How can I provide a gallery for the system camera app on a fully managed phone

I have a fully managed (by Microsoft Intune) Samsung Galaxy A34 phone, that comes with a system camera but no gallery. I have added a third-party gallery app to our managed Play Store along with a third-party camera app. The third party apps work along nicely, however, the system camera app tells me that there's no app associated for this action, when I tap on the miniature image that the camera app shows of the last photo that was taken. Is there a solution for this, or am I stuck with my third-party apps workaround?

How to inject pictures from the phone's gallery into the camera feed in real time?
An Android app is requesting pictures from the camera feed. I wish to inject the picture from my gallery rather than doing it in real time. Any ways, like tools on rooted phones, or Android emulators for this?

I'd like to delete some files on my Android device (Xiaomi) by deleting files stored by WhatsApp that I didn't save in my gallery. I have a few questions. 1) If I understand correctly, whenever I send a media by WhatsApp (being it a video recorded in the app or a video/picture already existing in my gallery) it creates a copy of the media in the following folder. Is it correct? Internal memory\Android\media\com.whatsapp\WhatsApp\Media\WhatsApp Video\Sent Internal memory\Android\media\com.whatsapp\WhatsApp\Media\WhatsApp Images\Sent 2) If I delete those media (even if they were originally in my gallery), will I delete them also from the gallery or only from that folder? 3) I see that in my gallery I have some media from Internal memory\Android\media\com.whatsapp\WhatsApp\Media\WhatsApp Video. These are the media I received by WhatsApp and I saved in my gallery (be default or explicitly). Is it correct? In this case, if I delete them, I would delete them also in my gallery (meaning I won't have them anymore on my device).

When media are received through WhatsApp groups and contacts, they are stored in the storage and are available for the media scanner to list them. When I view the WhatsApp videos folder in MXPlayer, I see the videos that I received through WhatsApp. Occasionally, when I see such an interesting video or image, I forward it to some people or groups, but later to realize that I received it through them. This strikes only when I open the chat history to see the same media sent by someone else. **Question:** In this situation, I want to find out the sender (or the group) without opening and scanning the WhatsApp messages to avoid this embarrassment. I guess the file naming convention only helps to find the date and time.

I made a backup of my device using "Setting" → "Accounts and backup" → "Google drive" → "Back up data" → "Back up now" → under "Photos and videos" I checked "Backup photos and videos from this device to your Google Account" checkbox. After one hour the backup completed. I did factory reset, chose to restore from backup and selected the backup file. Now everything got restored except the Gallery photos. Those photos appear in Google Photos. I have around 950 photos. How do I download all of them *at once*, so that they become available in my Gallery app?

Today, I was trying to curate a selection of photo's of my friend in my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S21). During that process I accidentally moved photos to the wrong album and then the images disappeared from my phone. These photos are important to me, can anyone help me recover them? What I did that caused the photo's to disappear, I: 1. opened the Samsung gallery app on my phone 2. created an automatically generated album with all photo's of my friend. 3. created a new, empty album in which I wanted to curate the photo's. 4. selected in the automatically created album the best pictures of my friend. 5. moved the selected pictures from the automatically generated album to the album of whatsapp photo's (I selected the wrong album to move the photo's to by mistake). I moved about 20 images. Of one specific image I know the content and creation date well and used that image to try to figure out where the images went. Where I looked so far is: 1. The whatsapp folder I moved the images to. I went to the place in the album where I expected the image (based on its creation date) and it wasn't there. 2. The thrash folder inside the gallery app. This only contained 1 unrelated video, not the images. 3. Since that specific image was sent to me via whatsapp, I went to the original message where the image was sent to me. There the image was shown as not downloaded and when I clicked on it to download it, it gave an error and whatsapp suggested to ask the original sender to send it again. The images within that whatsapp message thread before and after apeared as normal. Only this specific image which was part of the images I moved was unavailable. 4. Finally I also looked through the 'recent' album in the gallery app and also didn't find the image there where I expected it based on its creation date. For other users, things I should have done (but didn't do) to prevent this issue: 1. I shouldn't have moved the images, but copied them. 2. I should have set-up a cloud back-up of my images. Is there anything I can do to try to find the images? Or to even understand what happened here? I am a developer by trade (although not a mobile/Android developer), so I am comfortable with potential solutions that go beyond the UI of the phone. Is there anything I can do at this point?

When traveling I usually only have my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+) with me but not a real PC. So to have a quick check of the pictures I took during the day with my DSLR camera I'd love to use the big tablet screen (or even the hotel TV connected with HDMI) and not the small camera display. So I got myself an USB-C "dock" that can read SD Cards (and also output HDMI). Using the Samsung file viewer I can now see the internal storage, the SD Card (which is the micro SD in the tablet internal reader) and also "USB storage" - which is exactly the SD card from my DSLR that I want to view. So everything could be fine. But no gallery app that I tried could access the "USB storage". The only thing that worked was to open an individual picture by selecting it in the Samsung File app and then choosing the picture viewing app. But even in this case the viewing app couldn't open any other picture of the USB attached SD card by itself. What possibilities do I have to view my pictures in such a setting where the SD card is in a card reader connected by USB?

So, I tried to connect my Phone to my Laptop via USB cable, but still some of my photos and videos (with the same amount) are not showing up in my PC File Explorer. The picture and video Files that do not appear, are years older than the current phone I own.(I bought this Phone after 2020 but the photos and videos are from before 2020) If possible, a clear-cut explanation in simple English would be helpful.

I would not like to spend my day opening each and every chat for years and scrolling, praying to stumble upon that particular image. I think in the case of an image originated from Skype, there is a menu item in Gallery like "See image in chat", which opens the chat in question in one click, but not for WhatsApp?

no matter what is stored on the Android operating system as long as there is no root rights needed to view this photo / video file stores in my case Amazon photos. All photos & videos of the file system in your app or the pictures are released. But I do not want my photos and videos I automatically enter the gallery in another place like downloads / documents. Unfortunately, I always have to go manually in the Amazon Photos app and hide the pictures that do not come from the camera which time unnecessarily wasted. ---------- EDIT: After the hint of the community bot in the comments, I'll try to make the question simpler. No matter where I save photos and videos on my device, for example in the music folder or in the documents folder, they end up in my photo gallery. But I don't want them to get into my gallery because the pictures are in the documents folder and not in the camera folder. What exactly can i do now?

When I edit a video I took, specifically trimmed it, I can edit it back to its original length. This can be done weeks after the edit. How does the app achieve this - is the original video stored somewhere forever? This would namely explain why my storage was bloated with more than 75Gb of "System storage". As a musician, I take long videos which I edit in short snippets, and have no interest in this reverse edit functionality most of the time.

I've been experiencing this issue for a month or so. I was using the camera and I received a message of some memory error, but was able to continue taking pictures. Then I realized that the pictures were not showing up in the gallery. I connected the device to my PC and the files are actually there. In addition, I am able to continue taking pictures and access the files when using the camera (I touch the recent photos icon and I can see them). I have tried many things, such as removing the DCIM folder, erasing the .nomedia files, and erasing data from the internal memory, and none of them seemed to work. Could anyone help me?

I am running Android 12 on a Galaxy A12 phone. Recently, out of the blue, image files that I transfer to my phone from my computer have been having the following problem: At first, right after I transfer them, they are OK. I can view them in Gallery. When I'm done, I'll close that app. Later, I'll need to view them again, so I'll go back into gallery, but they will be corrupted. Gallery will just tell me "Unsupported Media" or some such nonsense and refuse to display them. I can transfer them over from the computer again, replacing the corrupted files, and they will work again for my first session of viewing them... and then they won't. This never used to be a problem. I am saving them to my external SD card. I have not tried saving them on the phone's internal storage, but that would not be feasible. My internal storage is tight, and I need to conserve it. The images happen to be PNG format images. That is what I use most commonly. I avoid JPEG due to it being a lossy format. But I CAN verify that this problem happens to GIFs as well. I have tried using Gimp on my computer to open and resave the original images in the hopes that there was just something odd about the files, and Gimp would save them "properly". That actually worked for a few of them for a while, so I thought that that was the problem, but then even that stopped fixing them. Even my gimp-saved images started doing this. I have tried installing and using several other gallery apps in the hopes that the default one was just stupid, but no luck. Nothing can view them once they spontaneously corrupt like this. I don't even know what causes them to go corrupt. Sometimes they will work for a few viewing sessions, quitting and restarting the Gallery and coming back to view them later a few times. Sometimes they will go bad after the first session. I can never predict when they will die. Even more confusing, sometimes the thumbnail will become corrupt along with the image, causing the Gallery to display a blank icon both when listing images and viewing individual ones, and sometimes only the full image will get corrupted, so that I can see the thumbnail in lists, but not the full-screen image when I try to view it. It is completely unpredictable which images will do which. I am at a complete loss here. Has anyone ever encountered this and/or does anyone know what is happening? EDIT: I should also mention that any images saved before this started happening don't get corrupted. This only happens to images newly transferred after the problem started.

By default, a medium amount of depth-of-field is used. If I transfer that JPG to my computer, the background is slightly blurred. When I open the picture in the phones Gallery app, it allows me to adjust depth-of-field and make the background more crisp. That must mean the phone stores the original image data somewhere. Otherwise, it wouldn't be able to un-blur the JPG file. Where is that original image data stored?
