Since starting to use USB-C headphones (my new phone has no audio jack), I have noticed this (to my ears) very annoying issue: during playback of any audio, the sound output will be cut during moments of (very) low volume in the audio stream. For example: listening to an audiobook, after every sentence, when the narrator pauses, you will hear a noticeable cut of all sound output, where normally there's always a little white noise in the background. I guess it's an optimization of not sending any audio signal when there is nothing to be heard, but to me, these constant breaks in the background white noise are very annoying. As a reference: this did not happen when using the audio jack on my old phone. The background white noise was just always present during playback. I tried to research this issue, but it seems to be almost impossible to set the right search terms or no one else is complaining about this, although I find the latter hard to believe since my partner experiences the same. Also, in the Android settings, I cannot find anything related to this. Still, I hope there is a way to resolve this. Either by applying a certain (advanced) setting or maybe by using some other workaround trick. Any insight and/or help in this matter is much appreciated, thanks! P.S. I assume this is standard Android behavior for USB-C headphones and not headphone-specific. Please enlighten me if I'm wrong.

How do I fix Bluetooth audio not working for only some apps?

I have a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones, and they work perfectly with my phone (Moto G30) for Spotify and YouTube. However, audio does not play through them for some other apps (BaconReader and Polytopia, to name two). When I have one of these apps open and I turn the volume up, the audio pop-up shows the master value turning up, but the app in question's audio slider is still stuck at the bottom. If I manually try to slide it up, it just jumps back to the bottom. This doesn't happen with my wired earphones, and I do not have another Bluetooth headset to test on. I have "forgotten" the headphones and repaired them to no avail. Restarting my phone doesn't help. Killing the apps and starting them again doesn't help. Anything else I can try?

My problematic Allview P6 Qmax phone refuses to turn its screen on. Its touch screen has proven to still work, but it just simply refuses to open the screen. I bought a new phone, but my problem consists of the fact that my Panasonic RPBTD5K wireless headphones are still paired up through Bluetooth to the phone that won't show its screen anymore. I don't remember how to navigate to the Bluetooth screen in the settings with a black screen. I would like to know if it's possible to use... Maybe a third-party program, that's capable of unpairing my problematic phone from my headphones. Or if my headphones have a command to unpair from what they're paired with.

**(Reposting this question because my previous one was misunderstood . I am specifically asking about reducing background noise picked up by the microphone, not noise cancellation for listening.)** I have a pair of Xiaomi earbuds, but their microphone picks up a lot of background noise during calls and recordings. It seems to amplify noise rather than suppress it. Is there a way—preferably an app—to apply system-wide noise suppression for the microphone on Android? My goal is to reduce the background noise that the other person hears during a call or that gets recorded in a voice memo. I know some desktop apps exist for this purpose, but I haven’t been able to find a good Android alternative. Any suggestions? ### Clarification: - I am **not** looking for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that blocks out noise for the listener. - I **am** looking for software-based noise suppression that improves what the microphone picks up. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

However, today it started having connection problems to my Motorola Moto Z: it connects and remains connected indefinitely, as long as I don't start playing any sound. If I have sound from Google Music or Facebook, the headset plays 3 seconds, disconnects, and reconnects. I have no idea how to solve this. Here's what I tried: 1. Restarting the mobile phone 2. Restarting the headset 3. Reset the headset 4. Unpairing and pairing back I am running Android 7.1.1. I have no idea how to fix this, please help.

Disable Bluetooth Headset Buttons

I have done some research, and it looks like the advice from https://android.stackexchange.com/q/256280/44325 was to use an app called Lesser Audio Switch. But looking for this app today, I find it is not compatible with Android 14 (at least the Play Store says it isn't, please correct me if I'm wrong). I was wondering if there is an alternative app or technique that could be used to achieve this effect. I have a Google Pixel 8 if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

Could you please help me?

The problem is that when the dongle is plugged in, the phone expects the audio recording to come from the headset's inline microphone, while disabling the built-in microphone. Is there a way to set the phone to use the internal mic while using external headphones through the dongle? I tried a couple of dongles and all have the same issue. Update: Phone is Samsung Galaxy S20, Android version 11, not rooted.

How to adjust ring volume on built-in speaker separately from ring volume on headphones?

Currently, if I receive a call, it rings in both my (wired) headphones *and* out of my built-in speaker. I don't want rings to ever come out of my built-in speaker. I only want to hear rings in my headphones. I don't want other people to have to hear my ringer, but I want to hear it in my headphones! It seems all other audio is handled correctly. For example, if I am listening to a podcast using my headphones, no audio comes out of my built-in speaker (which is great!) Using the volume buttons only adjusts the headphones volume. If I unplug my headphones, it switches over to using the built-in speaker automatically. Moreover, changing the volume while the headphones are unplugged only adjusts the built-in speaker volume; it doesn't forget my headphones volume. This is exactly how I want my call ringer to work. Basically, I want to set my built-in speaker ring volume to be 0, and my headphones ring volume to be 100. How can I do this? I have a Moto G Power 2022 with Android 11. Edit: I'm surprised that even with a bounty, no one has any advice. Is what I want unclear? (I want the ringer to play in my headphones but **not** from my built-in speaker.) Is it really that unusual of a desire that it is impossible to accomplish? Is my problem specific to my particular phone and not Android 11? Even if you have a partial solution, please let me know what you know. I'd be happy with a solution that involves an app, as long as it fixes things.

I have just acquired a **Lenovo M9 tablet** running **Android 12**. It has a **3.5 mm** port for audio output. All my **wired headphones** of various brands that have worked on all my previous Android devices, do not work with this tablet. I can get Audio out but I **cannot use the volume+/-, PLAY/PAUSE hard buttons** on my headphones. They don't work at all. Bluetooth headphones work OK. My main reason for using wired headphones is so I can doze off and my ears don't have something sealing them, and I have a hand disability so find it hard enough to find my ear let alone trying to tap a sequence out. I can operate a controller though. Lenovo couldn't help me but somewhere in the Android O/S **there must be an option to enable external device to take over controls using wired 'phones?** Or, does it require the port to be of a particular type? My workaround has been to use the Accessibility Shortcut to have a menu at side of screen to tap on, then I can use volume up/down but I still have to go to the notification shade to play/pause media. And that is still delayed with my awful dexterity. I also searched for both the Headset Droid and Headset Controller Button apps which were both recommended on this forum 3 yrs ago but neither of those apps appear in Google's Play Store. I do feel this could be remedied with correct drivers, but not a clue how to do that. I would be most grateful if someone could give me a fix to enable a hard controller. Or even a way to get play/pause/volume in an accessible but discrete floating button on-screen would help. I've tried loads of apps that just weren't that easy to use. Sorry, I can't remember which I used, they were all called volume control with no play or pause . Thanks :)

Setup: - OnePlus 5t, Android 9.0, not rooted - Bluetooth 5.0 headset with one media button A single tab on the media button starts the Google Voice Control / Assistant, there is no way to change a tab on the button to play/pause for example - on the headset's side. The only software solution to disable Google Voice popping up always when I press the button was to disable the Google-App completely. But this stops the media-button from working completely. After hours of trying, searching nothing worked for me. My goal is to archive that a tab leads to play/pause music.

Currently, when I connect my bluetooth headpones to my phone, the volume is extremely low, even when the volume is set to the maximum level. For reference, I am using the following: - Bose QC 35 II headphones - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra The sound issues seems to be present in audio apps (i.e., Spotify, Audible, etc.). Audio during phone calls does not seem to be affected. Initially, I thought that it was something wrong with the headphones. However, when I connect another set of bluetooth headphones (a pair of Westone earbuds with the bluetooth cable), the same issue is present. I have also connected the Bose headphones to my wife's phone (same model) and the issue is not present. I have also connected the Bose headphones to two different laptops and, again, the issue is not present. This leads me to believe the issue is with my phone. The question is whether or not there is some setting that has been altered to cause this issue. I am aware of the "Disable absolute volume" setting that is mentioned in various blog posts. This setting is currently enabled but seems to have no affect on this issue. I figured I would ask here before performing a system reset to see if that helps in any way (which is kind of a pain).
