong,Also please suggest me title for this question
I have redmi 8 running miui 12 , Recently I cant install apps from playstore it keeps pending and after a while it show storage full . But I have plenty of space about 30GB out of 64GB . And when I try to install apk file , the package manager stop with a black screen and nothing happens .
I checked mobile storage and it display only "/"
After I click on storage it take about 4 minutes to calculate storage and then show actual storage that is "33gb/64Gb"
[![mi storage calculating storage]]
Edit -
The mobile also hangs a lot and it ram usage get high . 1 gb left out of 4gb
I tried debugging using adb and found that installd and system-server were consuming ram like 48% and 42%

Edit 2 - tried debugging (user app list generated by adebar)

I have a Mi A1 device which I didn't use for months and today I charged it to root for some work. I am sure Wifi was working earlier, but not sure about USB file transfer. (I didn't check wifi this time, just charged and started the rooting process)
I was able to unlock the bootloader and root the device and while I was in TWRP, I was able to transfer files from my PC to the android device. After rooting this device, I am seeing this
1. When I tried turning the wifi on, it automatically disables the wifi. I click the enable button and it automatically disables.
2. I wanted to connect the device using ADB, but when I connect the USB cable to the PC, its not showing up in ADB. Its not even showing in windows explorer where you can transfer files.
I am not sure how to solve this issue.

I'm using Xioami MI 9 SE. Over the past day or two, I've started experiencing mysterious crashes on startup with several applications, including a Radio receiver app (local to Israel); Opera occasionally, APKPure; and one or two others.
Now, I noticed other people experiences something similar on their Samsung phones, and also a few new items about a multi-app-crash issue:
Are your Android apps crashing? You’re not alone.
so I thought my situation may be related. However, the workaround suggested at the link doesn't work for me, since MIUI doesn't even show an "Android System Webview" app.
So, could it be the same issue? ANd - how do I restore my system to working order?
Note: Downloading and installating the latest APKPure version does not seem to resolve the crash.

How can I restore the browser button?
For some magical reason, the browser button on the home screen of my Android phone (Xiaomi MI 9 SE, MIUI 10.2) has gone missing. I can't find it! ... how can I restore/recreate it? Note I'm not talking about a specific browser (FF, Chromium etc) but the generic browser button.

My device is recognized in adb mode and in edl mode as well, only not in fastboot.

Is it possible to completely turn of the ability of my Redmi 6 (using MIUI 11 currently) to being discovered via Bluetooth by other devices? If yes, then how to achieve this?
Things I've tried or read so far:
* No corresponding system option (NFUI clone on my Neffos X9 still has it)
* [This answer](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/218122/20449) that is reported to not work under MIUI 10 so won't work most likely under MIUI 11
* Turning off [Bluetooth Scanning](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/csc99i/turn_off_bluetooth_visibility/) (turned off, no effect, device still discoverable)
* Using [Bluetooth Settings](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by4a.bluetoothsettings&gl=AT) 3rd party application
I had the biggest faith in last option (Bluetooth Settings app), but it fails completely under Readmi 6 / MIUI 11. Not only Bluetooth discoverability is turned on again when phone is restarted or Bluetooth is enabled, as it is written [here](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/218122/20449) .
It is also turned on again when any paired device connects to it or when Bluetooth Settings app is reopened again. So this is a completely false pathway.

I tried searching on various forums and couldnt found any similar case reported. I received Android 9 update Mi Box 3 last week. Since then i am facing a major issue of remote getting disconnected after a few hours of mi box's sleep.
I replaced the batteries on remote just to be safe but still, after 3-4 hours of sleep the device dont respond on remote's power button or any other button for that matter press.
Second surprising issue is the TV dont register MIBOX as a HDMI CEC valid device while the Mi Box is asleep.
**The above mentioned issues started after I updated Mi Box 3 to android 9 last week**

I am unable to use Whatsapp on Wifi of my home. I have a broadband ADSL router. Whose settigngs never changed. There are other people who use Wifi and their whatsapp works perfectly.
In my case it used to work but now it is giving problems. I am able to use internet using Wifi of my home on this Mi A3 phone. But I am not able to use whatsapp. I mean to say neither any message gets downloaded and neither any message is sent on whatsapp when I am connected to Wifi of my home. But when I switch on my data plan immediately all the messages which are pending to get delivered, in the que get delivered.
Also I receive the pending messages.I restarted the device after a restart I do get my whatsapp usable for 10 minutes on my Wifi. But after some time again the same situation is there.
I am using WhatsApp 2.20.108 (it is not business edition). The phone is android 9,model name M190F9SI.
What should I do?
