How do I restore the history for the Chrome browser? Do I need to root the device to access the history file and roll it back to a previous time? I was told that there is the possibility that this wasn't a complete delete since that isn't the case with SQL databases. I wrote a post in the Google product forums for Chrome regarding how to export my Android's Chrome browser's format in a readable format with clickable links/time accessed, etc. Unfortunately, the advice I was given was essentially, "try sync again." I had tried this several times which did not result in the phone's history getting synced to my account. Because the email I was using was an institutional email, I tried signing into a different email, which instead led to my browser history becoming inaccessible or deleted. I am not sure which. Usually, when I just sign out of the Google account in Chrome, the browser history is restored. I had found a few threads regarding the location of the history data and others asking how to restore lost tabs and history (e.g. how can I fetch Chrome history in Android 6 Marshmallow? How to export Android Chrome browser history in a file? Retrieve history from Google Chrome on Android, https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/110053/export-chrome-history-in-android) but they either only have a few, general replies, or none at all. In case it's relevant: - Phone model: Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (SAMSUNG-SM-G870A Build/MMB29M) - Chrome version: 59.0.3071.125 - Android version: 6.0.1

I recently came across FamiSafe , a child monitoring app, through one of my friends which gives a lot of information about the activities of the mobile phone. I was awestruck as it gives a detailed information about the location, browser history, etc. That got me thinking: * how is it possible for an application to access what websites are visited through a browser? * How is it possible for this app to know that a person has searched or visited a website and record it and show the same in the application? * Does this app interact with the OS for website data? Since it gives data irrespective of browsers I assume it has nothing to do with the browser used. Instead, it has to be something directly to be dealt with. Anyone has any idea how this works? The device is OnePlus 5 running Android 7.

In Chrome, I can find options to synchronize bookmarks, passwords, web search (nice feature) but nothing about my web history synchronization. Am I missing an obvious option ? Is there an external application that could do that or should I try to synchronize manually my history ? This is particulary annoying when doing a search in my desktop Chrome, looking for some results, trying one website, another... then later doing the same research on one of my Android device and re-trying the same websites and discover after loading that I already visited this site with no luck.

However, I am only able to see history of websites visited using google chrome, but not other browsers. I am basically using two browsers only that are google chrome and CM Browser. I am able to see history of websites visited on chrome browser, but not CM Browser. One more interesting and important thing! CM browser only stores the history of websites that user visted 2 days ago or the same day the browser was used to visit website. Is there any way I could see history of visited websites on all browsers of my phone?

So eager to hear a sooner response.

Therefore, I'm looking for a solution which does not require root access.

My estranged wife has possession of my phone. I locked her out of Gmail access as soon as possible. Despite my efforts I can't view from my PC in my security settings how much recent activity she saw on my Gmail and what she was browsing while on my device. I'm afraid that my opportunity to obtain this info has passed because I didn't check the history before I signed out of all devices. Is there still hope ?

I'm looking for a way to retrieve timestamps of my download history at the full precision that they are stored at, preferably to at least second precision. Unfortunately though, without obtaining root permission over my phone, I don't have access to my own user data at /data/, so I'm trying to figure out a way to do this through Firefox using JavaScript. Situation: I made the big mistake of moving pictures and videos from the internal storage of my phone to a microSD card using Android's stock tool to do so (‘Settings’ → ‘Storage’ → ‘Transfer data to SD card’). Unfortunately, this bumped the timestamps of all of the files, and also messed around with directories other than DCIM/ (images and videos were also moved from the Download/, image/, Pictures/, and video/ directories). In hindsight it seems silly that I used such a tool (I'd normally use Ghost Commander ), but it appeared as a notification when running low on internal storage space and it just looked so easy. I've since been trying to piece back together the timestamps of the various images and videos. I have restored the timestamps of photos and recorded videos in DCIM/100ANDRO/ based on timestamps in their embedded metadata (see this Unix & Linux Q/A ), and I've figured out how to restore the timestamps of all of the images and videos in the image/, Pictures/, and video/ directories, but I'm still stuck with how to restore the images in Download/. The embedded metadata of these files isn't going to help me to restore their timestamps, because I want to restore them back to when I *obtained* the file (i.e. downloaded it), so I need to get access to my Firefox data and obtain the download timestamps. Once I have the timestamps, I'll then be able to touch the files to approximately the correct timestamp that they had before Android lost them. I'm using mobile Firefox 27.0 on Android 4.3.

I used to have the Chrome app with more or less 40 open tabs for some months. I opened it pretty often and it always restored all the tabs, until yesterday. I opened Chrome by mistake while I was having connection issues and it was not able to restore all my tabs. The next time I opened it, it only restored 5 tabs and the others seem to be gone. I tried searching for my tabs in Chrome history but I wasn't able to find them, instead I only see all the tabs opened in my other devices (PCs, Tablet, ecc.). I also tried to search for my tabs in the browsing history of my Google account, but I wasn't able to find them there neither: it seems that Chrome didn't load for real most of the tabs. Is there a way to recover my open tabs? Does Chrome have a local history (opposed to the general history of the Google account which contains browsing history of all the devices used with that account)?

When typing a URL into my Cyanogenmod phone's browser, as I type, it suggests URL(s) from prior browsing that match what I have typed, similarly, when on a Google web search page, if I begin to type in a search string, the phone offers prior searches that match what I have typed in thus far in a drop down list from which you can select. This is a great feature, but sometimes, I want to take the prior history and modify it slightly or append to it. This is especially common with a search where I want to add more words to my prior search. Is there anyway to somehow select one of the suggestions without immediately invoking it and thus allowing me to edit it slightly before submission?
