two years and I have been getting the error "Kernel Panic Upload Mode" twice, almost every year, and when I update the software using ODIN it disappears completely. But now it keeps appearing once a day.
I tried everything here to no avail:
* update the software
* hard format
* delete cache
* unplug the battery jack for 10 seconds

I am looking for a way to prevent the screensaver from locking the device. Currently I have set the "Sleep" (screensaver) to 15 seconds wich means that the screen fades after about 15 seconds and locks then. I still want to keep the fade behavior but I dont want that the device gets locked after that time. I just want it to stay in the faded state and "wakes up" again after I tap the screen.
I am currently using a rootet Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 3G 10.1 with Android 8.1.0 installed.

I am in the middle of trying to install Cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 according to Wiki instructions and I'm getting stuck when I try to go into recovery mode. I tried to flash it to koush's ClockworkMod Recovery (recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.3-p5110)
I've tried using Power + Vol Up and by using
adb reboot recovery
in the terminal on my PC. It seems to start into recovery mode with a message in blue stating it's entering recovery mode, however, it just goes black and I can't progress passed this point.
I can still boot into the stock and into Download Mode fine.
It's possible there was a problem installing the custom recovery as I never saw a progress bar as described in the wiki. Instead, it seems to stay at the "Don't power off target device" screen, despite the message in my terminal stating that it was finished. If the custom recovery was botched, how can I remedy it?
What can I check to narrow down the problem?
I'm running off a PC using Linux Mint in case that helps.

I have just picked up my Samsung Tab S2 Keyboard a couple of days ago. The tablet is amazing, but the thing is I need to type Romanian text with specific accented characters (ie ș, ă, î, ț). This is a must-have feature. Without this, I'll probably try to return the tablet.
It never crossed my mind that Android would not have Romanian Language on the physical keyboard! The virtual keyboard has it, but what I'm particularly interested in is having the physical keyboard configured with the Romanian layout. To clarify, I don't want a keyboard with Romanian characters painted on it, only the software layout to be Romanian. That is when pressing such keys [ ] ; ' they should produce such characters ă î ș ț.
Under System -> Language & Input -> Physical Keyboard, selecting the keyboard and then "Set up keyboard layouts", Romanian is absent:
So, can I set this up?

I already tried factory resetting it and clearing the cash, but it hasn't helped. I am trying to flash an new OS using ODIN, but since I haven't been able to turn USB tethering on, I can't connect the tablet to my computer. Is there any way I can turn USB tethering on through the recovery mode, maybe through the ADB? Just to be clear, I can not access the settings before the tablet reboots itself, and I never turned on developer tools.

I'm looking to see if maybe Jelly Bean runs better, but so far I've had no luck with it. The Samsung downgraded firmware just puts it into a boot loop and I cannot find a compatible SlimRom, Lineage OS, or Cyanogenmod. Does anyone know if one exists?

I have followed the instructions to set up a virtual wifi hotspot on my Windows 10 machine (connected via ethernet to router) from LifeHacker. I have connected my iphone and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (P5110 running Android 4.2.2) to the new wifi hotspot. My iphone can access the internet fine, however my tablet cannot.
I have tried to use the default browser and chrome on my tablet and both say the web page is not available (chrome shows the dino and DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET message).
Why is my tablet not connecting to the internet and how do I fix it?
[Edit]
A co-worker has connected his Windows 10 pc and HTC One (running 5.0) to my hotspot and both are fine on the internet.
[Edit]
After restarting the router the tablet can access the internet via the pc. Did restarting the router fix the issue or is that just a coincidence? Why could other devices connect to my pc except for my tablet?

I have an unrooted Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P5113) running Android 4.2.2
I want to upgrade the Android version there, however, I have no idea how.
Right now the tablet claims it is up-to-date, but we all know it is not - Android 4.2.2 is old.
Samsung Kies refuses to upgrade the firmware with the message "gt-p5113 does not support initialising".
Is there a way to upgrade the Android version on this tablet (while still keeping it usable, obviously) ? Preferably without rooting, but I will root it if there is no other choice.
I am OK completely resetting it.

I have tried all suggestions in the answer and everything the asker did specified on [this question](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/75464/android-google-play-no-connection-error) without any luck. I reflashed GApps and CyanogenMod at least 13 times, as I have lost count. The only things that seem to be malfunctioning is Google Play. Although sync says it's having "errors" but it is syncing so I'm not sure what is going on there...
What is working:
- Google+
- Gmail
- Apps with the "login with Google" that uses the Google+ API
What's not working:
- Google Play
What's half working:
- Sync, it says it's having errors but it is syncing
System Details:
- CyanogenMod 10.1.3
- Android 4.2.2
- GApps for CyanogenMod 10.1
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5113)
/etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
I have the Xposed framework installed, but it's never caused problems before so I wouldn't think it would be a problem now. The time is as it should be, so it's not the problem. Cleared the cache and data on Google Play 37 times.
*P.S.: When I say "reflashed", I mean I wipe /system /cache and the dalvik cache and install GApps, CM 10.1.3 from zip in recovery.*
