I've searched high and low for a way to move my apps, completely, to SD card but to no avail. And I don't want to "link" them to SD. I want to "move" them to create space.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

Device: Nexus 7 (2013 WIFI)
ROM: AOKP_FLO_KITKAT_NIGHTLY_2014-07-31
Rooted: Yes
Recovery: TWRP (Not sure if this is needed)
I am posting this because I recently started getting "insufficient storage" error on my device. I've had this before and I knew exactly had to fix it because I had come back from a vacation then and there were a lot of pictures on the device; So it was a simple matter of moving all the pictures and videos off the device for it to start working again.
This time however it is a little confusing for me. I will start with some pictures:
*Settings > Storage* / *ES File Explorer* > Top_left menu > Tools drop-down > SD Card Analyst (click images for larger variants)
So far everything looks fine, I seem to have a lot of space left to install one measly app right? Just to confirm, I used Clean Master to try to move some apps to device storage:
Clean Master > App Manager > Move
No gimmicks here, Clean Master sees that I only have one storage medium on my device. So why do I get these errors?
*Google play* (Trying to install an app that is less than 1MB in size) / AIDE (Trying to run an app)
I'm just confused about the whole thing. Everything else seems to be saying I **have** enough space, but apps are not being installed because I **don't have** enough. What can I do here?
EDIT: Even more weirdness, it won't let me install the 300Kb file with the image I posted above, but it lets me install a 3Mb file from the playstore. Basically I can install some apps but not others and it doesn't matter the size, my device just wants to make me crazy no problem. Ex. This app (2.6M) installed fine, but this one (2.1M) didn't due to "Not enough space".
**What I have tried:**
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1834105
- Installing and running DiskUsage and here is a screnshot:
Couple observations:
--> It let me install this App and still not letting me install the other apps I have tried with the insufficient memory message still showing
--> The above pic shows that I have enough space left on the
Note I have tried the solution posted at the "Possible Duplicate" link and it did not work nor did I expect it to. The problem here is not that I have insufficient space to install apps because as you can see, I have a lot of space and I am able to install some apps. The problem is deeper than that and probably has to do with the way files are installed on my tablet

/data
partition to install atleast A LOT of apps!
- Output of running the df
command:

I have somehow run out of space on my LG G3. Under storage under Misc I see have a 6.34GB System Data file.
I tried dialing
*#9900#
as suggested in Low on Space, "System data" huge! in order to delete the dumpstate/logcat but when I dial *#9900#
it tells me it's an invalid MMI code.
Note that my phone is not rooted. I can get to the hidden diagnostic menu using the international code shown on [Gadget Hacks](https://lg-g3.gadgethacks.com/how-to/unlock-hidden-menu-run-diagnostic-test-your-lg-g3-0156740/) , i.e. 3845#*855#
, however I can't see any menu items that look like they might clear that system file.
Any ideas?

I have a problem: **I cannot install any .apk file** no matter what I try... I can install apps using **Play Store** though.
When I tap on an APK file in any file explorer, Android Package Installer launches. I tap the INSTALL button but I always got the following error:
> Out of space {AnyAPKApp} couldn't be installed. Free up some space and
> try again.
I have *plenty* of space, but even a tiny 248 KB APK won't install with the same argument...
This is the only problem I have with the ROM and it is very frustrating...
First, the details of my case:
- *Device:* Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime+ SM-G532M, alias Galaxy J2 Prime (Xtreme detects my device as *Model Number:* SM-G950F)
- *Android:* 6.0.1
- *ROM:* Xtreme Ultimate V6.0 (15.07.2018)
- *TWRP:* 3.0.2-0
- *Magisk:* v17.1
- *Magisk Manager:* 6.0.1 (151)
- *Storage:* Adoptable
- *Internal storage:* 7.02 GB used of 8.00 GB
- *SD card:* 9.09 GB used of 14.70 GB
- *Root Essentials "View storage used":* 9759/15787 MB (62%)
- *DiskUsage analysis:* /system = 2.94 GiB; Free space 1.61 GiB
I've already done my homework and tried all of the following to no avail:
1. Move all movable apps to SD
2. Enable Adoptable storage
3. Wipe *Dalvik / ART Cache* and *Cache* partitions with TWRP
4. Full clean with *SD Maid PRO*
5. Force move apps to SD using *SD Maid PRO*
6. Uninstall *Google Play Services* and *Google Play Store* updates
7. Overcome *unauthorized device* issue while using ADB
8. Trying to install APK using ADB (e.g. adb install someApp.apk). I got:
df output" class="img-fluid rounded" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 10px 0;" loading="lazy">
12. Using
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]
9. Delete /data/log
contents as suggested here
10. Attempt to install in Safe Mode
11. Using Termux and the df
command, I got the following output and there is free space in each partition:
pm install test.apk
in a terminal emulator (*Termux*) I got [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_URI]
. Using full path pm install /storage/emulated/0/Download/test.apk
I got the same error: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]
The problem still remains. I think this is not really related to the full storage device error, I have plenty and the error seems misleading. It has to be something else...
I gave as much info as I thought it was useful. If more is needed, just tell me to share it.
I hope you can give me some advice to try to overcome this annoying issue.
*P.S. I'll add more attempts to my list as I try them.*

In my Samsung Galaxy S9, WhatsApp is showing that it uses 37.89GB of internal storage when I checked the app info.
Due to that, my phone's data is getting full and all the other apps are getting hung due to less storage space left in my mobile phone.
When I checked the WhatsApp 'Settings' -> 'Data and storage usage' it shows only 195.1MB of data has been stored for WhatsApp.
From where the 37.89GB of data is being shown in the app info on my phone?
**Please note:** I don't want to delete my WhatsApp and reinstall it to fix this issue because I don't want to lose my WhatsApp messages, and I can't take the backup also because there is no more space left on my mobile to take the backup.

How to finally fix my internal memory on the Wildfire S? Why is Data2SD not working with the Jelly Bean ROM and why is Link2SD so ineffective? Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
The main problem seems to be the Dalvik Cache on the
/data
partition and around 290 MB for the /system
partition. Both of them are full. (In addition I got a 16 GB SD-card.)
Installing apps, upgrading apps, running most of the apps - impossible.
Now, I knew it's possible to move apps to SD-card, the so called **apps2sd** procedure which offers very limited functionality to move *some* of the application data to the SD-card. Anyways after moving every possible data to SD the internal memory was still full and the phone unusable.
I was reading about more sustainable methods like **data2sd**. I gave it a try. I used the instructions from htcdev.com to unlock the bootloader , I installed the latest ClockWorkMod Recovery and rooted the device permanently.
Finally, I used the rooted device to install Android 4.1.2 AOKP Jelly Bean Custom ROM and Data2SD like discribed in the linked articles. But I was stuck the device was not booting until I removed Data2SD. The AOKP-ROM was working pretty well and stable, but installing Data2SD simply did not work in combination with Jelly Bean (SD-card formatting: 11 GB FAT23, 4GB ext4 and 256 MB Swap).
Now, I tried to go for the **link2sd** approach. I reformatted my SD-card (14 GB FAT32 and 2GB ext4) and installed Link2SD on my phone as described here . I was able to move additional data and apps to my SD-card and could link some apps to the card.
And now after some days playing around with all that usefull tipps from the internet, for example this thread: https://android.stackexchange.com/q/2065/29916 - **I am at the point where I started**. This is my result: Internal memory is still full and the phone is still unusable. (I would love to post a screenshot, but taking screenshots simply does not work currently.)

/data
partition (around 100 MB). Is there any way to completly use the SD card to somehow get partitions mounted at /data
and /system
?

But my device is not full. I have 2.34 GB free (of 64GB) in system memory (I do not have an SD card installed).
Shouldn't that be enough to take a few hundred pictures?

This phone has 2 GB of internal storage, is fully rooted (along with custom recovery and ROM I said above) and current OS version is Android 5.1 (not 6 sadly).
For now I only ran
adb shell pm set-install-location 2
This command works very well, although in my case this isn't enough as installed apps make configurations right on
/storage/emulated/0/.android
and data folder. And are bigger than apps itself.
I tried to run
mv /storage/emulated/0/ /storage/sdcard1/internal/ && ln -s /storage/sdcard1/internal/ /storage/emulated/0/
but the command failed on the first subcommand (mv
) exactly like here: [Can't move folder in Android terminal](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/34820052/cant-move-folder-in-android-terminal) and heard it won't link between devices anyway.
Is it possible to move internal to external or do I need to suffer with non-updated apps, blocked SMS and new downloads?

2. On System Setting under Storage, it displays "Total space 581 MB" out of which 89 MB is available. Internal Storage is 2.57 GB out of which 2.56 GB is available. While on other mobiles of other brands, I don't see the distinction between System space and Internal Storage. Why this discrepancy and what are the consequences?
3. I have rooted my device... Is there some method where I can increase my system space to include the Internal Storage which is lying almost completely un-utilized?

Bootlooped phone due to lack of internal storage memory.
The phone is not rooted. Not a custom ROM.
USB debugging is disabled. adb is disabled.
Give me some solutions to have access to the internal memory, to transfer some files from the phone to the laptop to free up the memory.
or convert the memory card or usb flash drive into a part of the internal memory so that the system boots and comes up.
Phone files are important to me, I don't want them to be deleted.

I recently started getting the following notification:
> Low on space: Phone storage space is getting low.
When I click on the notification, it takes me to the "All" applications screen listing how much space each application takes, and at the bottom it shows:
> Internal storage: 296MB used, 452MB free
Why is it complaining about low space when only 1/3 of the internal storage has been used?
**Edit**: This is on an HTC Incredible both before and after the upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread.
**Edit 2**: Looks like it's not just me:

http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=20014&q=low%20memory&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=02216e9b3aed01ad&hl=en
etc.
**Edit 3**: Called Verizon about the issue (expecting to get the standard "do a factory reset"), but instead got escalated to Tier 2. The Tier 2 person looked up the issue in their system and said it was a known bug and that HTC is requesting all people with the bug not do a factory reset but instead call their tech support at 866-449-8358. I called them and they told me a fix (via OTA update) has been released and will upgrade the Android version to 4.08.605.2 (I currently have 4.06.605.3). Last night my phone did try to do another OTA update, but after restarting it complained that it could not install it due to low memory. The HTC rep told me to remove applications from the phone until the low memory warning went away, then dial the following number to force the phone to check for system updates (it normally only does it once a week or so):
*#*#2432546#*#*
I did this and still haven't received notification of a system update, but hopefully within a week I'll get pushed the new version...
**Edit 4**: Called again (both HTC and Verizon) to see if there was any other way to force the update again, but they told me all I could do is try a factory reset. A *lot* of people are running into this, more references:

However, the phone lists the free space as being 125.57MB, about 25 times the size of the file I wanted to install.
I took the APKs I was trying to download and put them on my SD card. I was able to install them to the device from there proving it does indeed have space.
What should I do?
