Background
1) Using a file explorer I can select an HTML file and it will start the default browser and then do its thing.
2) The HTML file is on an inserted SDCARD
3) In the browser, the HTML file takes some options and displays text relevant to those options
The reverse does not work (The Problem):
1) In a browser I enter the path for the HTML file shown by the file explorer
2) An example: the file explorer shows the path as **/storage/####-####/folder/filename.html**
3) In the browser I enter **file://** then the path above (####-#### is 8 numbers in two sets of 4)
4) This generates the response: "Access to the file was denied: it is not readable. may have been removed, moved or file permissions may be preventing access."
There is no user code
I wish to enter the file URL within the browser so it can be bookmarked for easy future access

I have an offline saved htm web page on sdcard to test Javascript. The default render on my phone seems to be HTML Viewer. But when I tried to open the page, the code didn't run. I know this because there's some html tag in the page I was added to detect this:
/* my Javascripts */
The current browser can't run Javascript.
which displays on the page: "The current browser can't run Javascript."
So how can I enable Javascript in HTML Viewer? Both Opera and Browser are somehow can't found out the file when I typed in the address textbox:
file://localhost/sdcard/page.htm
The problem exist on almost any phone. But the later just works on some of my phone. Another not.

Is there an app which accepts links like a browser, but will copy that link to the clipboard instead of downloading it?

In an effort to reduce my data consumption, I want to view webpages, specifically webpages with logins and forms, in text-only mode. These pages usually require JavaScript, it seems. I want very basic text-only mode. The browser "low-data/no images" options don't quite cut it for my goal of stretching 500MB over a month with frequent use.
Right now, I am using a mix of DuckDuckGo Lite, Textise, and Lynx in Termux for Android to bring my data consumption down to a minimum, but this doesn't work with websites that require JavaScript.
Does anyone know how I can accomplish having JavaScript enabled while still using very little bandwidth?

I can not access all webpages on my phone. While some are working fine, others simply show "Webpage not available".
This appears to be independent of the webbrowser. It's always the same webpages that won't work and they won't work with neither *mBrowser* nor *Tint Browser* and I have also experienced this on my mother's smartphone with the default browser.
This is not a matter of misspelling or being temporarily not available: I have been experiencing this for months now (not always - there were times when I was able to access those pages) and the webpages are reliably accessible from a computer.
This happens both when I am entering the URL manually as well as when clicking on a link from google.
Removing the battery or clearing Tint Browser's cache did not help.
some pages that are *not* accessible:
some pages that *are* accessible:
- google
- leo.org
- wikipedia.org
I am using Android 4.0.4 (CyanogenMod 9.1.0), mBrowser 12.0, Tint Browser 1.8 (10). My mother's phone was a Sony Experia with the preinstalled OS but I can't check the Android version because it got lost.

Typing text into the same textarea element on the same website with three browsers on my Android phone (Fairphone 4, Android 13) I have or not have spell checking as follows:
- Chrome: yes
- Firefox: no
- Duckduckgo: no
The information I found said to check the keyboard (gboard) and yes, it has spell checking enabled.
I couldn't find a setting in Firefox or Duckduckgo itself.
Does anyone have some insights where the problem could be: do those phone browsers just not have it, is it some setting still I might have messed up in the past?

I can also see under 'Settings' -> 'Site settings', there is an option to select 'All sites' and then pick a specific site. However, the site that has a cookie that I want to delete is not in that list (perhaps that list is only sites that have more than just cookies set?).
I also tried navigating to chrome://settings/cookies (which works in the desktop browser), but this doesn't work in the mobile browser.

I wondering if there's a browser that I can use Google websites in, such that Google will think I am logged in from a plain Linux device (f.e. like a Linux laptop).
Or perhaps there is a way to spoof it in Android such that Google will not see me as logged into an Android device.
The reason I want this is because whenever I log into a Google **website** in an Android browser (without logging into Google at the Android OS level, i.e. without a Google account in the Android OS), Google adds this device to my Security Settings, and forces me to use push-based 2-step verification as described here (with video):
https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/280192/which-android-browser-can-i-use-so-that-google-will-not-force-push-mfa
and this Google Issue report:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/389946229
As you can see from those links, the unwanted push-based 2-step verification locks me out from accessing passwords (and any other settings) on all other devices because my Android device will never receive a push notification prompt. (It is literally impossible to receive a prompt if I did not log into a Google account at the Android OS level!)
A workaround to this problem would be to prevent Google from knowing that I've logged into a website (which is not the Android OS) on an Android phone.
Is there a way to do this?
The goal: in My Google account's *Security Settings*, I do not want to see this Android device appear in the devices to which I am signed in when I log into a Google *website* on the device.

Soul browser (built on Chromium browser open-source), when I highlight a text on a webpage and the Context menu pops up, then I choose Web Search, but instead of opening a new tab with Google Search inside Soul browser, it opens in Google search app.
If I change the search engine to like Duck Duck Go, it still opens in the Google search app.
This is very annoying and I have searched for a solution for over a year. I even posted on Reddit and one other person has the same problem, https://www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/1cvp1oj/comment/m4ehgqk/?context=3 .
I am on Redmi Note 12 4G, Android 13, MIUI 14.0.12 (refuse to update to HyperOS).
The weird thing is, if I try the same in Chrome, Kiwi, or Brave, Web Search opens inside the respective browser as it should.
As a note: I have Soul browser on Redmi Note 7 (lavender) Android 11 and Redmi Note 8 (gingko) Android 12, Web Search opens inside Soul browser, which makes this very weird.
Anyone have a clue as to why this happens?
Google Search app setting to open inside browser is switched to OFF.
Is there a way to edit this myself, or any addon app that can redirect Web Search in Soul to open inside Soul - App developer is not fixing this problem, I have asked several times.
Besides this, Soul browser might be the best browser I have had, and I have tried them all.

I've found a post that I cannot comment on for lack of reputation .
Apparently, I must paste a line of script in the URL of the website, but I cannot seem to get it right whatsoever (I pasted it both before and after the URL).
I'd like to have a step-by-step tutorial of how to proceed, with some visuals, if this is still the only alternative available.

Cool reader is the closest. Though it:
* either crashes/gets out of memory, I don't know, on certain pages of a 3MB HTML file (3MB is not that much, actually, for a 50MB free memory).
* or doesn't support links to files lying in the same directory/zip file (in a form: ``)
Are there any other options around?

It appears that once a PWA (Progressive Web App) is installed, and then deleted, it can not be installed again.
1. On Android, clicking on
Save to Home Screen
shows an option to Install
.
2. If this PWA is deleted from the home screen.
3. Clicking on Save to Home Screen
no longer shows an option to Install
.
I have tested this on Android S20 and S24. And also on iPhone 11.
1. I have restarted the phone.
2. The PWA does not appear in Settings-> Apps
, so nothing can be deleted.
Is there a way to get around this?

I do not understand why when I open web.whatsapp.com in a browser it takes so long to load and even reload!. I have not seen this problem with any of my friends and I tried myself with a different account it does not take that long.
Here is a video that shows it takes a short time with one account and here is a video that takes a long time with my main account. It takes 15 seconds longer at least!
I thought it might be because my WhatsApp backup files are very big, but I believe many people should then have the same problem. I also tried on many different browsers, deleted my backups and reset them and even reinstalled the app.
I attached a picture of the WhatsApp files on my phone maybe that helps, I use google drive backup on both accounts.

Whenever my Dad opens the Google app after his Samsung phone being off, a random website opens in Chrome through a floating window.
I have two separate text files taken right after from the "dumpsys activity activities" command, but I can't seem to find what app is actually opening it.
What would I need to look for in the files and is there anything else I can do to try and find the bad app? If anyone wants, I could upload the files somewhere and attach them here.
I have attached the output through Google Docs if anyone wants to look at it.
