I have an offline saved htm web page on sdcard to test Javascript. The default render on my phone seems to be HTML Viewer. But when I tried to open the page, the code didn't run. I know this because there's some html tag in the page I was added to detect this:
/* my Javascripts */
The current browser can't run Javascript.
which displays on the page: "The current browser can't run Javascript."
So how can I enable Javascript in HTML Viewer? Both Opera and Browser are somehow can't found out the file when I typed in the address textbox:
file://localhost/sdcard/page.htm
The problem exist on almost any phone. But the later just works on some of my phone. Another not.

When I opened multiple pages/tabs on the Opera Mini 7.5, I pressed the home button to switch apps to see SMS, then returned to the Opera app by holding the Home button. Suddenly, my opened tabs were missing, just like opening a new tab.
There is a task-killer application, but I can't remove it. This application has been installed as a default application in the Android phone. I was trying to delete some of the system apps, but there was no option saying "Delete" or "Uninstall". I also turned off all the Developer Options.
How to keep the Opera Browser's tabs active when switching to another application?

I installed Opera Mini and was surprised at how slow it was to open. I figured out this was because it was automatically filling the home page with "Yahoo"-style random news headlines.
I couldn't find any way to turn this off. Long-pressing on the panel of headlines didn't give any "remove" option, the "Customise" button at the bottom of the feed didn't allow turning off the feed even when I deselected every type of story, and the only relevant thing I could see in the settings menus (Advanced > Feeds) was already set to disabled.
Searching online, all I could find was people on Opera forums being snarky at anyone who didn't want this feature, or, guides for different versions of Opera that don't apply to Opera Mini. Some sources say it's impossible. Is it?

How to block Opera mini "AdSense" interstitial ads?

Sometime back, I noticed that whenever I browse the web I frequently see very intrusive pop-ups (ranging from facebook ads and other promotional material which appear in dialog box-like pop ups) which show an odd link in the address bar, something like:
http://interstitial.opera-mini.net:31222/adsense/default.html?continue=wpob://hide/7ezagro6ztqtdenl_id=GLOBAL%23onboarding%23adsense
I don't recall experiencing this before, also I am still using the version as before (20.122xxxx) never updated it. Ironically I have the built-in Ad-blocker enabled, but still they still show (ads).
I can't figure out how to block **these specific** "interstitial adsense ads". Is there any other way to achieve this on android ?
**Edit 1**: I tried disabling the data saving features as suggested by Death Mask Salesman, but the problem persists. This leaves me to think the "adsense ads" are hosted on **particular websites** and not necessarily the server being used by opera mini, but then again the ad block functionality of the browser should be able block these with ease. Shouldn't it?
**Edit 2:**
I tried using **Opera mini beta**, to find out if servers were responsible, strangely during my first few weeks of use (around 2 weeks) these " interstitial ads" never came, but only started appearing again recently.
This is a bit confusing as to what could be the cause but I suspect server issues (since during early days of using opera mini beta I never encountered the ads, but perhaps the server was changed to the regular one used by release builds, then the problem resurfaced?
If the latter is true then perhaps the real question is **why Opera mini's ad blocker doesn't block self-generated ads?**

Opera recently upgraded itself, and for some reason the update installed the Hebrew version with Hebrew menus (that's not completely surprising, since my phone is in Hebrew, but it's partly surprising, because the previous version was in English). The problem is that Opera did a bad job of translating their browser to Hebrew, because Hebrew is written right-to-left, but the menus are all left-to-right.
How can I change the language of the menus and settings in Opera to be in English?
For the record, if it's relevant, I have a Samsung Galaxy S with Froyo.

I have tried many times to change my phone browser from the stock android to Opera mini... As you all know the stock browser is slow and unresponsive.
Before I get overloaded with comment: YES I HAVE CLEARED THE DEFAULT FOR THE STOCK BROWSER THEN TRIED CLICKING ON A LINK. And: NO it has not asked me what browser I want to use. IT just opens in stock.
I then tried installing Firefox. I did the whole process again. I went to open a link and hit "open in browser" and what do you know, it opened up in firefox! This was great to see.
Unfortunately I can't get this to work for opera. Although firefox mobile is great I have a preference towards opera. If anyone knows of a solution to this I would apreciate it greatly.

I assume this maybe is because those are considered HTML video tags, and hence are treated differently?
In any event, is it possible to turn those off, too? Some other setting (I looked but didn't find any, but maybe I just missed it).

I can connect to the school's campus wifi, but when I try to get on Opera, it will not let me connect to any website. Apps that use the internet do not work. I get bars on the wifi. Usually, on the first connect from a new device, it will ask me to register my device. I am guessing that since I haven't registered with the new device, I cannot access the internet with any apps. The problem is that I usually get the page that asks me to register my new device when I try to connect to a website. Opera doesn't take me to that site, though. The wifi works on all other devices.
Edit: When I connect to the home wifi, it works.

I already downloaded the apk, but to install Opera Mini it needs connection to download itself. There is anyway I can install it without internet connection on my tablet? There is a full apk? If you have can you post the link for download or upload by yourself?
Thanks in advance.

In **Opera Mini** I found it easy to just delete

> /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/databases
but unfortunately, Opera Mini in it's current version has a bug and doesn't work on most devices.
**Edit:**
Another approach I tried is to kill the Opera process, then set an entry in the **opera.ini**, referring to http://www.opera.com/support/usingopera/operaini/#private :
[Clear Private Data Dialog]
CheckFlags=1023
but it doesn't cause Opera to clear the history and cache after a restart.
