Where is CP Message stored?
Today I got a message from my carrier. My phone (Galaxy Note 2) opened it in a screen titled 'CP Message' (I don't know if this was another app). I installed the file that my carrier sent to me. After I closed it, I could not find it anymore. Where is it? How can I find it again? Thanks.

I am trying to create some custom shortcuts for often-used words/phrases using the built in dictionary, but have run into a roadblock. I'm trying to follow the instructions in [this blog post](http://heresthethingblog.com/2012/12/04/androidiphone-tip-create-custom/) , specifically: > * Tap Settings, Language & Input, then “Personal dictionary.” (Note: the exact settings may differ depending on the make and model of your Android phone.) > * Tap the “+” sign in the top-right corner of the screen, then enter the word or phrase (like “on my way”) you’d like to make a shortcut for. > * Next, type a brief shortcut that’s easy to remember; for example, “omw” for “on my way.” > * Tap the Back key, and you’ll see an entry for the shortcut you just added. Want to add more shortcuts? Tap the “+” sign again. > * Now, go to the Messaging app, compose a new message, and tap one of your new shortcuts—and when you do, the phrase you entered will appear in the row of auto-correct options just above the keyboard. Tap the phrase to add it to your message. However, I'm not able to find these settings on my Galaxy Note 2. How can I do this? In the first step itself I am stuck. Didn't find any option for 'Personal Dictionary' sort of thing. Tap Settings, Language & Input, then “Personal dictionary.”

I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 now for more than 2 years. Since a week my phone reboots without an error. And when it reboots then it will keep rebooting, my phone can´t startup anymore. I need to remove the battery and charge it a little (even though my battery is 50% full) before it can startup normally. I already tried to factory reset my phone but this didn't help. Is there a way to determine why my phone keeps doing this or do I need to accept that my phone is broken?

I've recently received a Galaxy Note II, and am still in the phase of getting to know Android and Touchwiz. I've managed to sync some music onto it with iSyncr, but am having some problems playing it. I have two main issues: Half the time when I'm in the music app on the now playing screen, clicking the back key or song list button takes me to the current artist/album I'm listening to, and clicking back from there (presumably to go to the full list of artists/albums) takes me back to the now playing screen. So I have no way to choose another song to listen to. Sometimes it does this, sometimes it doesn't. It's weird. Second, I can't seem to find a way to get lockscreen music controls (short of installing a new lockscreen) that works. Supposedly TouchWiz puts music controls for you if you have a pattern or passcode, but that didn't seem to work. I tried as a replacement using the notification bar's music controls, but those sometimes just weren't there (I have no idea why). And one other thing- is it possible to set a volume limit as you can on iOS? Because when I listen to music anything above half is too loud and the increments below that are too big. These are pretty specific issues, but if anyone could help that would be great.

I have a few devices I want to put back from custom roms to stock. On almost every stock rom source, however, there are dire warnings for some devices not to downgrade to stock versions from before your latest installed rooted rom version. For example, from Androidayos : >**UPDATE**: DO NOT DOWNGRADE back to the old stock firmware version. Once your Galaxy Note 2 already runs on 4.4.2 based rooted ROM you should only revert back to 4.4.2 stock firmware, same as it goes if you are on 4.3 you may install and stay on 4.3 and then upgrade to 4.4.2 KitKat but do not ever downgrade to 4.1.2 or 4.1.1 due to the current secured bootloader on every update. I wish to really understand that warning. For example, if the bootloaders are secure, how is it so easy for people to flash custom roms for the first time, coming from those 'secure bootloader' stock firmware versions? What would actually happen and what problems would arise if one *did* downgrade just as is proscribed in the warning? If there's a "current secured bootloader on every update," why is it safe to flash the same version that one is currently running rooted, but downgrading is not? And so forth… I'm doing this to several devices, but the best is example is a Samsung Note II currently running Cyanogenmod 12.1, which is 5.1.1 Lollipop. In that device's case, *every stock firmware* is an older Android version than Lollipop, since no brand pushed OTA updates beyond 4.4 KitKat. If I go back to stock 4.4.2 KitKat, I'm going 5.1 to 4.4—doing what they're warning against. How do warnings like that pertain to devices in this state, and what should I expect?

I have had a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100GSMH) for almost 2 years now. Never rooted it, was always installing all recommended OS upgrades. After the latest one, the phone started rebooting itself randomly now and then. I was going to take a look into it but never had time. A few days ago, during such reboot, it got stuck at the logo screen (white Samsung Galaxy text). I've read it was called *bootloop* and, following info on the web, tried to wipe the cache. Having entered the recovery mode (Power Up + Home + Power), I received multiple messages E:cannot mount xxx (file or directory not found), with xxx being /system, /cache etc. I still tried to wipe the cache, it seemingly did so, and then displayed the same set of error messages. Then I tried the factory reset, again some activity and the same screen with all the error messages. This is what it shows exactly after the dead Android with red exclamation triangle: E:failed to mount /efs (No such file or directory) E:failed to mount /system (No such file or directory) # Manual mode # -- Appling Multi-CSC... E:failed to mount /system (No such file or directory) E:Can't mount /system (No such file or directory) E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory) E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_recovery E:failed to mount /data (No such file or directory) E:Can't mount /data/log/recovery_log.txt E:failed to mount /system (No such file or directory) E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory) E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log (a few more such errors) Android system recovery KOT49H.N7100XXUFNE1 Volume up/down to move highlight; power button to select (here goes the blue menu) Then I went the Kies way: Installed Kies (not Kies 3) on Windows 7, went into download mode (Power Down + Home + Power), and tried Tools/Firmware Upgrade and Initialization. Kies accepted the model and serial numbers, downloaded something, showed the window with the instructions and check boxes and then, after hitting Start upgrade, told me "This device version cannot be updated". I then went to Tools/Emergency firmware recovery, and received an empty list of devices that require recovery. This is what the phone shows in the download mode: ODIN MODE PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100 CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official SYSTEM STATUS: Official KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0 RP SWREV: A2 Finally, I tried Kies 3, with the same lack of success. Additionally, it was saying that I was using the wrong Kies version. I don't know if it's important, but my phone was encrypted (company policy). Is there anything useful you can guess from the above and recommend me doing before sending it to Samsung for a probably rather costly diagnostics/service?

Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/lineage-16-20200104-UNOFFICIAL-n7100.zip'

What I've tried to solve the problem were: - unzipping and rezipping the file - deleting the assert lines in /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script - rezipping after deleting asserts They still failed to fix the error. In between attempts I've wiped the cache, Dalvik, system, data as normal. Since ERROR: 7 is a very general problem, I think the problem is on line mkdir "/cache/recovery/8833b259bb088b2e13f62771d46006a40f54bc20/" failed: No such file or directory but for the life of me can't figure out what it means. I'm certain that mkdir is supposed to create a new directory from scratch, so I find the "No such file or directory" very odd. I'm using [Comico Team's custom ROM](https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/development/rom-lineageos-16-0-20190112-comico-t3889281/) and TWRP version 3.4.0. At first I did want to ask over there but the creators seemed to be unresponsive. So, anyone here know how to fix this?
