no matter what is stored on the Android operating system as long as there is no root rights needed to view this photo / video file stores in my case Amazon photos. All photos & videos of the file system in your app or the pictures are released. But I do not want my photos and videos I automatically enter the gallery in another place like downloads / documents. Unfortunately, I always have to go manually in the Amazon Photos app and hide the pictures that do not come from the camera which time unnecessarily wasted. ---------- EDIT: After the hint of the community bot in the comments, I'll try to make the question simpler. No matter where I save photos and videos on my device, for example in the music folder or in the documents folder, they end up in my photo gallery. But I don't want them to get into my gallery because the pictures are in the documents folder and not in the camera folder. What exactly can i do now?

I am thinking of getting an Amazon Fire tablet HD 8. However, I have heard that Amazon restricts the apps that can be installed on it. Is this the case? Or is it just the Google Play store is not available? Because, I've also read that because it's Android-based, it is possible to install Google Play Store. Can APKs be downloaded/installed from other sources? Specifically, I need to know if particular apps are available on it (FlipAClip, Soundtrap) as not having these would be a deal breaker.

I have purchased a Kindle Fire HD 2. Generation (2012) and wanted to root it. I followed the instructions from [Rooting a new Kindle Fire HD](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/49248/rooting-a-new-kindle-fire-hd-july-13) and and other instructions found via google. When I run the Bin4ry version, the pad is really slow afterwards for some reason. I found [this](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/36448/kindle-fire-hd-7-runs-very-slowly-after-rooting) thread here, but it's not really helpfull. I also tried the Qemu version, but this also doesn't work. The only thing this resolves is that it runs at normal speed after it's done, but the device is not rooted. So are there any tips on how to do this? I would like to get Google Playstore running, instead of being chained to Amazon. All information I find with google leads me back to the same solutions which don't work.

Amazon Fire has no Google Play Store, but [an article on How-To Geek](https://www.howtogeek.com/232726/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-your-amazon-fire-tablet/) took care of it. Another problem is that I have some application that is not compatible with the tablet. At first, I thought that's because Amazon tablet doesn't have location. It has location. I can just enable it. The reason is because Amazon tablet doesn't have SIM slots. Now that's tricky. However, APKPure solves that problem. When I need to verify my SMS by inserting a one-time code, I just proceed as usual. Usually, there is an error message saying > {THIS_APP} is having problem with Google Play Service However, for most apps, it doesn't matter. SMS got sent anyway. I just receive it from another phone and insert the OTP (One-Time Password). Voila. Everything is set. For WhatsApp, I never get SMS. It's as if WhatsApp realizing there is an error doesn't do even bother sending SMS. I wonder why. Other apps see an error and send SMS any way that I can verify. Not WhatsApp. Anyone has a way to bypass this?

I turned on my Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet the other day, and some (but not all) of the bottom navigation bar buttons had disappeared. I rebooted, hoping that would clear up whatever caused it, but now *all* of my navigation bar buttons are gone. My notification bar is gone too, and I am unable to swipe down to activate the notification shade. There is empty black space where the notification and navigation bars are supposed to be. If it matters, I have the Google Play Services and the Google Play Store side-loaded, through which I installed typical Google apps. (I'm asking and answering this myself mostly so that if/when this problem recurs, I'll be able to remember/find how I fixed it.)

I have developed an Android app in Android Studio (4.1.2) specifically for my two nieces. My brother in law has his account (admin account) and the account of the two girls (managed through parent control) in an **Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet**. I have managed to enable the development options in the account of my brother in law, I have successfully installed the app in the account of my brother in law but now I am stucked at the point on how to transfer the app to the accounts of both of my nieces. I am aware of this [question](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/103774/how-can-i-transfer-apps-from-one-profile-to-another-on-my-tablet) , but in this particular case I am not able to see my developed app in the apps than could be transfered to the chosen child's account. **How can I transfer my developed app to the children accounts in the Fire HD 8 Tablet? Is this even possible or does Amazon only allow for certain apps?** Any help is highly appreciated and probably valued with a lot a fun time by the girls :D

Can I get Fire OS 6 running on a Fire HD 10(7th gen)?
Android Studio claims Fire OS 5.3.6.4 is Android 5.1.1 API 22. I would really like to be using Nougat (which apparently Fire OS 6 is). Shouldn't I have the latest Fire OS on my tablet? Is there a way to do that? If not, I'll have to try rooting it. I hate these OEM blonked Android OS flavours!

This morning I opened the xfi app, and found that this trend is continuing with 7 hours of network activity by noon, however, her tablet "freetime" doesn't allow her to use the tablet till four in the afternoon! What I am wondering is, what is the best way to scan/monitor/check for, foul play or a malfunctioning app? If Xfinity is to be believed, this "glitch" has used over 400 GB of network data in 10 days! (I am a power-user and am ready to use-and-abuse all my developer rights to figure this out)

However, it still doesn't show up in the FreeTime profile. How can I enable this game in the FreeTime profile?

I recently rooted my Kindle Fire HD and it now runs very slowly. It was mentioned in the rooting instructions I was following that this would happen during the rooting process. I am wondering if this is a permanent consequence of rooting or if it is fixable. If it is something I can fix could you tell me how. Thanks for the help! Here are the steps I followed: 1. Download [Root MANY ANDROID!](http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460) to your desktop. Extract to your desktop. This package includes updated adb daemons. 1. Download [Qemu automated root](http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893838) to your desktop. Extract to your desktop. This package includes updated adb daemons. > NOTE WINDOWS 7 USERS: You need to open a command prompt "as Administrator" when running the above utility batch files RunMe.bat and RootQemu.bat - otherwise Windows will respond with "Permission Denied". 1. Root Step 1: Run RunMe.bat from *Root MANY ANDROID!*. Choose option 1 Run Normal Method and ignore errors. Pay attention, you will need to answer "Restore" a dialogue box on the Kindle. Click on Restore. When the program has completed, the Kindle will Reboot. 1. Root Step 2: When the Kindle reboots it will react VERY slowly, this is normal - leave it alone. Immediatly proceed to Step 3. 1. Root Step 3: Run RootQemu.bat from *Qemu automated root*. Follow the instructions Step-by-Step allowing Windows to re-detect the Kindle between reboots (about 2 minutes). Let this utility complete to the end. 1. Root Step 4: Click on Superuser.apk under the Apps tab.
