I've been spending a lot of sleepless nights trying to fix this. I know there are a lot of threads like this on the internet, but I want to go a bit deeper. I have an HTC Wildfire S with only 512 MB internal flash memory. This internal memory has a partition layout allocation around 130 MB for the /data partition and around 290 MB for the /system partition. Both of them are full. (In addition I got a 16 GB SD-card.) Installing apps, upgrading apps, running most of the apps - impossible. Now, I knew it's possible to move apps to SD-card, the so called **apps2sd** procedure which offers very limited functionality to move *some* of the application data to the SD-card. Anyways after moving every possible data to SD the internal memory was still full and the phone unusable. I was reading about more sustainable methods like **data2sd**. I gave it a try. I used the instructions from htcdev.com to unlock the bootloader , I installed the latest ClockWorkMod Recovery and rooted the device permanently. Finally, I used the rooted device to install Android 4.1.2 AOKP Jelly Bean Custom ROM and Data2SD like discribed in the linked articles. But I was stuck the device was not booting until I removed Data2SD. The AOKP-ROM was working pretty well and stable, but installing Data2SD simply did not work in combination with Jelly Bean (SD-card formatting: 11 GB FAT23, 4GB ext4 and 256 MB Swap). Now, I tried to go for the **link2sd** approach. I reformatted my SD-card (14 GB FAT32 and 2GB ext4) and installed Link2SD on my phone as described here . I was able to move additional data and apps to my SD-card and could link some apps to the card. And now after some days playing around with all that usefull tipps from the internet, for example this thread: https://android.stackexchange.com/q/2065/29916 - **I am at the point where I started**. This is my result: Internal memory is still full and the phone is still unusable. (I would love to post a screenshot, but taking screenshots simply does not work currently.) Link2SD and still no space on internal memory! How to finally fix my internal memory on the Wildfire S? Why is Data2SD not working with the Jelly Bean ROM and why is Link2SD so ineffective? Is there anything I'm doing wrong? The main problem seems to be the Dalvik Cache on the /data partition (around 100 MB). Is there any way to completly use the SD card to somehow get partitions mounted at /data and /system?

I only use Link2SD to link my game files to external storage, a straightforward and short process, then I'm able to play these games with their data sitting on my SD card Everything went to shit after I flashed my phone and upgraded to Android 12, Link2SD links my game data to my SD card, the only problem is when I launch the games, the games don't recognize the link and they create a new data folder in /mnt/runtime/write/emulated/0/Android/data. I downgraded to Android 11 but a slightly newer ROM than what I started with, same issues and it's very frustrating, I only have 64gb internal storage and I've managed to play Genshin Impact and Honkai Star rail until this whole fiasco. I've tried in-built adoptable storage, and adoptable storage with apps2sd, but nothing. Now I'm looking at downgrading to Android 10 and trying Fbind but I've been reading some stuff online and I'm wondering if this all stems from my SD card not using a Linux Filesystem, Please correct me because I really don't know what I'm doing Any tips will be appreciated, thanks.

I use Link2SD Plus mostly to link app data from my internal storage to my external memory, I don't do anything fancy like creating a second partition to link obb, I simply link the game DATA FOLDER (where applicable) to my SD card on the first partition. Now here's the issue, I recently flashed my device clean and upgraded from Android 11 to 12, I usually play my big games with the game files linked to my sd, I downloaded and installed the game files on my internal storage, I linked the data folder to my SD card, I launch the game and everything should be up and running but instead, it starts downloading the game's data all over again. Normally, this never happens unless I forget to bind the data folders stored on my SD card. I tried linking the base game and then installing the data, but that didn't work, I'm at a loss for what to do. I tried downgrading to Android 11 but Link2sd just isn't working the way it used to. Is there another/better way to achieve the same goal? I'm looking at Fbind but I have no idea how to use it, I'd appreciate a simple cmd line I can run Redmi Note 9 Pro (joyeuse) rooted with magisk

I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro SM-J730GM purchased at a Sanborns shop in Mexico, running Telcel's stock ROM, rooted, with TWRP recovery and Link2SD. A couple weeks ago I repartitioned my SD card in order to use Link2SD's app linking function. I remember having to reboot my phone a couple times before it picked up the card, but at the moment I thought it had finally worked. However, apparently it was just a fluke, because today I restarted my phone in order to flash TWRP, and when I started my phone back it didn't detect the card anymore. The card is fine, as it can be read with no problems on a PC running Linux. The card reader is fine too, as the card is legible from TWRP and can be formatted without a hitch from Android. With that in mind, I tried formatting the card using my device's Set Up function, then I repartitioned it with my computer. When I inserted the repartitioned card, that's where my phone began refusing to mount it. Has anyone had any luck mounting a partitioned SD card on this model? Am I going to have to flash an aftermarket ROM into my phone? (PS: I'm going to try to reproduce it with a different card)

**Question:- Storage manager (SM) Partitioned Micro sd card but how to mount the extended partition and use it as internal storage.?** I purchased 6 months before, Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe with android 12 with 128 GB internal memory and a 128 GB external Micro SD card. I am an IT freelancer professional, so I have a job is for testing daily 1000's of different android apps some I have keep installed to create logged reports either monthly weekly or quarterly and my other work is to do some short video advertisements or photo editing and some other GPS technical official apps to do my job in an instant go while traveling. I want to set default installation of apps location to micro sd card, i tried but it only moves the main APK files, leaving ODBB file like data, cache, lib, and dex in internal memory thus occupying space in internal memory. I want to keep my internal memory free for output files of video editing to fast rendering of photo editing or video editing file on mobile. I have tried Adoptable storage ( formatting external micro sd card as internal) without rooting once in my android 6.0 Marshemellow and thought it may work in android 12.0. i tried following commands in following sequence adb devices adb shell r8q:/ $ sm list-disks adoptable Disk: 179,0 (output of list-disk adoptable command) r8q:/ $ sm has-adoptable false r8q:/ $ sm partition disk:179:0 mixed 40 r8q:/ $ sm set-force-adoptable true r8q:/ $ sm list-volumes all private mounted null public:179,1 mounted 5C8A-85AC private:179,3 unmountable emulated;0 mounted null r8q:/ $sm format private:179,3 r8q:/ $sm mount private:179,3 r8q:/ $ sm has-adoptable false r8q:/ $ sm list-volumes all private mounted null public:179,1 mounted 5C8A-85AC private:179,3 unmountable emulated;0 mounted null r8q:/ $ ls -al /dev/block/platform/soc/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 80 2022-11-07 13:12 . drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 60 2019-02-11 06:25 .. drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 1680 2019-02-11 06:25 1d84000.ufshc drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 140 2022-11-07 13:12 8804000.sdhci r8q:/ $ ls -al /dev/block/platform/soc/8804000.sdhci total 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 140 2022-11-07 13:12 . drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 80 2022-11-07 13:12 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 100 2022-11-07 13:12 by-name lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0p1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0p2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0p3 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 r8q:/ $ ls -al /dev/block/platform/soc/8804000.sdhci/by-name/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 100 2022-11-07 13:12 . drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 140 2022-11-07 13:12 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 android_expand -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 android_meta -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 shared -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 Result is fine with no errors, it partitioned the micro sd card and converted formatted and mounted my 128GB card to 2 parts ie.as in mobile phone settings>storage in android 12.0 its showing 47.63GB card after commands it means its mounted and the micro external card is parted 47.63 portable is showing. but second partition is not showing in android and the files apps moved is still saving in 47.63 gb public:179,1 mounted 5C8A-85AC not the other one which is private:179,3 unmountable and not being used and remaining 80.37 GB is unallocated and not usable screenshot of storage I rebooted my android phone twice still. But internal its still showing 100GB remaining and its not added and why the remaining space partition of 80.37GB is its not showing in android device how to mount or show in GUI of android and how to now 80.37GB partition as adoptable storage or format remaining 80.37GB as internal memory and extend my internal memory storage and how to use the partition in micro sd card and remaining i tried $sm mount private:179,3 to to mount 179,3 private sd card second parition but still its hidden and showing invisible on command ls -al /dev/block/platform/soc/8804000.sdhci/by-name/ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0p1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0p2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2022-11-07 13:12 mmcblk0p3 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 it showed 3 partitions of micro sd card ie /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 & p2 & p3 but how can we mount the undisplayed parition by mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 /data/sdext2 will it write in init.c so that its gets every time i reboot restart the android phone. by which command i can show the micro sd card hidden partition so that it can be displayed in settings-storage and wordk as adoptable internal storage Thanks for giving time and reading my question and i will be obliged to get experts advice solution for my problem . Thanks a lot in advance for your precisous time advice and knowledge sharing and help.

I purchased 6 months before, Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe with android 12 with 128 GB internal memory and a 256 GB external Micro SD card. I am an IT freelancer professional, so I have a job is for testing 1000's of different apps, and my main work is to install some video photo editing and some technical official apps to do my job in an instant go while traveling. In Android 12.0 of Samsung Galaxy S20 Fe There is an option of CHANGE option in Settings > App> Storage to change (move) location of app from internal to SD card in Android. Screenshot of change moving location But its the same like as in Android 5.0, it only moves the main APK files, leaving data, cache, lib, and dex in internal memory thus occupying space in internal memory. I want to keep my internal memory free for output files of video editing to fast rendering of photo editing or video editing file on mobile. MY QUERIES:- 1. Is there any option without rooting to move the complete apps (lib, dex, data, and cache) to an external micro SD card? apk files 2. There was an option in Android 6.0 Marshmallow for adaptable storage to format an external SD card as internal memory and move complete application files. Can I do that in Android 12.0? Screenshot format as internal 3. there any developer option in Android 12.0 to force or make default installation of apps in the external memory card so that all apps are installed automatically with apk, lib, dex, data file in the external memory card but it works with only 5 to 10 apps out of 100 it still leave some part in internal memory? Screenshot Force install to sd 4. In Android 6.0, I tried to edit the app manifest through the APK editor to change the default install location of an app to external memory. Will it work in Android 12.0? But it's time-consuming to edit every application. Apk editor app manifest 5. Can we root Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and use the Link2SD app or any script in boot.int or any other new application in Android 12.0 which with its script links all lib, dex files in a micro SD card? link2sd internal data 6. Is there any other way or method or settings options in developer options or any other 3rd part application in Android 12.0 Samsung Galaxy S20 FE so that I can move (dex lib apk data) or install complete application directly to external micro SD card and keep my internal memory free for working or output files rendering ? The reason why I still want to move apps to sd Card while having internal memory of 128GB is for testing 1000's apps and editing and rendering short video and photo editing . I know External micro sd card is slower than internal memory but the app I install for TESTING on external memory will be rarely used may 2 or 3 times a year but for testing and reporting to companies i need to keep it installed in mobile for year to give usage or some log reports and its useless to give them space in internal memory and make them full my internal memory i cant uninstall or re-install them .

**Question : How to create Mount script or Link2sd symbolic link in adoptable storage (format microsdcard as internal memory) any help** I have an old mobile with upgrade of Android 6.0.1 marshemellow with 16gb internal memory(11gb reserved for system and only 5 GB free space for user apps and files). I want to make 128gb or 64 GB microsdcard as internal memory. I had changed many apps manifest through apkeditor and changed their default install location. To external still some files are moved and many apps cAnt change the manifest. So to add at least 60gb I decided to move apps and folder redirect dcim download whatsapp Facebook to external micro SD card so that at least 2gb space is always free in internal memory. Now the question and problem is that can I cheat or mislead the Android 6.0.1 marshmallow (without root or with root) through 1. using apps like link2sd or app2sd or folder redirection appps or 2. through SM PM command > adb shell sm list-disks adoptable sm partition disk:179:160 mixed 25 > adb shell sm format private:179,3 3. through creating own symbolic link boot.init script to decieve Android 6.0.1 is and move or link apk files like data lib hex off apk to.memory card 4. Can both adoptable storage (format as sd as internal and the link2sd symbolic link mount scripts) work together as after formatting as card as internal Android assumes no external card and the how will be it work from redirecting or symbolic link to internal folder. I tried Inc it gave "Mount script error" Any way or script if I can write or tell it will be great help for my problem.

How to change SD Card after moving apps using Link2SD?

I was using Link2SD and linked some of my apps to an SD card including internal data. Recently, the second partition somehow got corrupted. I deleted the partition and reformated it. Now I can't install any of the apps previously linked. It shows insufficient space error, but there is plenty of space in internal memory, SD card, as well as SD card's 2nd partition, and I can install any other apps. I tried the clean-up option in Link2SD. It cleaned up the Dalvik cache of old linked apps, but it didn't work. What to do now?

When I connected it to mobile it doesn't show any partition and asked.for.formatting in portable or internal when I said to format as internal it formatted and deleted all partitions. I have Sony Xperia M2 (D2303), and i have had Link2sd for quite some time. A while back I created a partition in Minitool and mounted it as ext4 in Link2sd. Sometimes it crashed, but usually waiting or restarting would help, because all it needed was to link lib, obb and dex files. However couple days ago i set up Sleep as Android, and before i woke up a family member took the phone for a while (Facebook, Candycrush - which heat up the phone a lot). So when i woke up and tried to shut down the alarm i couldn't, Sleep app kept crashing. After that I rebooted the phone, only to find out i have 10 installed apps showing, apps showing crash messages, even if i didn't have them in the background. On top of all there is an alarm icon below the clock which i can't turn off because Sleep app is not showing in app drawer. After 2 days I figured i might flash SuperSu again from twrp, because it wouldn't update binaries. Tried turning Link2sd into a system app to mount ext4, it only shows some grey screen for a second, nothing changes. In settings there is Sdcard present with similar space i had before(1 GB more space- probably just app data wiped) In Link2sd there is Sdcard, as well as the second partition which is showing as unmounted In DiskInfo app i see partition by its name and allocated size(mmcblk1p2) I see Sdcard in computer when plugging in usb. However, I don't see it in Minitool, Disk Management or when running cmd - "diskpart" - "list disk" commands SDHC card is Kingston 32 GB class 10. Total commander app allows exploring Sdcard which is not appearing in Minitool. Not only is partition missing but Sd card as well. Thank you.

Partition MicroSD card to exFat and Ext 4 for link2sd?

I've been poking around using GParted on my 128GB microSD card so it can use two partitions for link2sd. Problem is, no matter what I do, each time I place the card in my phone, it says that the card is corrupted. I had been using the card just as storage (it was formatted by Android itself). Technical details: Phone: Samsung Galaxy Express 3 (SM-J120A)(sometimes called Samsung Galaxy J1) Version: 6.0 Marshmellow SD Card: Samsung EVO Select 128GB Root status: Rooted When I look at the partition after the phone formats it, it is an exFat partition with the Flags "boot" and "lba". Reformatting it myself to exFat with no Flags causes it to give an error in the phone "This card won't work". If I try to give it flags, only the "boot" flag is applied. Anytime I press the "lba" flag option, it won't even check the box (its not greyed out). Other flags work fine. Even if I use the command-line (Parted) it still won't apply the lba flag. To confirm that the card isn't broken, I have stuck it back into the phone for it to format. Works perfectly. I've even formatted the entire card to Fat32. Stuck it in the phone, no problems. Fat32 and ext4 partition combo does work. Other than that, it simply will not accept a exFat/ext4 combo. Or even exFat alone. What I really want is to have 32 GB as an ext4 partition, and the rest being exFat. I don't want to be limited by Fat32's 4GB file size. Though aside from video, I'm not sure what large files I might have (emergency storage?). Recommendations, advice, and solution(s) would be most appreciated.

Use a disk image for Link2SD's 2nd partition

Well, this question is targeted for those few devices without support for an external SD card as well as merged storage, for example my Micromax Canvas Knight A350. I thought this up today: If we take a QEMU disk image file (.img), set it to static with a size for, say, 4GB and format it to ext2 and copy it over to the Android device's internal SD card, can we mount it as /mnt/sdcard2 or something similar as a loop device (it appears that loop device mounting is possible on stock Android 4.0.4 and up, at least for some Samsung devices)? Secondly, will this work with Link2SD? Context: My device, as mentioned above, has a 2GB /data partition which is fast running out. I thought this up as a last-ditch effort to extend its lifespan (because it has 25GB /sdcard0 partition`, and I don't use more than 12GB of it), and would like to get the theory of this validated or refuted before I go about trying this on my device. **NOTE:** Any alternative suggestions, such as FolderMount (kindly suggested by @Izzy in chat ), are also welcome if these are accompanied with **proper usage instructions** for this specific case, that is, link folders from /data to internal SD. Side Note: Not currently considering FolderMount as it's advertised for internal SD to external SD linking, not /data to internal SD linking.

I am using an Xperia X10 mini pro (Android 2.1-update1). I rooted the phone and partitioned the 8GB SD Card into two parts. 1. ext3 2. FAT32. I installed Link2SD to move the apps to SD Card. This has been very useful as this application has an option to move the installed/updated apps to SD Card automatically. But recently it happened to remove my SD Card from phone and inserted another 2GB SD Card for some other purpose. I started the phone and the apps that are showing on phone aren't working as I installed them on my SD card. So I put my 8 GB Micro SD card back to phone. Now the problem arose. I was not able to access the apps installed on SD Card. I had to reinstall all the apps that are there in my phone. Is it how it behaves ? Don't I remove my SD card from phone ? I did a little amount of Experimenting on this and found that its happening only on inserting another SD Card. My mobile is searching for the apps on the newly inserted SD Card. As there are no apps found it might be deleting the links on phone memory. This is my guess only. Still the question stays "How to overcome this kind of scenario ?"

Card and not second sd card for ext2 As I want to install 2nd sd card and from recovery or adb pull take NANDROID image backup Of second partition backup in cloud and want to see pace and access file system so that I can recover if any thing goes wrong or memory card got corrupted My queries:- 1. How can I view second partition of external micro sd card partiton through file manager or in setting> storage 2. Can I be mounted In boot.init through any aap 3. How to **unlock view or see the same option "move to sd"** in another model lyf water 7 of android 5.1.1 by modifying the settings through any adb shell fastboot or terminal with or without rooting the mobile. 2. I tried app manager III or app2sd or link2sd apps on unrooted and rooted mobile to do the same but all fails to move the apps. All apps when move to sd option clicked they open take me open same dialogue box window to original settings>app>appinfo option to move apps ( as shown in screenshot above) and there no option of move app to sd **Link2sd when app moved to move to sd it gave following error and link to sd is grayed out and disabled and not working (even on rooted phone)** Failure pkg: /data/app/ com.gmail.heagoo.sdcardmovable-1/ base.apk Failure [INSTALL FAILED INVALID_INSTALL LOC ATION] link2sd move to sd card error screenshot Storage screenshot of link2sd of lyf water 7 Image 3. I know all apps are not movable as their app mainfest don't allow I had tried to edit **apk editor default prefered install location to external** still same app without editing the app is moving to sd card in one mobile and no option of moving not showing option in another mobile with same android 5.1.1 same app same kernal version same.company but different models it means there is some setting lock or change how can we modify or unlock that option . 4. Any **more setting I can alter to get the result of moving apps to sd card on my lyf water 7 ls 5504.** Any adb shell command. I don't know if its locked in rom or hardware incompatibility then will 3rd party custom rom available in xda may be android 6.03 or android 7.1.1 or android 8,9,10 will allow or have such option and work in the same mobile or not 5. If there is any hardware or rom uncompatibilty or lock by manufacturer or vendor I am worried if I install custom rom of android 6.0.3 marshemellow or android 7.1.1 then will they have such option or not to move app to sd or to format as as internal in both custom rom ![link2sd lyf water 7 storage info ](https://i.sstatic.net/d6R2Y.png)
