So my Galaxy A51 finally gave up the ghost by refusing to turn on its screen anymore. I still got the (blind) use of the touch screen, as well as input via USB Keyboard/Mouse. Using that, I could, by blindly unlocking and authorizing USB Debugging, access the screen content via **scrcpy** and copy over all data files that are accessible via USB connection. HDMI over USB-C is not supported though.
As a result, I already got at my personal data and chat apps. All chats, photos and contacts are safe. I can input any settings, commands and actions that are possible to input via the scrcpy adb connection.
The last remaining problem is this: The scrcpy connection goes black as soon as what I assume are DRM/extra security protected apps are opened. This includes important 2FA Apps like Google Authenticator as well as all proprietary banking 2FA apps.
I'd really like to get into them to backup their codes and re-setup them on my new phone. Any path to doing that?

If I click the cloud button at the upper right, it says: "Your codes will be backed up next time you're online and refresh"
I am already online and I've tried restarting my device but I keep getting these messages. How do I sync Google Authenticator to the cloud when I see this message?
Note: *The main reason I'm asking is to post my solution. I couldn't find any other posts asking this.*

I have 10 entries in Google Authenticator for example "Amazon Web Services". I only see "Amazon Web Services" 10 times, no way to know which one is correct. I can change _account name_, but since account name is not even visible with this long application name there is no help. Account name is the latter part of full entry line.
Only thing that I found helpfull is to put the phone Font size to smallest possible, however drawback is that its a global setting and has its obvious side effects to overall usability.
I need to count entry index and remember it by hand to be able to use correct one which is obviously not very convienent.
So two important usability features missing:
- Ability to change application name also ( not just account name )
- Abitily to wrap long lines into two rows (should be kind a basic thing in app!)
I am using very new Android 13 phone now, after transferring data to new phone authenticator even re-sorted my entries, so back to guessing game for correct entry by index

After installing the Microsoft Authenticator in a new device, I logged on to my MS account and all my 2FA app codes are there, as expected. Perfect.
After installing Google Authenticator , no codes appear: The ***Transfer Accounts > Import accounts*** option simply shows the attached dialog asking me to *go to my previous device* to continue.
Is this some kind of sick joke from Google? What happens if my "old device" was stolen, lost, dropped from a bridge, bursted into flames or otherwise destroyed? I simply loose access to ALL my 2FA accounts.
**Any ideas what's the procedure in this case?** This is all theoretical, I've never lost a phone, but it could happen anyway and I prefer to anticipate to this. Of course now my main 2FA codes app is Microsoft Authenticator, but the Google app should have considered the option of users losing phones somehow, otherwise the Device Locator app from Google would be pointless.

Can you use a screenshot of the "export accounts" QR Code of Google Authenticator as a backup?
In the Authenticator app you can hit transfer accounts -> Export Accounts. It will present with you a QR Code. What exactly is this QR Code? Can it be used to backup Google Authenticator? I am looking to hard reset my phone and I am looking for a way to backup and restore Authenticator.

I had no problem using Google Authenticator for the first month. Two weeks ago, my phone's operating system upgraded and now Authenticator will not work.
I have uninstalled it, re-downloaded it, and reinstalled. No matter what function I choose (sync time, setup) I get an error message that Authenticator has stopped working. Also, since I need the two-factoring for our website, the codes stopped working on that. I keep reporting the issue to Google but of course, have had no response.
Any suggestions?

I have the below QR code generated from my application so users can use their phones for a time-based OTP. For Google Authenticator in iOS, scanning the QR code correctly leads to an eight-character time-based OTP generating every 30 seconds. However, **on the exact same Google Authenticator in Android, it incorrectly generates a six-character string instead.**
I have provided the sample string and QR code below (it's from a test system) - does anyone know why the implementation of the functionality differs between the exact same app on Android and iOS, or alternatively where I can find developer documentation for either the
otpauth
protocol or Google Authenticator itself (both seem thin on the ground and I've had to take what I can from tutorials)?
Sample string: otpauth://totp/test@email.com?secret=GQ2DOMBXGRCDCMRSIVBEEOJSGMZEEQ2F&issuer=TestApplication&algorithm=SHA256&digits=8&period=30

Is there anyway to get my google authenticator from 1 phone to the other?

https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/29105/can-i-wipe-my-phone-even-if-i-use-it-for-2-step-verification Discusses editing 2-factor settings for Google, but I don't want to change the settings for all my different accounts on different sites.
[How To Geek](http://www.howtogeek.com/130755/how-to-move-your-google-authenticator-credentials-to-a-new-android-phone-or-tablet/) has a post on using Titanium backup, but is there a simpler way?

I recently took my phone to a mobile repair service (unofficial, 3rd party). The phone had fallen into water and had severe water damage - it was non-functional, I was not able to turn it back on and so far the service has not been able to get it to turn on.
I have a mild suspicion they might be doing something shady. **So I started thinking - what sensitive data could they possibly be able to access?**
The phone model is OnePlus. It's locked with fingerprint, and pattern, which I did NOT give to them. Also, the phone did NOT have full disk encryption, unless there's some kind of default one.
*Edit: Phone model comes with Android 6 out of the box, but 90% sure it was upgraded to Android 9.
Also, SIM card was removed, I did NOT give it to them.*
I'm mostly concerned about:
- 2FA - AFAIK these are encrypted and impossible to access without unlocking the phone.
- Google Account passwords (the ones that are auto-saved by Chrome) - I'd assume these are also encrypted, hopefully, someone can confirm that.
- Photos - since disk encryption was NOT enabled, I'd assume these are freely accessible if you take out the data drive and put it into some special device that's able to read the data?
- SMS ???
- app data - notes (Evernote), FB messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram ???
- cache/temp data ???
- anything else ???
Any info/input would be greatly appreciated!

I broke my cellphone which had the Google Authenticator app and several other accounts attached to it for two factor authentication like Dropbox, Evernote, AWS, etc. Now I got a new phone and installed the Google Authenticator app on it as per the instructions given here - https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185834?hl=en#phone
But now in this app I don't see codes for other accounts (Dropbox, Evernote, etc.). Is there a way to get all of them migrated to this new app or I need to recreate them?
Also, if I need to recreate them, how do I do it, because Evernote won't even let me sign in from any device w/o two factor authentication code.
I can use backup codes for some accounts, but I don't have backup codes for all of them?
Please provide some suggestions. Thank you.
