How to prevent navigation bar from being hidden, globally?
I know I can set some apps to not hide the navigation bar. But I would like to globally set that it should be shown **by default**. My Android is not rooted. Basically I want the old behaviour back in Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) where it was not removable unless you root the device. However, I don't mind being able to allow it to hide the navigation bar on a per application basis.

I am fond of using gestures instead of navigation buttons, because it gives me 100% of the screen for content. I have it turned on on my phone and until now had as well on my tablet. After the latest update, my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 returned to showing regular navigation buttons. I have turned them off, but there is a horizontal bar on the bottom of the screen, which I failed to turn off. Is there some hidden setting, which allows disabling it? **Edit:** Thedrag navigation seems to be really problematic after the update - I barely can open application switcher. This is really a bad experience :( Bottom bar Missing settings

I have created a software for restaurants. Some restaurants have tablets on each table so that their customer can order food/drink without a waiter. I have finished coding my software, and now I have another task: Each tablet (for example, Galaxy A7 Tab Lite), must run my local app on chrome (for example, http://192.168.1.100:3000) Problem is: Chrome showing the tabs, the bottom navigation bar and user can access the settings through the notifications bar, enable/disable wifi, etc, such as in these images: enter image description here enter image description here enter image description here As the tablet's use will be for the user to only access my webpage (so he can order food/drinks), the web page should be: 1. full screen, so that the tabs view do not appear 2. navigation bar and notifications bar should be locked/disabled I've tried THIS tutorial for fullscreen. I tried adding my website to the Home screen, but when I clicked, it would just open as a regular tab, no fullscreen mode. The reason for that is (as funny as it may sound) that in some restaurants, some kids were able to exit the application and were downloading games to the tablet, were watching Netflix, were adding their photo as the Android's background image, etc. The user has to interact only with my web app. So, is there a way to achieve this? Maybe some Android settings, chrome tweaking, third party apps, custom ROM?

"Show Mode" is unchecked, which removes the red line, but it comes back when opening any site. At the moment, she has to reboot the tablet every time she wants to change a screen. Other than a total refresh to factory specs, are there any suggestions?

I apologize if this is a dumb question. I don't actually own an Android phone, just asking for a family member. The navigation bar in a Samsung A50 disappears when the phone is inside a wallet-type case. The only way I found to make it reappear, is by removing the phone from the case. It seems there is a magnet that triggers the navigation bar to be hidden. The owner of the phone told me that this started happening when she updated the OS. I don't have version information at this moment, but will add the info as soon as I get it from the phone owner. Thank you!

Those buttons were centered and easy to access With the latest update it is no longer true -- the central part of this bottom pane now took app toolbar (with important and recent apps). The navigational buttons are now pushed to the right and they are not as easy to access as before. How do I get rid of this new app toolbar? *Current system info states: Android 12, One UI 4.1.1.*

I had something like - double triangle -> bring down the panel with notification, - double circle -> lock screen - double square -> I had it set to something I rarely used and so I don't remember, but it was settable - hold triangle -> some thing swiping right on the first page of the home - hold circle -> google assistant - hold square -> split screen All these things but the last 2 have disappeared with last update. I think before this update I was Android 11. How can I enable those things again? I haven't found anything in the settings.

I'm trying to switch between
and
navigation using
overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural
and
overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.threebutton
or via
-->gestures-->system navigation
and then selecting
navigation
and
-button navigation
. I checked the changes using -
overlay list --user current
and I was able to see the exact changes made. But when i reboot my android device, it just reverts back to the previous selected navigation; rarely (after 5-6 tries) the changes made remain after reboot. Example: If my present selection is threebutton and I change it to gestural, then after reboot it goes back to threebutton or sometimes (after 5-6 tries and reboots), it stays as gestural. How do i keep the changes permanent even after reboot??

With full screen I mean only show the web page itself with **no address bar**, **no status / notification bar** and **no navigation / buttons bar**. So completely full screen. Just like with full screen videos or games. Is there a way to do this? I don't care about which browser though I prefer Chrome. As long as it's able to run JS and to stay logged in and such. It is a Pocophone F1 running Android 10 if that helps. It's not rooted, but I'm willing to do that if necessary. Thanks in advance!

This is a screenshot of my phone: Image The app in the screenshot has changed the foreground color of the navigation bar from what I set it to (white) to black, making it nearly invisible. It also added a booby-trap button on the left. Pressing and holding it makes the navigation bar disappear, and then it's tricky to get it back. I want to prevent apps from doing this. I don't want apps to be able to [change the navigation bar background color](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27839105/android-lollipop-change-navigation-bar-color) , [change the navigation bar foreground color](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56975703/how-to-change-navigation-bar-button-color) , remove the navigation bar, or add the booby-trap button. Apparently, it used to be possible to get control of the navigation bar back by installing an app called "Xposed". But now the only app with that name on Google Play is a social media app, and there's an "Xposed detector" that seems to be designed to detect the original app. I also hear that it used to be possible to deny an app permission to go to "full screen" mode, which would deny apps one way of removing the navigation bar. But there seems to be no such permission now, and there's [another way](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9773006/how-do-you-remove-the-navigation-bar-on-android) to remove it. Is there any way left to stop app developers from making my phone unusable?

OK! This might sound silly, but it's a big problem for me. I have an IBall ITab Moviez Pro tablet running Android 9. Since it's Android 9, it should have an option to enable two button navigation. But this model doesn't. When I go to **System > Gestures**, there's no option for two button navigation. I did a quick search and found this adb command to enable it:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.twobutton
This doesn't seem to work at all. When I run this command :
adb shell cmd overlay list
to get the list of available overlays, it shows the following:
C:\Users\Basudev\Desktop> adb shell cmd overlay list
android
[ ] com.android.internal.display.cutout.emulation.corner
[ ] com.android.internal.display.cutout.emulation.double
[ ] com.android.internal.display.cutout.emulation.tall

com.android.systemui
[x] com.android.systemui.theme.dark
From the above output, it seems like
.android.internal.systemui.navbar.twobutton
is missing from this tablet. Is there any workaround for this? Tablet specification: 1. Model : IBall ITab Moviez Pro (IBall IT-KSA0012) 2. Chipset : Unisoc SpreadTrum SC9863A 3. Released with android 9. Currently running the same OS 4. Bootloader is unlocked 5. Device is unrooted 6. No custom recovery installed Edit: It does show a
bar
option in setting: Image If I get inside it, it just shows the options to tweak the regular there button navigation bar: Image Here a screenshot of **System > Gestures** page: Image
