I'm clicking around to verify that it won't appear and the solution at this time seems to be that rebooting the phone will do it and I might not have to uninstall the search update which was mentioned.

I used a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (Android 4.1.2) and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (Android 4.4.2) for a product. I have been searching for ways to disable permanently the **Launcher** of Samsung's TouchWiz application (leave the rest as it is). I've found only two approaches which do not fit my needs. Both of them are: 1. Replace the launcher with another launcher one, and 2. Rooting the device and replacing the stock ROM with a custom ROM. This is what I'm currently doing, but it's not enough because if my custom launcher (developed myself) crashes, then the selection box will ask again to set the default launcher (mine or TouchWiz's). I want TouchWiz's to get out of the equation (list of available launchers). Replacing the ROM is not an option because I would have to test again my whole product. So this is not an option. Is there a way to disable the TouchWiz's launcher component of the TouchWiz app? Maybe through ADB? If anyone knows I would love the help. My devices are rooted and my custom launcher is a **system app**.

I've heard recently that Samsung phones are notorious for being susceptible to screen burn-in because of their AMOLED displays. Is that something I should be concerned about when using the Always-On Display feature?

I'm a TWRP maintainer for the SM-T110 *(Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite)*, and I'm trying to fix some issues I get while booting up TWRP. The device halts for a while during boot time, and then TWRP starts. Here are the logs that are related with the issue. I tried getting the healthd binary from the stock TouchWiz firmware, but it is not present in /sbin/healthd where it should be. I've also done an entire find search, and no file named healthd is present. I am stuck on how to fix this. Any help would be much appreciated!

Similar to https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/27411/how-to-edit-the-home-dock-icons-shortcuts-on-touchwiz-4-0-ics I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with Android 4.0.4. I can't for the life of me figure out how to edit the home screen dock icons on the default launcher (Touchwiz). I've tried: - Long pressing on a home dock icon (nothing happens). - Long pressing an app in the home screen to drag onto the home dock. (Home dock icons disappear and are replaced by a Delete bar across the bottom of the screen) - On the home screen, press Menu -> Edit. (Home dock icons disappear and are replaced by 4 icons: Create folder, Create page, App info, Delete). - In the Apps list with a Customizable grid view, press Menu -> Edit. This is the answer to the linked question. (Allows editing of the Apps listing, but doesn't bring the home dock icons onto the screen so I cannot modify them) Before I updated to 4.0.4 I could change the shortcuts in the home screen dock, and I put Google Chrome there to replace the default browser. After updating I now want to replace it with Firefox. I am in Australia. I have friends with grey imports of the same phone from Hong Kong that don't exhibit this behaviour on 4.0.4.

I've recently received a Galaxy Note II, and am still in the phase of getting to know Android and Touchwiz. I've managed to sync some music onto it with iSyncr, but am having some problems playing it. I have two main issues: Half the time when I'm in the music app on the now playing screen, clicking the back key or song list button takes me to the current artist/album I'm listening to, and clicking back from there (presumably to go to the full list of artists/albums) takes me back to the now playing screen. So I have no way to choose another song to listen to. Sometimes it does this, sometimes it doesn't. It's weird. Second, I can't seem to find a way to get lockscreen music controls (short of installing a new lockscreen) that works. Supposedly TouchWiz puts music controls for you if you have a pattern or passcode, but that didn't seem to work. I tried as a replacement using the notification bar's music controls, but those sometimes just weren't there (I have no idea why). And one other thing- is it possible to set a volume limit as you can on iOS? Because when I listen to music anything above half is too loud and the increments below that are too big. These are pretty specific issues, but if anyone could help that would be great.

How do I auto arrange icons in the app menu?
My device is a Samsung Galaxy Ace / Cooper. It's running on Froyo. I want to auto arrange icons in the app menu. Is there a way to do this? Like auto arrange alphabetically? Is there a built-in function for doing this? Or an app on the market for the same purpose?

I recently made the mistake of rooting my Galaxy S4, accompanied by a few more customizations. Problems that occur: - TouchWiz freezes. One way to unfreeze is to hold down the Home button to see recently opened apps and then go back, so that Touchwiz wakes up. The other way is to pull down the Notification bar and click Settings or anything else from there that'll send me to a different app so I can avoid it. If I don't do any of these within 5 seconds the freezing occurs, the device restarts. - The device also restarts when the CPU is *suddenly* expected to work hard. For instance, within the first minute of a call, or when the screen is locked/unlocked, a couple seconds after opening a music file. This happens 3-5 times a day, depending on usage. The restart is not always preceded by a freeze, but often there's a freeze before the restart. Recent changes that may be causing such behaviour: - Rooting using AutoRoot by Chainfire. - Giving CPU Master root permissions after SuperSU is installed. - Installing busybox. - Patching modded Google Play Store (involves patching Core.jar package) What I did so far: - Uninstall CPU Master. - Delete cache and data of Touchwiz - Remove busybox - Remove all custom patches from core.jar - Install the original Google Play Store and update to latest version I don't think Touchwiz is causing the crashes because somethimes the phone restarts while an app is in use. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I removed the original Samsung ROM altogether and switched to Cyanogenmod. Thus I may not be able to upvote/tick the replies from then on.

Google's photo sphere functionality for Samsung TouchWiz phone?
My vanilla Android tablet (4.2/4.3) has this very fun feature in the camera app, that allows easily creating StreetView-like 360° composite pictures. My Samsung TouchWiz phone (4.2) does not have this same feature in camera app. Is there a way to get it?

[This post by cgirerd, on XDA says](https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/custom-rom-stock-camera-t3746061) , > All the custom ROMs out there that are not Touchwiz-based don't use the stock camera (and the stock camera can't be installed on them). So, by using ROMs such as Lineage OS, Resurrection Remix OS, crDroid, AOSP and so on, you will get lower quality than on Touchwiz-based ROMs such as SuperMan-ROM, BatMan-ROM, IronMan-ROM. As a programmer, I'm not sure what that means but I'm inclined to think there may be some truth to it or he knows what he's talking about. When cgirerd says "stock camera" is he referring to the stock camera application, or the stock camera firmware/drivers for the ROM? I have an Samsung S5, and I use LineagOS and I've never noticed even a slight degradation in camera quality; but, I'm also of the mindset that the world we be a better place if phone didn't have cameras and almost never use my own. Is there any truth to that post by cgirerd?

TouchWiz (TouchWiz Nature UX on Samsung Galaxy S III mini) allows **creating folders** and reorganizing application in application list / **app drawer** (in "Apps") when using 'Customisable grid' view type: "Menu > View type > Customisable grid", then "Menu > Create folder" screenshot of TouchWiz application list with two folders This allows creating folders to group applications. You can edit name of folder by touching it and then touching on name, you can put such folder on home screen / launcher via long press, and you can put applications in folder via "Menu > Edit" and selecting folder (edit works only on folders); then in this edit mode you can add apps with "+", and remove them by moving them outside folder. screenshot of TouchWiz application list with editing folder I cannot find however how to ***remove*** such folder from TouchWiz app drawer. (The articles and answers I have found by googling are about folders on home screens, i.e. in apps launcher not apps drawer).
