I would like to know is there any way to **backup Samsung A20s device through download mode/bootloader mode?**
My device went into bootloop tried so many things only left to reinstall firmware but its lost user data so i need to backup before doing that any way?
How it happens-
- Charging over night besides my bed,
- My hand touch the adapter and some cracks in the socket heard
- The charger still working and charging other stuffs.
- In the morning my device turned off randomly.
- When I wakeup the device shows you
>Device unable to bootup normally with suggesting three options
>1. Try again - tried so many times still fails
>2. Wipe app data (which is I think safe but needs a backup before doing that, thats what I'm looking for right now)
>3. Poweroff - even after powered off its on again (automatically without my actions) and kept doing the bootloop
Well why I mentioned the charging case is because that's the only thing i know before this happening (I'm in sleeping too not remember what happens after that),and I doubt if its any in case trouble in the mobile board so that's why I mentioned. Likely I don' think it was that but a doubt. And **I am able to enter recovery mode and bootloader mode (entering via recovery and show download mode (idk is that download or bootloader mode or these 2 things are same, I tried a backup using download mode in realme devices but not with Samsung)**
And when I tried to enter recovery it shows a android image and with error text labeled under the image. It shows for a split second and boots into recovery mode. Also happens with powerup mid bootloop (when I saw this I thought some firmware bug. Because of this, that I thought the charging case is not the issue, not sure till now.
Is there any way i can fix this? have any method to backup?

I often receive the following error message when attempting to perform Android security updates:
> There was a network error while downloading the update. Please try again later or connect to a different network.
In researching this error message, it is apparent that many other people have been reporting the same issue for years:
- Update cannot be downloaded on specific networks : GooglePixel
https://old.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/10whijh/update_cannot_be_downloaded_on_specific_networks/
- Not able to update to android 15. Shows error in network while downloading although connected to WiFi - Google Pixel Community
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/322921191/not-able-to-update-to-android-15-shows-error-in-network-while-downloading-although-connected-towifi
- Pixel 7 System Update Fails : GooglePixel
https://old.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/ycejcz/pixel_7_system_update_fails/
- There was a network error while downloading the update. Please try again later or connect to a diffe - Google Pixel Community
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/205161477/there-was-a-network-error-while-downloading-the-update-please-try-again-later-or-connect-to-a-diffe
Over the years, people have offered "magical" solutions, such as toggling WiFi on and off, which likely has nothing to do with the real issue. Yet some do claim that such actions have temporarily fixed the issue (not myself, though). What's even more odd is that those reporters have not indicated they made any additional changes.
In Google's latest Android version, Android 16, this issue is still present.
Ironically, the issue seems to be most prevalent on Google's own Pixel devices.
Does anyone know what is causing this bug and how to actually fix it?
Update
---
A couple of our community members asked some good questions... here are the answers:
- The issue occurs regardless of whether WiFi or carrier data is used.
- I've seen the issue occur on many Google Pixel devices, starting with the Pixel 4. Online reports indicate it was present going back to at least the Pixel 2. I've seen this issue on several Samsung devices as well, although online reports of this issue tend to mention the Pixel devices more often than Samsung devices.
- Regarding proxies, VPNs, or blocked ports/servers, I need to investigate further. It definitely happens on a wide range of devices and on a wide range of networks, but perhaps there is a common element that I can discover.

I tried everything here to no avail:
* update the software
* hard format
* delete cache
* unplug the battery jack for 10 seconds

Since recently the phone i have been using for about 2.5 years has developed an issue with it's audio and video codecs.
Videos won't play in the Google Chrome app, in the YouTube app, not in Whatsapp or Telegram either. Downloaded videos won't play from the gallery except when i use VLC app (Which is known for having it's own codecs bundled).
Audio won't play either, i don't hear a ringtone when i am being called, when i set an alarm for in the morning it goes off but only vibrates (no sound), and music players either don't play the song or skip through all the songs at a fast pace.
I am not debugging something i wrote, this is my phone's system failing on it's own. I tried to unlock the bootloader 2 years ago but never got any kind of special access to the system. I also didn't get any updates on the system since i bought the phone sadly.
I used ADB to get the error logs from me setting an alarm with default ringtone, and it confirms a codec error like i suspected (vorbis codec this time, but other codecs also have the same issue):
[ 01-02 16:07:00.342 13560:13560 E/SoftOMXPlugin ]

This goes beyond what i know about Android system, but a full reboot seems to fix the issue temporarily but this is not a good way to make sure your alarm goes off several hours later..
I pasted the full ADB log in a pastebin for those interested.
What can i do except do a hard reset or buy a new phone?

> System has been modified please contact the manufacturer, thank you!
I can't unlock my phone without having to touch the upper portion of the screen where it will show you the time, date, and the setting icon for your phone. So, after doing so, I tap the "back" button or "home" just to see the phone menu and do stuff. I know something on those deleted folders has something to do with this.
This has been my problem for 4 months already. I've been to different technicians, but all they do is charge me overprice.
Can somebody help me?

Why would Android (or perhaps something in Samsung's ROM?) be presenting this message?

I have quite an old mobile phone Asus Zenfone 4 Max (ZC520KL, X00HD_4) with Android 8.1.0.
When starting, it asks for the schema to unlock then it restarts indefinitely, showing some recovering options (try again or restart).
- I restarted with the **volume down** + **power** buttons to have further recovery options.
- I have tried to wipe the cache partition before restarting, without any success.
I would like to avoid wiping data as I received my new mobile phone the day of the old one's crash. I would like to recover data.
If I run graphics tests, the test is failing (I have no further details).
Last_logs
file is showing this error:
>Libc: access denied finding property ro.sf.lcd.density
W:Failed to read max brightness: permission denied
>
>Kmsg_logs:\
/soc/qcom,cam_smmu/msm_cam_smmu_cb1: could not get #iommu-cells for soc/qcom,iommu@1e0000
Is there any way to fix this issue? Is there any hidden shell that I could run on the mobile to set the missing parameter and maybe make the mobile start? I cannot install any application as I cannot start the mobile.
If not, is there any way to copy the data from the mobile to the computer? I cannot go further than the recovery menu.
I would like to avoid running a factory reset not to lose data, but if I have no choice, is there any way to recover the reset data?
I have no Google recovery, nor SD card in the mobile as it was not detecting it for a few months. It seems the debug mode is disabled as adb devices
does not show anything. I don't know how to use fastboot correctly.
**EDIT**
Unfortunately, I have wiped data by running a factory reset. I think I have lost the last 2 years photos without any possible recovery. If someone could confirm or not, as I could continue hoping or not

Just checking if anyone faced an issue with "Android System: User Data Locked" on Huawei P30 Pro.
My Huawei P30 Pro got locked after a middle-of-the-night auto-update. I keyed in the usual password the next morning but the login failed. I tried all different passwords and it still doesn't work. To make matters worse and for whatever reasons, the phone went into airplane mode after a few restarts of the phone.
I cannot afford a factory reset as it contains all her work and personal stuff. We went to Huawei Service Centre and they are unable to help as well.
Any way to force kick the phone out of airplane mode?

I have a Samsung Note 3. It normally works very well, but I just got this error message:
Unfortunately, the process com.sec.ims.android has stopped.
OK
When I selected "OK", the error message went away for just long enough to do something very quick (such as a single button click, a small scroll, etc.), then the same error message came back.
After ignoring my phone for quite a while, I found a different error message:
Process system isn't responding.
Do you want to close it?
Wait OK
When I clicked "OK", the error message went away – and the original "Unfortunately" error message came back.
I tried a slow-click of the right button, and the "Device options" dialog box came up – underneath the "Unfortunately" error message. And this time, the "Unfortunately" error message wouldn't go away, not even long enough to select from "Device options".
My next step was a battery-pull power cycle. That appears to have resolved the problem – for now – but the few answers I found with a web search for the "Unfortunately" error message suggest it might recur again soon.
---
So, two questions:
- Does anyone have a general solution to the problem? I can pull the battery, but that's a hassle (remove armor, remove back of phone, pull battery, put everything back together). Ideally I'd like a fix that makes it go away and not return. Failing that, I'd like a fix that minimizes recurrence.
- Can anyone explain what the process "com.sec.ims.android" is, and what it does? (A web search suggests that "IMS" in this context means "IP Multimedia System".) Is it specific to Samsung?
---
Since I mention web search results, and they might not be there next time someone searches, here's a summary:
- One reply suggests this [sic]:
Go into settings>General>app manager>All> find contacts and open it then clear cache. If that doesnt help. Clear cache and data. Fixed it for me.
- Another reply says that clearing cache and data in contacts fixes the problem, but only for a call or two.
- Yet another reply says that dismissing the error message once solves the problem.
