I have an Oppo F3. My sensor was bugged, and any calls made via Messenger, Viber, or WhatsApp would mean my mobile's device turning black. I need to turn my mobile device off through my PC and currently, I can't access my mobile phone.
The power button and my volume button work, and even when it was working, pressing my "Power Off" button would just display a "Swipe to power off" function. Long pressing the power button would not result in anything specific, as it does in so many other devices. Virtually, there was no way I could restart my phone because as it seems, there just isn't a restart function in my phone.
I've tried many stuffs, but will I be able to power off my device?
If I could restart my device, or even just turn it off, the problem wouldn't persist.

How to avoid a forced shutdown on an Android 13 device for vehicles?

I've bought a Chinese device for my car/motorcycle, which runs Android 13. I don't want to root it to keep the warranty valid, but the device is easy enough to customize: for example, I've been able to change the launcher (I'll use none of the pre-defined apps for music and navigation, and I don't have an iPhone, so the non-customizable home screen UI had no use for me).
The device is meant to be "permanently installed" on the vehicle, not to be detachable: it has a power cable coming out from the back that you have to put in the vehicle and connect with screws, but it also has a USB C port.
Here's the problem: it works fine when powered by the USB C port, but during the startup, a pop-up appears telling you that it will shut down in 5 seconds unless you press "Cancel" (but there are no buttons on the device apart one that only switches it off) and then it shuts down, just to boots again, and then repeat this cycle.
I've been somewhat able to "bypass" that popup using a "scientific method" which is by frantically tapping everywhere on the screen until something happens (like an app starts); if it happens, then the pop-up goes and I can keep the device on as long as I want. I've not been able to find any procedure that grants me to get to this point: I just have to try and try until I succeed.
I'd like better to power it using the USB port on my vehicles, so I'd need a way to know what happens at startup in order to know and disable the app (if any) that opens the pop-up; or maybe I could launch at startup some process (but very quickly) that makes it happy.
I've tried the UAC program, and there's just a handful of proprietary apps in the phone (other than the launcher): they're not even hidden so I can launch them from the apps tray but they are in Chinese and apparently, they do some RAM test or ... nothing visible.
- Is there a way to show on screen the processes that are running, so I can see what's alive when it wants to shut down?
- Is there a way to add an app that will start at startup before anything else?
- Does someone have other ideas about how to detect/block/disable the process that wants to shut down the phone if not powered by the power cable?

This is question is basically an acknowledgement that I'm very f-ing lazy.
First, I'm on a Pixel 6 Pro running stock A13, rooted and filled with Magisk modules.
I needed to find a way to guarantee I'll wake up, so I tried [Alarmy](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=droom.sleepIfUCan) (I just noticed the apk id is droom.**sleepIfUCan**, haha), which has a really cool feature of posing a few physical and/or mental challenges to stop the alarm from ringing.
But well, the very first day I tried it (with no real need to wake up at the time I set), I didn't feel like waking up, as I had nothing scheduled, so I simply turned my phone off (I'm not sure, but I think Alarmy blocked my screen and stopped me from pulling the dropdown menu or switching to other apps, so I used the Power+Vol Up menu) and found an easy way to beat the purpose.
I'm wondering if I can somehow I can circumvent this:
- Perhaps Tasker could block and unblock Shutdown using Alarmy's actions as triggers;
- Another approach would be to somehow block it via terminal/Termux. The only times I ever need to turn my phone off is during chess tournaments, so I wouldn't mind having to enable Shutdown again and disable it afterwards;
- Maybe this can be done with a Magisk module;
- Or, my last guess, maybe I'll need a custom ROM for that.
And of course, perhaps this is not possible at all. Is it?

Samsung Galaxy J1 shuts down after "Optimizing Android" on startup
I have an old Samsung Galaxy J1 20W that when it restarts, it goes to the 'Optimizing Android', and whenever it gets to '13 out of 13', it just shuts down and won't turn on again unless I take out the battery and put it back in. Is there any hope for it? Or is it done for good?

I have android 6.0.1 (rooted), and I'm looking for to power off phone, when it's not charging. I'm looking for programming solution. I have power on phone when I start charging phone. To do it I changed init.rc file. Now I looking for which file I can change, to achive power off phone after disconneted charger.
I have this code in init.rc:
on charger
setprop ro.bootmode "normal"
setprop sys.powerctl "reboot"
To test, I added this to function "on charge"r too:
sleep 300
/system/bin/busybox poweroff -f
and finally I have:
on charger
setprop ro.bootmode "normal"
setprop sys.powerctl "reboot"
sleep 300
/system/bin/busybox poweroff -f
but it didn't work.
I tested:
/system/bin/setprop sys.powerctl shutdown
/system/bin/svc power shutdown
/system/bin/busybox poweroff -f
Phone never shutdown after connect charger (this was only test, I need shutdown after disconnect charger, not after connect, but why this commands didn't work?).

My Phone which runs on Android 11 has been crashing frequently. This happens randomly - while attending a call or playing a video.
I have tried to report it to my manufacturer multiple times to no avail.
So, I decided to take and analyse the Android bug report in order to understand what is causing the issue. The bug report generates a zip file - which consists of a txt file containing logs.
Is there any generic message which is logged by Android before initiating a shutdown? Or is there any other way - any bug report analysis tool in which I can isolate the events around the crash?

**Question:- how to stop Mobile shutting down on apps using as Battery dropping from 70% to 0% in Android 6.0.1.**
I have formatted my External micro sd card as internal and automatically while installing apps it moves to external sd card even Facebook and many common apps installed on micro sd card. but still many are on internal memory.
i googled and founded that its may be battery calibration problem i tried to fully discharge battery to 0% by restating then again recharged it to 100% and i tried accu-battery app and many other apps for battery calibration but problem persisted of shutting down of phone at 70%- to 75% while using if its kept on standby ie. not used it sometimes dont shut down till 35%
From last 2-3 days my android 6.0.1 OS mobile phone is restating even charging to 100% as its heavily used or many apps opened it just show low battery sound in main OS window to 0% and immediately shuts down. After shutting down if i charge it on black screen it shows 50%-75% battery remaining on keeping the charger on mobile when i keep the charger connected it then never gets shut down... but the mobile back panel gets heated up drastically and on seeing in accubattery app the temperature of internal sensor shows battery temp in red sign from 47 degree to 50 degree many times.
I have tried in safe mode its still shutting down ...i tried in maintenance or in boot menu mode its not shut down .... now i am confused
1. is due to os android 6.0.1 crashing :- (formatted -2-3 times still occurs)
2. is it due to apps moved or installed in external micro sd card crashing ( as in safe mode it works fine dont shutdown in 36% of but apps moved installed in external card not showing in safe mode)
3. is it due to overheating of chips or circuits
4. or its due to some particular app crashing ( i tried
is it due to some internal or external memory card sectors became bad due to formatting 3-5 times in this week )
5. is battery life is finished is battery failing ( but its working fine in safe mode on common system apps)
solution i think:
1. I think to format external sd card to zero level or low level formatting so that it become fresh and clear which can be done through mini partition tool
2. I think to format internal memory sd card through adb shell fstim or dd if
dd if=/dev/zero of=/sdcard/filler but it doesn't make much sense on flash storage. Running fstrim to clear unused space so that it gets refreshed and any junk saved can be freshen up
Any suggestions opinion are welcomed kindly give your technical expert advice for solving the issues....
Thank you in advance for reading answering and giving your precious time and precious technical advice or opinion

My phone is Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 8, and any phone specific answers are welcome but I am looking for a general solution
A few days ago my phone screen went crazy and started detecting touch events all over the place when it was just left alone on a table. The home button seemed to be unaffected and brought the phone to the home screen, but it didn't stay there long enough for me to be able to do anything. Long pressing the power button brought up the (power off, restart, emergency mode) interface, but it turns out touching anywhere on the screen other than the three specific buttons causes the buttons to disappear, and since touch events were getting auto generated, the shutdown option kept disappearing. Eventually I managed to stay on the shutdown interface long enough to press the shutdown button.
Is there any way to forcefully cause a hard shutdown on a phone that does not have a removable battery? I am looking for a general solution that works on all phones, if such a thing is possible. I would also like to know if this is possible from adb on an unrooted phone.

I have observed this behavior on 5 different brands (lg, samsung, lenovo, xiaomi, oneplus), across different android os versions, across different camera apps, even on devices with the battery replaced with a new part.
The system takes a picture then shuts down. The battery drains almost visibly upon restart, going from 20 to 15 in a minute or two.
I've seen it on official roms, flashed roms, rooted phones etc. Hopefully somebody who's an expert in these things can hit this nail on the head.

Most times it turned off just after starting up, a few times it worked longer and everything looks fine. when it happend, a "phone is shuting down"(maybe not exactly these words because my phone is not in english) dialog pop up and then shut down in a few seconds.
I tried restoring it to factory image, and tried replace a new battery, and had not fix this.
I got the log using "adb logcat", here is it : full log file
Now I think its because of a hardware part, but seems not battery. I want to find out which hardware part is it from the log file, but I don't know much about the log messages, can anyone help to find some clues about what cause the auto-shutdown? Thank you very much!

How can I make the phone impossible to turn off. I use an alarm clock which make a task I must complete before the ringing alarm turns off.
My problem is that I can simply turn off the phone and then I don't need to complete any task for the alarm to go away. So my question is that can I in some way make the phone impossible to turn off when the alarm is ringing? So then I would be forced to make the tasks(math problems, barcode scanner...) before I can turn off the phone.
Any idea is highly appreciated and If you know some app that will do this or if I can do this by rooting my phone so let me know. No solution is to hard for me, I will try anything suggested.

The model is ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL), and I didn't root, flash recovery, or turn on debugging mode on it. The Android version is 8.0.
I've talked to customer service of phone manufacturer and was told that there's no more spare screen.
I tried to shut it down, but long pressing power button can only make it reboot. Is there any way that can force shutdown the phone?
