I recently purchased a Huawei Y6P without realizing that it comes without Google apps. I am situated in Europe, not China, and I am used to using Google where I have all my data. I have followed several guides online and all have failed. They all center around installing the Google Play Services apk and then the Google Play store apk, but they all point to different dodgy/old apk binaries. This is what I have done: 1. I have enabled installing apps from untrusted sources. 2. I have installed Google Play Services 21.33.56 (the latest at this time) from apkmirror.com. I chose the version for Android 10, built for armeabi-v7a. 3. Once I install this, I get a new option under "Settings" -> "Accounts" for a "Google" account. Once I touch "Google", the activity seems to crash and return me back to the accounts menu. 4. I can install other google apps like play, chrome, maps, etc, but they all fail to load without error messages. I suspect this is because the Google Services app is not working and I have not been able to login to my account. Can someone please shed some light on this? Am I installing a build for an incorrect architecture? I'm beginning to regret buying a Huawei phone. I never would have guessed it's so hard to connect to my google calendar, keep, contacts, and other online data that I have on Google. Please help!

I am trying to fix my Huawei P30 (Android 10) which gets stuck in recovery mode. I tried to fix it by using eRecovery but I get the error "Get Package info failed". Around the internet, I was told to flash a new ROM to solve this problem, but there is no tutorial for flashing stock ROMs for Huawei P30 on the internet. My Huawei P30 does not have an SD Card slot meaning I can't use the method of adding update.app to /dload folder on an SD card. I also cannot use ADB fastboot because the Huawei on Android 10 does not have the image files required (boot.img, recovery.img, etc.) Instead, it has a myriad of images like Super.img, Ramdisk.img, erocovery.img, etc. I don't know which ones to select because I am unable to find a tutorial on the internet that tells me which files to select. I also cannot use the SP Flash Tool because Android 10 stock ROMs do not have scatter file XML or txt (it has update.app) I am unable to use SigmaKey as well because of the "SmartCard resource manager not running" error (I'm on Windows 10) I have exhausted many options with no luck, please help me.

My old phone was also a Huawei and the same problem happens. Both my parents have Huawei phones and neither of them has the option either. How can I get the Force RTL option out and apply it?

I just acquired the new Huawei Honor 8 from China (international version), but I have a few issues with the contacts. When I synchronize the contacts from my Microsoft account, I only retrieve 16 contacts in my list (whereas I have 300+ contacts). I checked the parameters, they are not hidden, it just managed to synchronize only 16 contacts. I decided to migrate my Microsoft account contacts to my Google account, so I can try to synchronize the Google contacts on my phone. Once I managed to do it on the Google website from my computer, I found a bad surprise in the contact app : there is no option to synchronize Google contacts. HiCloud, Outlook, Facebook messenger, Linkedin, Skype and WeChat are the only options here. Have I missed something ? Do I need an extra app to do this ? I'm wondering if this issue could be related to the Chinese ROM shipped on my phone, would you recommend to install a new ROM ? **Edit** : I have installed "Google sync contacts" by directly downloading the APK. Now i can see the Google account in the list of the synchronized accounts in the contact app. But, after having double checked that the synchronization is activated for this account and a reboot, still 0 contact from Google in the list.

I bought a Huawei P30 for development purposes. So, the first thing I did was enable development mode, enable ADB over USB, then type adb devices and nothing. When I enable ADB over USB, the setting is not saved. If I go back and then enter the developer menu, it's disabled again. I found this workaround: 1. Dial *#*#2846579#*#* 2. Select background 3. Select USB mode 4. Select "Google mode" 5. Open settings 6. Find development options 7. Enable ADB over USB. Now it works for a little while. Just unplug the cable for 1 second, and I need to repeat all the steps again. ADB disabled, USB mode reverted to "Huawei mode", and so on. I bought this device for development purposes, it should have a permanent way to enable ADB, as expected in each single Android device since version 1.0. How can devs debug Huawei devices if each time enabling ADB is such a hassle? I must be missing something, how to permanently enable ADB on (newest?) Huawei devices?

I had a Huawei Mate 9 before, and there was an icon at the bottom-center of the screen, so that when I tap it, it shows all apps on the phone. (It is running the latest Android it can, which I think is Android 9 and EMUI 9.1) However, I just got a Xiaomi Redmi 9 , and there seems to be no such icon (it is running Android 10 and MIMU 11). I can only slide the desktop left and right. Is the standard Android interface actually to show all apps by default on the desktop (and is slide-able, like on an iPhone), and so there is no need to have that bottom-center icon, and we actually can see all apps on the phone just by sliding the desktop left and right?

I have a Huawei P20 Lite with Android 9, EMUI 9.1.0 and WhatsApp 2.19.253, which is the latest version. As I wrote in the title, I can't receive WhatsApp messages, after many hours of researching I didn't find any solution for my problem. This is the first time I face whit this problem, because I managed and configured variues P20 Lite but none of them gave me that headache. The things which I did: * Turn on every single option for WhatsApp's notifications; * Uninstall the application and install it again; * Remove the app from the battery optimization process; * Clear the cache; * Enabled automatic start, secondary start and running in background, following this steps Settings -> Battery -> app launch -> 3 vertical dots -> manage manually; * No limit for internet traffic and allow background data, following Settings -> networks and wireless -> data usage -> select WhatsApp -> enabled the varius option. Any idea or solution for this problem? EDIT When I send a message from my phone to this P20 Lite, on the message appears only 1 tick, such as the P20 is disconnected from wifi/mobile data, but the wifi is enabled and connected, the same behaviour with mobile data.

The default "Screen Record" button from the dropdown menu on my Huawei P40 magically vanished a few days ago. I checked Reddit for a solution and found others having the same problem without a solution. I updated the phone to v12 Kernel software. The recorder icon is still missing and the old screenshot button has a screenshot/scrollshot dropdown. After an hour, I found that I could roll back to v10 Kernel, but I don't know yet if it will restore the icon. I first need to backup 116GB on my phone which is a huge inconvenience. I may back up my phone, do a rollback, and find the icon is still not restored. Please help.

Does https://play.google.com/store/apps/details/?id=com.huawei.KoBackup (and in particular version 7.1.1.310_OVE from April 2017) which I understand being the official Huawei backup utility, backup SMS which are stored on the SIM card? I always took for granted the answer is yes, especially because it saves the contacts which are stored on the SIM card, and it doesn't make much sense for a backup utility to miss such important data as SIM sms. However some research revealed that many other SMS backup apps miss these messages, and I couldn't find any explicit info about Huawei backup.
