As this post explains, Google has simply forbidden executables in writable app home directories from Android 10, making termux not working any more on Android 10.
However, I have multiple machines with much higher android versions and Termux runs in them without any problem.
On my only Android 10 phone (motorola moto e7), it does not (playstore says it is incompatible; f-droid version stops with cryptic error message).
What is going on? Can I somehow trick termux into the moto e7, maybe an older version?

given the apk for an app, how can I discover what devices are and are not supported?
As per the title: if I manage to download an APK, it'll have some file(s) that list what devices are compatible or not (things like android version, screen size and other restrictions) What is/what are these files?

I just bought a new tablet the Oneplus Pad 2 (Android 14) and when I try to install an apk of app that I use it gives me the error
App not installed as the app isn't compatible with your tablet
This same APK I'm able to install this on my Xiaomi pad 6 (running Android 14) which has a snapdragon 870 and this Oneplus pad has a Snapdragon 8 gen 3
I tried to install via adb, which gave me this error
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_NO_MATCHING_ABIS: INSTALL_FAILED_NO_MATCHING_ABIS: Failed to extract native libraries, res=-113]
Help me please, how do I fix this? I have read that this is because some libraries are missing, I don't know what that means.
Note: My Oneplus pad and Xiaomi pad are both rooted

I got in my hand an old Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro from 12 years ago and this is a quite nice, beautiful, and outdated Android. I do have however interest in seeing how modern mobile apps behave on this device.
The default Android browser simply doesn't open any page anymore, but I got it rooted and installed the first Opera version (6.x) I found on APK Mirror.
Does anyone know which exact version is the most modern browser that this Android 1.6 device can run?

logcat
or anything yet, just wondering why there would be an interoperability issue when both are running the same OS version and are otherwise somewhat comparable in terms of hardware specs?

The S Memo app is a simple memo app in which you can draw or write stuff, so I don't think it would need any Android 4.0 stuff.

What makes a 64-bit Android, except the kernel?

I have a phone (Samsung Galaxy A320F (AKA "A3 (2017)") with the stock ROM that contains a 64-bit armv8l kernel (Linux 3.18.14) and 32-bit userspace with 32-bit Android 8.0.0 platform. Some Android applications provide only 64-bit NDK-based libraries, which makes them incompatible with this setup.
I've tried transferring a few ELF64 binaries to the phone, like
gdb
, strace
, gphoto2
along with libc.so.6
, ld-linux-aarch64.so.1
and other parts of glibc. They run fine, so I'm confident in the kernel's ability to handle such binaries.
Now I'd like to try and make the Android platform 64-bit capable. In particular, I'm interested in making the 64-bit-only APK able to communicate with the display, touchscreen and a USB device attached to the phone. I have root access (via Magisk), so in principle, I can hack the system however I like.
My question is now: what components actually make the Android platform 32- or 64-bit? Is it just the VM, or maybe some additional libraries? Or does there have to also be a 64-bit part of the HAL? How many of these components could be taken from e.g. Lineage OS without actually installing the complete Lineage OS? Has anyone even tried to do a similar mod?

I have [Bluetooth MIDI Connect](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bluetooth.midi.connect) installed on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 tablet which is currently running on Android 10. My kids are using it to connect to the Bluetooth piano. My understanding is that it cannot be upgraded to a newer version of Android due to the decisions of Samsung and/or Google. I can't upgrade the tablet to a newer version of Android.
Recently, I created a second account on the same tablet for my second child. When I wanted to install the app on the second account on the same device, I realized that I can't because it's not available in the Google Play Store, meaning that when I search in the Play Store, this app does not come up in the list. On the second account, I went via Chrome directly to the link of the app, and the reason why I can't install it is:
>
>
> This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android.
I tried from my phone running on Android 13 and I can install it.
My understanding is that Google changed something and now it does not allow apps that are not explicitly compiled using some of their APIs to be available in the Play Store for that particular version of Android. But I could be wrong.
Just to show that I've done my research, I see the following options:
1) Try to find the APK of the older version and install it manually on the tablet as a third-party app. The problem here is that I do not know which site to trust.
2) Somehow take the app files from the first account on the tablet and install them on the second account. From what I've seen for other apps that were on the first account, when I installed them on the second account on the same device, I went to the Play Store and I had a feeling that the app was not even been downloaded. It might be that the app as in the compiled code is the same for the two accounts, just maybe with separate data elements. I could be wrong on this one, it is just a hunch.
3) Somehow download the APK that is currently available for Android 13 in the Play Store and hope it will work on Android 10. I see the risk here that it may not work.
I do not want to root the tablet. I can't seem to find this app on APK Mirror, and I tried it with several other apps, but I can't connect my piano to it.
How can I install this application on my Android 10, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 tablet? How can I install this app that has older and newer versions?

I have a degoogled lineageos phone. I'd like to be able to play "A dance of fire and ice" and "cytus" on this device.
If I have previously purchased these apps, I think I should be able to install them through the aurora store (Or worst case, extract an apk from another device and install it). The only problem is that I don't actually own any android devices with gapps to purchase these apps on, and the play store web interface doesn't let me purchase an app if I am not logged in on any eligible devices.
Therefore I decided to set up a waydroid install with gapps, to try and get this stuff to work. However, after having done this, and navigating to the store page I see: "This app won't work for your device", and when I go to the web interface, I see the following:
Of course android is being its usual opaque self, and not actually telling me why it "won't work on my device".
I think I might be able to fix this by setting up waydroid in such a way that the playstore thinks that my device is in fact compatible with this app, just that I have no idea what it wants me to do for it to accept this app. Is the screen resolution wrong? Wrong android version? Something else entirely?
I already purchased a play store gift card which I can't return anymore. Therefore there is no use in giving up because something might not work. I was willing to take the gamble when I bought that card in the first place anyways

I have a Huawei nova Y90 (CTR-LX2). I've been wanting to flash it with either a custom or stock ROM for experimental purposes, but I can't find a ROM file/firmware for the model CTR-LX2 specifically. I could mostly find for model CTR-LX1.
So far, I've only downloaded CTR-LX1, which has the
UPDATE.APP
file in it which, from searching on Google, is the file I need to flash. And I stumbled across a CTR-LX2 which was being sold on the net. When I took a look at it, it contained a Super.img
. I wasn't sure how to flash that one as there wasn't any info on Super.img
.
I was wondering if it's safe to flash the device with the CTR-LX1 ROM file or if my device will get bricked?

I had to wipe my phone clean and when I went to reinstall the Google Authenticator, it did not appear to me in the Android Market since they upgraded the app and it now requires a phone with Android 2.0 or higher.

I would like to download and install this app on my *Samsung Continuum SCH-I400* running Android **2.2.2** but instead of a

button, the Market displays an error message that reads:

I checked the minimum requirement for this app and it says Android **2.2**. Why would Android Market flag it as incompatible with my phone?
Is there a way to get from the Android Market more details about this incompatibility?
What do I need to add or change in my *Samsung Continuum SCH-I400* to make it compatible?
