Is there any way (application or other) to have PC receive notifications about text messages on an Android phone (ability to reply is also welcome)? I don't want to have my messages uploaded to the cloud due to the privacy concerns, so it is preferable to have messages sharing only when using the same WiFi network. I tried using AirDroid and PulseSMS - however, both are cloud-based as far as I can tell. I also tried Samsung Flow, but did not like it very much (it uses Bluetooth instead of WiFi for communication). If it's relevant, I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 as a phone and use Windows 10 on my desktop. Cortana is unavailable in my language.

I need to give remote assistance to another person by accessing her android mobile. Is there some app like TeamViewr or Microsoft Teams for Windows that allow the person in need of assistance to give control of their mobile to another person remotely? Are they safe? I mean I should be the only person who, upon request, should be able to do that. Question was kind of already posted here https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/84729/fully-control-android-phone-from-another-android-phone-over-the-internet but it's pretty old.

Before I write my own app, I want to know if there is an app to fully control one Android phone from another Android phone (over the Internet)? I need this so that I can remotely start apps, install apps and control apps for a remote Android phone (un/rooted) without requesting permissions. An app to basically do remote screen sharing with full privileges given. I have used TeamViewer and AirDroid, but I don't like these as the remote device needs to allow permissions. The usecase is simple: I am giving my mother (not so tech savy), who lives in another country, an Android phone (assuming it will have Internet connectivity over Wi-Fi). I want to be able to fully control her phone from my Android phone (from another country).

I have an Oppo F3. My sensor was bugged, and any calls made via Messenger, Viber, or WhatsApp would mean my mobile's device turning black. I need to turn my mobile device off through my PC and currently, I can't access my mobile phone. The power button and my volume button work, and even when it was working, pressing my "Power Off" button would just display a "Swipe to power off" function. Long pressing the power button would not result in anything specific, as it does in so many other devices. Virtually, there was no way I could restart my phone because as it seems, there just isn't a restart function in my phone. I've tried many stuffs, but will I be able to power off my device? If I could restart my device, or even just turn it off, the problem wouldn't persist.

The data is received correctly on an app running on B, however the problem is that the wifi created by A lacks internet and I need to maintain internet connection on device B. enter image description here From the information I have been able to find, Speedify could accomplish this task, however I need a free alternative. The objective is that B can have internet while using the data reception application that needs to be connected to A's Wi-Fi, perhaps there is some way to force only the application to connect to A's Wi-Fi ( as a possible alternative to the simultaneous use of networks). Device B would have the possibility of being rooted if this were necessary. I am using TeamViewer for Android to remotely control my computer and it works great, but I recently noticed it uses up a LOT of bandwidth, even in Optimize Speed mode. I have a limited 3G plan and I would like to reduce TeamViewer's bandwidth consumption as much as possible, at the expense of image quality. For example, I would have no problem with going to grayscale, or 256-color mode, but this option is not available on the android client, as far as I can tell. Is there any way to optimize the bandwidth consumption of TeamViewer for Android, beyond choosing the Optimize Speed quality setting? If not, is there any other remote desktop client for android that you can recommend which does a better job that TeamViewer in this category? Thanks

I am running XRDP on an Nvidia Jetson TX2 running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS for an underwater microscope. I can remote in via an ethernet cable, or WiFi configured as a hotspot. Both of those connection paths work generally, and I can successfully open a remote desktop connection to that computer from other computers (Windows 10 and 11), iPhones, and iPads. However, so far no Android device can connect successfully. We've tried multiple phones, remote desktop clients, and others with no luck. So why are we bothering trying to use an Android? We have an Android device (1+ Nord N200) for fieldwork with a large screen and an underwater housing that will allow divers to operate the microscope through the remote desktop underwater. What works on every other device: - Microsoft Remote Desktop, either via ethernet or over the hotspot. Note that both can be used simultaneously for these other devices (i.e. one device over ethernet, one over WiFi). - No port needs to be specified, though xrdp appears to be listening on port 3389 - IP address assignment for the WiFi left at default of Automatic - xrdp login screen loads almost instantly On Android: - If no port is specified for the IP address, Microsoft Remote Desktop gets stuck on "Configuring Remote PC" - If a port is specified: Immediate failure due to protocol error (0x1104, 0x500d,etc.), stuck in the "Configuring" loop, or claims it cannot find the IP address (error 0x104), depending on which port is specified. - Able to ping the IP address, even if 0x104 code was returned. - Other remote desktop apps (VNCViewer, Remote Ripple) also fail to establish a connection, returning similar errors/entering similar waiting loops. - This is true for automatic or static IP assignment - This is true for multiple different Android devices My thoughts are that it's probably something simple and fundamental that I'm missing, perhaps some basic port difference between Androids and other systems, but none of the posts I've scoured through so far have helped figure it out. I need to double check the model information of some of the other devices we have tried, but they do cover a range of Android/iPhone editions. Any ideas of things to try/extra information that could be helpful would be very appreciated. Screenshot from RD client: enter image description here

I have Windows 10 computer C1 (home computer) and I have Windows Server computer C2 (work computer) and I am running "Windows Remote Desktop Connection" from C1 to access C2. I have quite sophisticated applications on C2 (e.g. my office programs like https://www.embarcadero.com/products/delphi for developing and debugging Android applications). I have physical access to computer C1 (home computer) and I have connected Android tablet via USB cable to C1 and I can see in C1 Windows Explorer that tablet is available for file transfers, debugging etc. My question is - how can I share this USB connection so, that it can be accessed from Remote Desktop Connection, i.e. from C2 (office computer) as well? Currently C2 (as accessed from RDC session from C2) does not show table in "This PC" Windows Explorer and there is no notification about connected tablet device in the notification area either. I have tried https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-do-i-enable-a-usb-device-in-remote-desktop/113af42e-5b99-4f6b-bc6f-f8bc1007e34f There are 2 answers: 1) about "Allow Remote access to your Computer" and 2) about group policy editing. I followed both advices but my Android tablet is still not visible in RDC C2. Google search suggested https://www.net-usb.com/android-remote-access/ but it is Remote Desktop access to/from Android device and not about RDC between two windows computers. This search https://android.stackexchange.com/search?q=%22remote+desktop+connection%22 gave non-relevant results, so, my question will not be duplicate certainly.

I'd like to "Remote Control" my Android 2.3.x (Oxygen 2.3.2 ROM) from my PC. I know that there are VNC servers available *(previously available via https://market.android.com/details?id=org.onaips.vnc)* and also apps like Remote Web Desktop *(previously available via https://market.android.com/details?id=net.xdevelop.rm)* . This works fine, but only if the mobile phone and the "controlling PC" are in the same subnet, or if traffic from PC -> mobile phone is routable. At work, this isn't the case for me… :/ **The WiFi devices are in a separate subnet, and the *office network devices cannot reach the WiFi devices*.** That's done on purpose and is to be accepted as an unchangeable fact (at least for the time being). If the mobile phone were a normal PC/Mac/Linux system, I'd install TeamViewer on it and be all set. But there's no *TeamViewer server for Android*, is there? Well, what are your suggestions? How can one remote control the Android smartphone from a Linux (or any…) system, if the PC doesn't "see" the mobile phone? I do have USB and Bluetooth available, if this helps. Cheers.

I want to run an SSH server on my Android phone so that my clients (varying between 10 to 20) can easily and securely share data with me when I'm on the go, without using any third-party hosting services like email, file sharing, etc. Every user should have their own directory (enforced using SFTP's chroot) and he/she should be able to log in using his/her own password (not the key file) I provide them, optionally sharing credentials with other users if one needs to. I didn't find any such flexible solution, especially FOSS. So I built sshd program from openssh source code , using gcc-linux-aarch64 cross compiler on Ubuntu. However, when I execute it on my phone, it throws an error: ~# sshd -d Privilege Separation user sshd does not exist How can I add sshd and other users on Android? My phone is rooted. **PS:** I'm jotting down an answer to my own question of what limitations I faced and how I have been achieving this for the past few years. Any other method - particularly a non-root solution through GUI for ease of a common user - would be appreciated.

The central SSH server is running on AWS and has an Elastic IP. Phone A can connect to AWS Server directly at port 22, so can phone B. AWS Server configuration:
GatewayPorts yes
TCP forward yes
Password Authentication Yes
Further, I have forwarded port 9099 on the AWS SSH server to local port 8022 on phone B:
~$ ssh -NR 9099:localhost:8022 user@Remoteip
By running netstat -tpln on the AWS SSH server, I can see that 9099 is in listening mode. But when I ssh from phone A into the AWS server at port 9099, it says timed out.

My phone is a moto e20 with no removable battery and no removable case. I need to use my phone once before sending it to repair and since Google's "Find my device" tool lets you play sounds, lock your screen and erase all data, it might be possible to send the power button signal from external sources. **Edit:** Fingerprint sensor won't work either since the device doesn't have any finger registered.

Hi I have a computer X connected to Android phone A at my home via USB, I would like to give a remote computer Y outside my home network ability to view the phone and do remote debugging(via adb). I thought Vysor Enterprise was able to do this. But Although I can view and control A on Y using the Vysor App I am unable to see anything on adb devices on Y. Ultimately I want to install apps from Y onto it in Android Studio. Both the computers are Macbooks with Monterey and the Android phone has Android 11 or later. I have raised this question on github https://github.com/koush/vysor.io/issues/1079 but I think the Vysor's author's response was not clear. Has someone faced and solved this issue? Any alternatives to Vysor?
