I've checked the stock browser thoroughly, but could not find anything like the
Export
feature found in desktop browsers.
Would appreciate some help, since I have a ton of book marks on my phone, and need them on my PC.

No root. Browser was stopped and cache cleaned several time. Nothing was installed before this. The mentioned site contains AdSDK apk-files.

My Motorola XOOM is having a few problems relating to internet and google accounts. Firstly, whenever I try to sign into any app using a gmail account, it gives
**"Your username and password don't match. Try again."**
alongside an account recovery info link. I've tried several existing accounts, as well as creating a new account. Secondly, any website I've tried to open from a Browser search gives
**"There are problems with the security certificate for this site."**
It's a very old device, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are issues with support being dropped, and I read that google play (Play Store on this thing) can cause issues on Android. I've tried a factory data reset and several restarts. It's on Android 4.0.4, and the device says it's up to date. I'm a bit experienced with electronics in general, but unfortunately networks/internet/connectivity is the one thing I'm lost in - please let me know if I missed anything.
Edit-
Play Store is currently on version 3.4.7.
Motorola XOOM MZ602, to be precise, on Android 4.0.4

file:///mnt/sdcard

Apparently different machines mount the SD card to a different path. How can I find out which path my SD card is mounted to? Or if that's not the problem, what is?

I have always used the included Silk Browser on a Kindle Fire 5th Generation to play YouTube videos. Inexplicably sometime in the last week, it stopped working. The video playback window plays the ad just fine, then briefly shows the spinning wheel loading thing, then displays the strange symbol seen here:
*Screenshot of Kindle Fire. On screen is a YouTube page with a strange icon in the playback window. The Kindle screen orientation is portrait mode. The YouTube video is not on full screen. The YouTube page is opened in the Silk Browser app. This particular video is an episode of Jay Leno's Garage. Two suggested videos are also visible, both of them also Jay Leno.*
The device does not seem to have taken an update recently, and does not seem to require an update. These screenshots show some device configuration information.
*Screenshot of Kindle Fire "Device Options" screen. The Device Model is Fire 5th Generation. Battery is 93%. The following notification icons are seen at the top of the screen: screenshot captured, PC connected via USB, wifi connected with full signal strength, time is 8:46. The Device Name is redacted. The Find Your Tablet switch is ON. The serial number is G000 H404 5496....and the last four characters of the serial number are redacted. Developer options are enabled.*
You can see I have Developer options enabled, but the only thing I did here was set the screen to stay awake during charging, animators are set to 0.5x, and strict mode is enabled. I have had these same settings for years, no recent changes.
*Screenshot of Kindle Fire "System Updates" screen. You can see that the device is running Fire OS 5.3.6.4 (626533320). The build date is November 12, 2018. There are no updates available. The top notification bar shows the same notifications as the previous picture, except that the clock displays 8:48.*
Internet searches for this problem only lead to companies trying to push me to install their app which is outside the Kindle store, and some "bootleg" YouTube apps within the Kindle store. I'm not inclined to do either one of these unless it is necessary. This is my kids' device, and the adult account I am using does not have any apps other than what it came with, not even from the Kindle store.
I did a reverse image search on Google and did not find this icon/symbol anywhere.
The ads play fine. After the ad ends and it tries to load the video proper is when this happens.
Does this strange symbol tell me what is wrong with playing videos and how I may be able to fix it?

I'm using Android's built in stock web browser (Froyo 2.2 if it matters), and when I choose "Share page" from the menu, I get a list of like 15 different apps.
Of those, I only ever use 2-3, and 99% of the time I use Gmail, which happens to be near the end of the list.
1. How does Android browser compile that list?
2. Is there a way to:
- Control which applications appear in the list?
- Sort the list the way I would want to?
The phone is rooted, so I'm perfectly fine if the answer is "Get a file from filesystem in this location and edit its contents".
Also, I don't necessarily need the answer to be 100% permanent - meaning, that if installing an application update will re-add the app to the list, I can live with that.

I have a fresh Android 5.1 phone with two separate Google accounts already configured. I just started up the Android Browser and got a confirmation dialog about whether I want to allow Google to use SID and LSID cookies. The popup also referred some kind of Terms and Services document, but wasn't too specific about it. Didn't do anything about it, just went back to the home screen.
On second browser startup, the original confirm dialog was replaced by a popup showing an hourglass animation, and some status message about Google authentication being in progress.
On third browser startup, it just navigated to the factory default homepage.
Questions:
1. What exact permissions did the browser / Google request on the first startup? What are the pros/cons for accepting / rejecting access? (I don't really know what a SID/LSID cookies are for, so please be verbose.)
2. Is there a way to change my mind later on? Where should I look for this configuration option?
3. Why did the confirmation dialog not show up on the second and third browser startups?
(Note: someone asked question 1. on the AndroidCentral forum 4 years ago, no answers received as of yet... )

*Android - how to extract/backup your phone contact list and browser favorites (stock browser, not chrome) - a modern **Samsung** smartphone.*
Hi, I am grateful for any replies (pls note that we always talk about a non-rooted device, and I have no desire to root it, & I have no desire to use the inherent google-backup methods):
1) How can I extract my entire **contacts** list in a way to be able to import it again to another similar Samsung phone? Any way to do it without using an App for it as workaround? If there is no way around an app, which app(s) would you suggest are considered to be very "safe" and 100% non-malicious?
2) The same question - this time for **calendar** items extraction?
3) Finallly the same question for my Android Stock *Browser bookmarks* (not chrome)? Both, the bookmarks which are available in the "Normal" browser mode, and the bookmarks which are separately stored in the "private" browser mode.
If you know also of a way to doing one of those 3 things but without the ability to import again to another phone, this is also very helpful. My prime interest is in backing up, and if I can import again to another Phone, even better.
Thanks for any technical explanations!

One of the touted features of Android 5 is the updates of WebView through Google Play.
The official documents state:
> The initial release for Android 5.0 includes a version of Chromium for WebView based on the Chromium M37 release...
and:
> Although WebView has been based on Chromium since Android 4.4, the Chromium layer is now updatable from Google Play.
1. Does it mean that the default built-in "Android Browser" is now actually Chromium M37 after updating to Android 5.0?
2. Does it mean that the default "Android Browser" auto-updates itself like the evergreen browsers on desktop? Assuming Play Store account is set up.
After updating a Samsung Galaxy S4 to Android 5.0, What's My User Agent? shows that the default Internet Browser is "Chrome 34". What's going on?

I would like to get rid of the stock browser (org.lineageos.jelly) on my phone that runs LineageOS. Other threads and sites already go into the details of removing pre-installed apps with/without root but I am wondering if there are any risks of removing the browser in particular? For instance, is the Android System WebView implementation in any way tied to the stock browser? (I'd still want to be able to use apps that use WebView.) More generally, is there anything else I'd affect by removing the stock browser?

With a productivity lock in place with an access code that is set by someone else, the phone user cannot directly open the "stock browser" unless Android asks:
> Sign into public wifi network
if I happen to connect to such a network that requires signing in. That is as intended, At the same time I am trying to disable the user access to the "stock browser" from any other app such as Slack.
To be clear: Slack has a button that disables opening links with the "stock browser", but that does not prevent the user access to the "stock browser" as the user can go to
settings>advanced settings>flip that button that prevents access
.
Therefore I have the following **question**:
*How can one prevent certain apps from opening the "stock browser" in LineageOS 14.1?*
Currently my options consist of:
1. Modifying all apps to such an extend that that function is not possible to re-enable once it has been disabled.
2. Finding a setting that allows only specific apps to open the stock browser.
3. Finding an app that enforces such control settings.
Neither of the 3 approaches have yet led to successful blocking of "stock browser"-access.

----
I have a Sony Xperia E3 running Android 4.4.2, and after using AppInventor for some time the inbuilt browser (aka the stock Android browser) has taken up a large amount of storage space with the cache.
Since the stock browser technically isn't installed I can't access the menu to clear the cache.
Is there any way to clear the cache without factory resetting/rooting?

I am doing research on mobile web design for an upcoming project and part of what I need to find is the marketshare of mobile browsers so we can determine which ones we will support. I have found statistics of mobile browser marketshare but I now need to clarify exactly what I am seeing.
I see statistics for "Android Browser 4.0" and I *assume* it is the stock browser for Android 4.x devices. But if that were true I would expect to see statistics for an "Android Browser 2.0" or "Android Browser 3.0" in the statistics but I do not. I can't imagine that all Android 2.x users don't surf the Internet or use non-default browsers so it appears that my assumption is incorrect.
So what is the name/version number of the stock browser in Android 2.3 (or all 2.x) devices?

How could I export or backup my bookmarks in the LineageOS 14.1 default browser?
- Several apps failed to retrieve bookmarks
- The name of the browser doesn't appear anywhere in the browser itself
-
find /data/data | grep browser
through adb doesn't give anything interesting
- find /data/fata | grep "db$"
does neither
- Google doesn't help
It's a shame there isn't an "Export" option in the settings
