I'm constantly harassed by these *" Download unsuccessful."* notifications. Download unsuccessful. After taking the above screenshot, I cleared the entire notifications list. Within the next three minutes (usually even less), the list was already overflowing again. Download unsuccessful. I've learned to manage the symptom by navigating to the ***Download Manager*** application settings; hitting *FORCE STOP*, followed by *CLEAR DATA*, and *CLEAR CACHE*. Although the notifications slowly start showing up again. Just one at first, but gradually increasing in number with each occurance. Within a day or two, the numbers are usually back out of control. Download Manager application settings Download Manager application settings I have no idea what it's supposedly attempting to download, or why. But whatever it is, it's not instigated by myself. I could just disable download notifications, but I'd rather identify the underlying problem and kill it directly. Needless to say, I'm not too keen on my devices automatically trying to download random mystery files from the internet. Any ideas? Thanks. FYI: The device in question is a **ZTE Blade L5** smartphone.

ZTE Blade A54 phone comes out of the box with Google applications for Phone, Contacts and Messages. Yesterday I downloaded alternative applications from Fossify and set them as default ones. Now I heared the phone vibrating. It seems that it rebooted without any obvious reason. After it booted, I found out that Phone, Contacts and Messages applications were resetted back to the Google's ones. I thought that it was an automatic system update, but according to the log, the last system update was installed a month ago. How to find out which application / service triggered the restoration? Was it Google Play? Was it some system guard service? Howwto find it out?

I nearly get nuts because I cannot root my ZTE Blade V6 (europe version). In the past I have rooted several android devices. Actually it was quite the same procedure everytime: 1. Install platform-tools (adb and fastboot) 2. Make device appear in "adb -devices" 3. Make device appear in "fastboot devices" 4. Flash any recovery via fastboot (I tend to prefer CWM) 5. Copy Custom-ROM (usually a *.zip for the OS and one for gapps) to internal or external space 6. Start phone into recovery and install the zip and afterwards the gapps 7. Done However this seems to fail on the ZTE Blade V6 this time: If I go to the stock recovery, it is all in chinese (or some other letters I can not read). So I flashed a CWM recovery.img to the phone, from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/twrp-recovery-3-0-2-zte-blade-v6-t3362252 . The flashing seems to work (However it says: target didn't report max-download-size) But it does not boot into it. It just does not do anything after flashing the recovery. No Recovery, no fastboot. Only thing that works after that is normal start. Directly sending adb reboot recovery after flashing makes a simple restart of the device into stock ROM. I tried different recovery images but the output is usually the same. Somewhere I found a command that does directly boot the image and not only flash it: fastboot boot recovery.img All the images I tried report FAILED (remote: bad boot image header) when directly booted this way. Can someone tell me what's wrong and/or help me flash my droid?

I don't want that, so in display option of contacts I just unchecked SIM contacts, which solves the problem in the Contacts app. But I face the same problem when I am composing a SMS message. When searching for contacts it shows both Phone and SIM contacts. Is there any way to disable SIM Contacts everywhere?

If I attempt to click on it to remove it as an admin, the settings app immediately pops up a msg box - "settings has stopped". Trying to find an answer, I've attempted searches in FF & Duck but the results were rediculously unrelated. Quite some time ago I stopped updating all google apps & disappointedly learned several apps cannot be; stopped, uninstalled or disabled!

I have a ZTE Blade L5 Plus with Android 5.1 that I was using for a while. Now I'm using a Samsung Galaxy phone. I want to remove the Google account from my old phone, so I can give it to a friend. On the Samsung phone, I go to "Settings" then "Cloud and accounts" then "Accounts" then "Google" then I tap the Menu button (or vertical ellipsis⋮ - the three dots button) and I get two options: "Sync now" and "Remove account". So this is easy on Samsung. But on ZTE, I go to "Settings" then on the third tab "Personal", I choose the third options "Accounts", then "Google" but here, if I tap the menu button, I only get the option "Sync now". In this screen I have the following three options: * Sign-in & security * Personal info & privacy * Account preferences If I go to "Account preferences", I have the option "Delete your Google Account" but that's for completely deleting my account, not for removing it from the telephone. This question already exists , but for a slightly different version of the OS: Android 5.0.1

I have a ZTE Blade A1 with pre-installed malware. I'm only able to identify and remove some of it. So, I want to delete everything on the phone and install a custom ROM. Unfortunately, I cannot find any ROMs which explicitly support the ZTE Blade A1. I've decided to try putting CyanogenMod on the device (or possibly something else), as it *does* support older versions of the ZTE Blade. My plan is as follows: 1. Create a backup of the existing ROM using ROM Manager 2. Run the device in recovery mode (using the default Android system recovery - CWM or TWRP do not explicitly support the Blade A1, so I won't risk using them) 3. Use the fastboot commands fastboot -w and fastboot update rom.zip to install the custom ROM 4. Restart the phone, and if it has stopped working, repeat steps 2 - 3 using the backed-up ROM from step 1 I've read up on using custom ROMs, but have found a lot of conflicting information. So, my question is: *Will this replace the pre-installed OS with a custom ROM? Is there a risk the phone won't be restored to its original state?* **Update:** I haven't been able to confirm whether the phone can be irreversibly bricked by installing a custom ROM. However, if anyone comes across this question wanting to remove malware from the ZTE Blade A1, I have posted a solution here .

Help me identify this tablet and whether there are custom ROMs for it

More searching seemed to suggest it was a Blade S7, but *Ask Mr Pigfish*, a software meant to identify a ZTE Blade model, reports that I have an "unknown model". I'd really like to figure this one out so I could root it and setup a custom ROM, and I'd appreciate any help!

Successfully installed CM7 on ZTE Blade and simple2ext (S2E ) made me excited. I've partitioned my SD in CWM recovery and I guess it was Ext3 partition. But one thing was mistake. I have checked in S2E checkbox says mount sd-ext partition as Ext4 and everything was okay until I wanted to make backup from recovery. All part passed succesfully but /sd-ext and I've googled this thread says : > "clockworkmod doesn't support ext4 on the blade. ext3 works." Unticking that checkbox makes all unworkable. What can I do now to make ext-partition to ext3 back and backup it succesfully by recovery? At this moment I want to make wipe or hard or factory reset to check something with clean android installation and then go back to my phone's current state. Maybe it's no need to make partition from ext4 to be ext3? ROM: CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC1-blade-KANG (2.3.7 by BurgerZ) Kernel: 2.6.35.7-perf+

One of them - my girl's - can connect to home and other (public i.e. McDonalds) wifi AP's even if it's signal is just one bar (it's about 6-7 meters from home router and there are two perpendicular walls on the way). But my can't do that even if 4 bars. (Also, if it can help, same situation with the gps fixes.) I wondering why two same devices have such different behavior? I heard that there are some patch or something to allow android to connect to wifi AP with weak signal but can't find this solution. I know thac ICS have an option Avoid poor connections but I'm not on ICS and don't want to flash it on my Blade. Please, if you have any information or solution about that, help me to fix my device.
