I am using TeamViewer for Android to remotely control my computer and it works great, but I recently noticed it uses up a LOT of bandwidth, even in Optimize Speed mode. I have a limited 3G plan and I would like to reduce TeamViewer's bandwidth consumption as much as possible, at the expense of image quality. For example, I would have no problem with going to grayscale, or 256-color mode, but this option is not available on the android client, as far as I can tell.
Is there any way to optimize the bandwidth consumption of TeamViewer for Android, beyond choosing the Optimize Speed quality setting? If not, is there any other remote desktop client for android that you can recommend which does a better job that TeamViewer in this category?
Thanks

I am running Windows 7 on my PC and the latest version of Android on my Samsung 7" Galaxy 4 Nook tablet. I installed the newest versions of TeamViewer on both as I wanted to be able to control my PC remotely from the tablet. Setup went easily and flawlessly and the connection does allow me to take full control of the PC. This is a dynamite app!
However, one annoying idiosyncrasy popped up. As soon as the connection was initiated, TeamViewer caused the PC display to change resolution and size to match the landscape format of the Samsung screen. Looks great on the Samsung but miserable on the PC's display. Moreover, when I broke the connection, the PC display did not return to its former resolution or display shape. I had to reboot to return to its original condition.
Any suggestions on how to keep the PC in its "normal" display mode during the remote connection, or at least how to immediately restore the format as soon as the connection is broken?
Thanks, Phil

**P.S.:**
More people would benefit from an universal solution
But **in my case**, the phone is **Android Go**. It has no app overlay option.
For that reason, *Teamviewer Host* does not work.

Is there any way to configure TeamViewer for Android to **connect to it without any intervention** on remote side?

Actually my issue is that I want to use my tablet as a second display over USB. I have used team-viewer over WiFi and it works fine, but since it is over WiFi, there is significant lag which defeats the purpose of a second monitor.
So, I wanted to know whether I can get IP (Layer 3) connectivity with a USB cable and some app (maybe) on my WiFi only tablet. I don't have a USB tethering option in my settings. I also have enabled USB debugging mode.
I can easily do this on my phone which has "USB tethering option".

I know we can use the teamviewer app to connect to PC using internet connection for remote desktop connection.
But I want to know if it is possible to connect the PC with Phone using the Wifi connection. Both the Android device and the computer are on the same network, and I want to connect them directly, without needing internet access.
Teamviewer has an option to connect to PC's within same LAN. But these settings needs to be configured in the systems to be communicated.
I don't know how to change these settings in my phone. Does anyone know how to achieve this or know any better free app that allows remote desktop connection using wifi, without needing internet access?

It works ok. But still can't figure out how to press and hold home button to see all running apps in android using my mac's trackpad or keyboard.
I tried to move mouse over home button and press left mouse long and tried right mouse key but there is no result.

AirDroid comes very close, but it does not let the user manipulate the desktop. All other apps that I came across accessed Windows desktop from an Android device. I want it the other way around; something like TeamViewer.

Currently the TeamViewer QuickSupport v7.0.640 doesn't run on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (N7100). This is not a hardware problem but a problem with various devices running on Android 4.1.1
The problem seems to be a missing library, I get a handled exeption:
could not load application module:
Cannot load library:
link_image:
1936 could not load needed library 'libsurfaceflinger_client.so'
for 'libjniscreenshot23.so'
(load_library: Library 'libsurfaceflinger_client.so' not found)
So I managed to get a libsurfaceflinger_client.so by searching google.
According to this XDA Post i tried to push the library to /system/lib/ and then chmod rw-r--r--
After launching the App I now get a Force Close due to an unhandled exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError in Class:
com.teamviewer.incomingremotecontrollib.activity.MainActivity in Method:
onCreate()
Any ideas? My guess is that the downloaded library is not for Jelly Bean.
