Mi App has silently taken over everything related to documents in my Gmail and printing in general in my phone. Whenever I do any action that is "an inch close to printing) then Mi App appears.
I cannot change it [in the usual way](https://android.stackexchange.com/a/47300/20449) because my Motorola Moto One / Android 10 (One) claims that Mi App has no defaults defined and so there is nothing to clear:
This is super-duper annoying because right now I am even not able to preview a .docx or .pdf attachment sent alongside some email, because each such tap instead of showing document preview, opens up Mi App claiming that there is no printer added.
How it is possible that some app is making some "silent" takeover of some action, without clearly showing this fact in Android's or app's configuration? Even more important -- how to get rid of this and bring the default action (of documents previews) to my Gmail?
**EDIT**: _Since this is Android on board Motorola device, it should be very close to stack Android without any significant changes from Motorola side._

I am running Android One 9 on a Xiaomi Mi A3 and am trying to stop it from using IPv6 DNS servers, as they are essentially turning my RPI4 running Pi-Hole into a useless lump of silicon. How can I do this without having the phone ignore my instructions??
I have tried setting the WiFi connection to use a static IP and DNS info, as well as both the
sudo sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.wlan0.disable_ipv6=1
and the older echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/wlan0/disable_ipv6
commands but to no avail...the file retains the value 0
and my phone insists on using one IPv4 and one IPv6 DNS server no matter what I try!
Please help me end this madness! MTIA :-)

I have been using my phone to make contactless payments for about 2 years now. I could always access my virtual cards through the quick settings menu. To be honest I don't remember exactly how I set it up initially, but I didn't have the Google Wallet App installed before this issue occured.
When I wanted to pay today, I realized that the Wallet tile is greyed out. A quick online search did not provide any information other than it may be regionally locked.
After that I installed the Google Wallet app and upon opening it both my virtual cards show up just fine. I just can't get the Quick setting tile to work. I've also tried clearing all Google services' caches to no avail.
My phone is a Nokia XR20 with Android 13 and Quickstep as Launcher (Android One)
How can I activate my quick setting tile again?

I fumbled my phone just now and somehow accidentally disabled a feature I depend on, which has worked fine for years: Voice Recorder stays on-screen when screen is locked.
Now the app is unusable while the screen is locked (i.e.: it behaves just like every other app).
I'm trying to figure out what I checked or unchecked in my haphazard attempt to snatch my phone before it hit the ground.
I've looked thru the settings, but the closest thing I've found is "display over other apps", which doesn't seem to do what I want.

Why do Android One devices not have a standard Recorder app? I know there are many available from the Play Store but would have thought a recorder to be a standard app common to all Android devices.

Force 3G mode on dual-SIM Android One phones

Every app in my phone (Xiaomi Mi A2, Android One) that implements Credit Card auto-fill still shows my old credit card information even though I have already (a) replaced all my payment information in my google account a few weeks ago, (b) used 'Scan a new card' feature every time this auto-fill feature pops up and (c) cleared cache and storage of the app that used this feature.
Do you know where these credit card information are kept and where can I reset them?
Note: The credit card info above were purposefully blurred.
**Other Notes**
Out of curiosity, when I select any of those old credit cards, I get an error popup
Request failed: An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later [OR-PMIA-18]
This is expected as I have removed them from my google account.

My phone gets reaaaally slow internet connection every few months and stays that way until I factory reset it. It only happens on wifi, not on data. The wifi is fine, other devices connect to it perfectly. It happens across apps (youtube, browser, banking apps) and it's actually quite unusable.
It is clearly a software issue, since resetting the phone gets everything back and running smoothly again. It runs smooth for 3-4 months or so before I need to reset again.
This has happened a few times in the past, but I always solved it by Factory resetting it. However, that is pretty annoying since I have to set everything up from scratch (internet banking, etc).
Does anyone have any ideas about what I could do to solve that? Does anyone else have that problem?

So my gf and I both have the Xiaomi Mi A2, her works perfectly, but when I tried to setup mine, I realized I had no data connection.
In order to make it work with my provider, I must configure a new custom APN but for some reason, the button to add a new one is missing. I´ve checked, however, my gf's mobile, despite being apparently the same in every aspect, she has such button.
Then I thought there must be some differences between both devices operating system's version, so I wonder if is there a way to compare both to check what I'm missing in order to have the option that I need?
If not, any way to fix this would be really appreciated.
Thank you in advance

. But now, I'm having an issue. When I lock my phone, and unlock it, after pressing the power button, or the volume button, the icons will be too big, just like on the screenshot above. Sometimes, the battery indicators font changes too, and becomes very big. I found a forum post on XDA and Reddit , and they have the same issue with me. Is this a bug/issue with the phone, or android 10? Is there anything I can do? Any solution? Maybe ADB can fix this issue?

After wondering for a lot of years I recently got a fair idea on what is the difference between stock android, android one and many other custom rom. Now I want to play around with it and was thinking to install Grapheneos. I have a Motorola One Power. Now the question is: say I mess up while installing Grapheneos or say I did install it successfully and decide to switch back to Android One, how do I do it? I tried searching online but couldn't find anything. All I got was to install android one "experience" which is basically just installing a launcher.
One more thing, since Android updates are directly given by Google for all the phones, why do I have to download the OS for a phone from it's manifactrer's website instead of downloading it from the android website?
(someone posted a duckduckgo search for what I asked which is kind of what I was looking for, I found a Motorola page for the custom ROM for my device.)
Also, do you guys have any tips before I go on installing? By the way, I am a Linux user if that concerns in any to the question.

I have Xiaomi Mi A2 and yesterday when I was using it, it started to restart continuously only loading the android one logo then crashing again. I've tried things like holding down power+voldown and power+volup to reach the safe boot, but the thing is that it restarts again before even loading it. I also though the power on button might be stuck so I've tried to click it through multiple times but does not seem so. I also tried removing SIMs. I did not install anything new in a long time. It discharged itself after multiple hours of repeated restarts.
Anyone has the same experience and would know what to do? Also is there a way to at least wipe the phone contents somehow before returning it to the shop?

**tl;dr**: _Every setup that I tried so far ends up with "Charging rapidly" or "Charging slowly" on my Motorola One. What kind of charger (or power source) and cable should I use in order to charge this phone at a standard charging pace?_
-----
I was always told that to charge phone rapidly / use QC etc. you need:
- correct rather good quality cable,
- proper charger, 2 A at output at minimum.
The thing is that on my Motorola One I am getting "Charging rapidly" even on cheap 0.5 USD cable connected to:
- 1 A charger (which needs 5-6 hours on other phones),
- 2.0 and 2.4 A charger (which charges other phones in about 2-3 hours) and
- 10 A QC 3.0 charger (which charges other phones in about 1+ hour)
Actually my Motorola One is the only mobile device (out of 15+) in my home that reports "charging rapidly" on every of above setup, even on cheap cable and 1.0 A charger (which isn't able to quickly-charge any other device).
On the other hand, when I connect it to a regular (non-QC) USB, I am always getting "charging slowly", even on very new and expensive PCs (which are told to have 1 A on USB) and even on high-quality, QC-ready cables.
So my question is, what is the correct setup to charge Motorola One "normally"? Is it possible at all in case of this device?
This question is entirely on getting correct setup to charge Motorola One neither quickly nor slowly (if possible). I don't want to discuss here any related issues like "quickly charging doesn't make your battery weaker anymore, so why you're asking, go ahead and quickly charge every time". Please, don't post comments like that. Thank you.

*What’s the rationale for having the stock boot image dump beforehand?*
If the rationale is to have a backup when something goes wrong, then strictly having a stock boot image dump is not necessary for running Magisk.
Furthermore, it is unclear to me how to create that dump.
PS: My plan is to root the Xiaomi A2, to be able to directly interface with USB OTG devices from within Termux . The Xiaomi A2 is an Android One device.

What are the restrictions (without Google account) except that i can't use Google cloud services and Play Store? For both there are alternatives.

TWRP 3.2.3 asks for a decrypt password at startup, which I never set.
Ignoring with 'cancel' leads to the main menu, but then the internal
storage is marked as 0 byte (e.g. when trying to backup), which is not the case.
I understand this is related to default encryption of the data partition
(correct?) by Android (my phone has Android One).
Is there a default password?
The PIN/password used to login into the regular OS do **NOT** work.
I've seen many answers saying so (e.g.
[here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/204831/twrp-internal-storage0-mb) or
[here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/196488/setting-finding-android-7-encryption-password)
),
it is not true (at least for my version of
Android). I tried with numerical PIN, password, or nothing (each time going
back to factory reset), and nothing worked in TWRP.
I know there are other related questions, but none of the answer provides
details or seem confident enough:
[here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/168911/does-twrp-recovery-support-encrypted-data-partition/168996#168996)
[here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/187385/nexus-5-in-boot-loop)
[here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/201468/how-to-fix-bootloop-or-decrypt-data-in-twrp)
[This answer](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/201044/twrp-password-decrypt-storage/201106#201106) refers to a misterious "disable force encryption"
package, which I've also read about in other posts.
Is it really the way to go? What exactly is that package? And what does it do?
Can I not completely disable encryption in Android OS?
---
Extra:
I want to mention that I manged to circumvent the problem temporarily, by recreating the data filesystem within TWRP. This of course wipes out your data, but at least afterwards TWRP sees your internal storage and one can do a backup of the system. However, upon reboot the phone gets stuck in the initial loading (white screen with color bar in Android one), so I have to reboot again to the stock recovery and do a reset. Which brings back encryption, and I am back to square 1.
