I'm on a Thinkpad with Android 4.0.2 trying to open an HTML file on an SD card, using the default browser. Answers here have indicated you should access file:///mnt/sdcard, file:///mnt/sdcard-ext, file:///sdcard, and many other combinations, but none of them work for me: I just get "Webpage not available". Apparently different machines mount the SD card to a different path. How can I find out which path my SD card is mounted to? Or if that's not the problem, what is?

I have a TB-X304L. I rooted this guy with magisk and whenever I try to write or try to change permissions of the /system directory, the tablet just freezes and I have to reboot it with long pressing power and the volume up button. I can't even make changes to the build.prop file. The same happens when tried with adb. I could get root access in adb shell. when I try,

cat > testfile.txt

it says read only partition. So, I mounted it with rw permission command

mount -o remount,rw /system

it runs smoothly. But when I try

cat > testfile.txt

again and type some text for the test file and press Ctrl+D, it freezes. I am new to all these please help me guys.

I need to purchase a tablet for on the move access to web, video, book reading etc. I am a Thinkpad fan so I would like to go for Lenovo Thinkpad. However I have some questions regarding it, which seems to be related more with Android itself than the hardware. 1. Thinkpad tablet has USB port, so can we use external USB modem (e.g. MTS MBlaze, Tata Photon in India) with it to connect to internet. On some forums it is said that Android does not have drivers of USB modem, so we can use USB modems with any Android tablet in the market even if they contain full USB port. What is the current state of Android on this? 2. A bit on hardware side, Thinkpad contains SIM slot and it is only yesterday when Lenovo has added Gobi chip for 3G capability. So, what was the use of that SIM card slot before that chip?

The manual for the Lenovo ThinkPad doesn't say that it has a Kensington-like lock device on it, so are there any other ways for me to secure it against thieves? I'd like to secure my tablet against the knobs that you can secure Kensington locks around. I know that Kensington locks aren't completely secure, but they can at least deter the vast majority of thieves.

I just got my Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet. It does not have a GSM/UMTS/3G module but there is an SMS/MMS icon. What is the purpose of this app? Does Android allow me to send and receive SMS/MMS over my Wifi Internet connection, or is it just a leftover? I am not interested *in any alternatives* to the stock app. I am more curious if it serves any purpose on a device without a UMTS module and if so, how to configure and use it. So the questions could also be phrased like: **What purpose serves the stock Android SMS app on an tablet without GSM/UMTS module?**
