Can't use Google Wallet on my Google Pixel 3a

I have a Google Pixel 3a with Android 12, version March 2022. I wanted to add a credit card to Gogle Wallet, and finally got this error (freely translated from french): > Cannot configure this device for contactless payment Reading the associated help page I controlled that: - my device hasn't been rooted - NFC is active - but under Play Protect certification I see "The device is not certified" This sounds pretty strange since it is a Google device! On the web I found that exactly this version (12, March 2022) had a bug about the Google certification for this device (Pixel 3a). So I presume it's the reason of my problem. And probably next version corrects this bug, but ironically I was notified that this version is the very last update for my device! Should I try to go back to an older version, and how to do it? Or is there another solution?

Trying to use ETEKJOY ACR122U to add NFC to non-NFC Android phones. How's about app: MTools - Mifare ACR122 PN532?

The Motorola MOTO G PLAY is one of the very last Android phones that gets delivered (by XFinity Mobile) with no NFC capability. And yes, of course, I've got one. After numerous updates it runs Android 13. So along comes Ticketmaster with an ALL-NFC TICKET system. Tickets get stored in GOOGLE-WALLET. Frankly I'd rather spend $35 for a USB connected ACR122U run through an app than drop $150 to upgrade the phone. And when I do swap out the phone, move the ACR122U and download its app. Minimize security and data vulnerabilities. But is the MTools - Mifare ACR122 PN532 app up to it ?

For early Android phones lacking NFC does the ACR122U 13.56MHz Contactless Smart Card Reader-Writer add usable NFC?

How to prevent Samsung wallet from intercepting digital key setup, and do it in Google wallet instead
I use Google wallet for payments on my s23 ultra. I would like to add a digital car key, but the Samsung wallet app keeps hijacking the setup process. The Samsung wallet app is not even installed. How do I get it to stop interrupting and allow Google wallet to handle the key registration?

I have been using my phone to make contactless payments for about 2 years now. I could always access my virtual cards through the quick settings menu. To be honest I don't remember exactly how I set it up initially, but I didn't have the Google Wallet App installed before this issue occured. When I wanted to pay today, I realized that the Wallet tile is greyed out. A quick online search did not provide any information other than it may be regionally locked. After that I installed the Google Wallet app and upon opening it both my virtual cards show up just fine. I just can't get the Quick setting tile to work. I've also tried clearing all Google services' caches to no avail. My phone is a Nokia XR20 with Android 13 and Quickstep as Launcher (Android One) How can I activate my quick setting tile again?

I use google wallet for paying with my phone in stores. Recently I downloaded a new app (via my credit card provider- I gain credits that I can use as money) and I would like to use it as a **secondary** payment app. My issue is that this new app won't allow me to use it unless I make it my default payment app. I wanted to know if this is a general requirement or something I should contact the support to fix. I want to continue to use google as my default payment app, unless I specifically want to use the new app. Is that at all possible?

Weirdest shenanigan: I just installed Lineage 18 and gapps, then Google Wallet (from the store). But the wallet does not get installed: the defunct **Google Pay** takes its place ! Problem is: this Google Pay detects the root. Wallet used to work (after all the root hiding modules) And now it got worse, the app is giving that error message: *Google pay is currently updating so you won't be able to access the app* Can't even attempt to use it Wiping data, dalvik, etc doesn't change anything The ROM and device is from this question here Also asked the ROM developers to see if they have a clue **Feb 4:** Tried making the app system (using the Systemizer module), but no difference. Also noticed that just right after installing the app, **both** the Wallet and the Pay coexist on the app drawer. For a moment, though: if I choose wallet, it disappears and runs the Pay

I know that Square, for instance, makes payment card readers you can attach to phones in order to make transactions using the mag strip, and they're soon to release a new card reader designed for EMV chip cards, but are these necessary for Android phones? My understanding is that tap-and-pay using Google Wallet or Apple Pay (or the like) use the same technology and technique to authorize a transaction as EMV chips do. If that's the case, is it plausible that one could create a program that allows the phone to act as the point of sale terminal instead of as the client? If not, please help me understand how these technologies and/or communication methods differ. Thanks! Edit: I just found out that some EMV chips support NFC while others need direct contact, and that most American cards don't support NFC, including mine.

Is it possible to use a credit card with a foreign billing address to buy items from a local Play store? I have a Visa credit card from a German bank with a billing address in Germany registered in my Google Wallet. I have successfully used my Wallet to pay for online purchases from several online service providers in different foreign currencies so I am sure the credit card is correctly registered in my Wallet account. However, while physically located in the UK, I cannot complete any purchase from the UK Play store. At the point when I need to select my preferred payment method from my Wallet account, it shows my registered credit card greyed out with the text "Unsupported Payment method" next to it.

Where is the NFC element located in a Moto X?
I have a Moto X (2013 version) -- and use Google Wallet's tap-to-pay at merchants that support it. With certain readers, I end up moving the phone around over the reader until it works; knowing where the element is might make it easier to line it up correctly on the first try.

However, when I browsed the help file for Wallet, it lists a number of Moto-X compatible devices, but they also list the cellular service. * What is the technological, or vendor relationship that is needed in order to Google wallet work with Moto-X with T-Mobile? * Why is there a dependency outside of the actual phone? Is the cellular operator working with Google, sharing my PII, and monitoring my transactions? My goal is to understand the extent the cellular operator is monitoring my on-device actions, and purchases.
