I'm using Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 running on Cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly (Android 4.3.1) I already tried the adb shell pm set-install-location to SD card location. It made everything worst by thinking my empty 32GB micro SD was full. So I set it back to 0.

My friend has just dug out an old Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7.0. It looks like it hasn't been used in a long time, and hasn't been updated in years. It doesn't support TLS 1.2 and is missing updates to Trusted Root CAs. If I open Play Store it goes into a loop of "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped" messages and I have to reboot it. I've tried clearing all the cache data for Play Store and Play Services apps, but it hasn't helped. I did some searching about support for TLS 1.2 on Android 4.2.2 (which is what it's running) and found that it supports TLS 1.2 but is disabled by default. But every post I find about enabling this refers to doing so in the API while building an app, rather than on the device itself. Does anybody have any thoughts/ideas on how I can get some updates installed onto this device so that it'll start talking TLS1.2 ? Is there any http only site that I could download some updates from for example ? I did try going into About > Check for Updates but it says that it's already got the latest. I'm not too sure if this is just because it can't talk to any updates server or if it's correct. Seems like there'd have to be some way of supporting TLS 1.2 on these older devices ? Thanks in advance

I have a rooted Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (p3113) that has worked fine for over a year. After draining the battery completely out (which I have done many times before), I plugged it in to find it stuck in a boot loop. When I plug it in over USB or a normal outlet, it shows a battery with a frozen spinning dial in the center. It then shows the same battery icon that starts animating and filling itself for about a quarter second, before shutting down and doing the same thing all over again. I can't boot in to recovery or download mode (It doesn't get to that boot stage before shutting down), and the only way to stop the loop is to unplug it. It almost seems like the act of showing the charging icon is depleting the small store of battery and making it turn off. It is not on long enough to be recognized by my computer and so I can't do anything with that (no adb or fastboot). Is there anything else that I can do to get it to boot to recovery or stop booting on charge altogether? Or is it now just useful as a paperweight?

How to change the interface or positions of the home and back buttons after updating a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet?
My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 downloaded an update. Now, the buttons (home, back) on the bar are in the middle. Previously, they were postioned left. It's really uncomfortable. It seems that I received the "mobile user interface" instead of the tablet interface. How to do I change this?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" tablet (Android 4.1.2, not rooted). I tried to install a big app recently and it failed because it said that I didn't have enough space. When I go into Settings > Storage, this is what I see: 8GB - Total Space 2.83GB - Apps 199MB - Pictures, videos 116KB - Audio 18.69MB - Downloads 3.47GB - Miscellaneous files 1.14GB - Available space The 3.47GB for Miscellaneous files seems really odd to me. When I select the "Miscellaneous files" item, it says that most of the space (3.33GB) is being used for "System Memory" and the rest contains a number of small files. I have tried restarting it, cleaning out cache of various apps, and a lot of poking around with a file manager. I have also moved as many apps to SD Card as possible, but most of my apps don't support that function. I just can't understand what is taking up almost half the available storage space. Is this normal operating system stuff that can't be cleaned up? Is there a way to see what is contained within and clean some of that space up? If there is one particular app that is taking up a ton of "System Memory" space, then I might be willing to remove it. Note that I have looked at the applications through Application manager, sorted by size, and the largest app is only using 323MB of app space.

On my older Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (GT-P3100) with Android 4.1.2, which I only use for messaging, both calls and videocalls start to get laggier and laggier the longer the device is running. If I make a call immediately after rebooting the tablet, both audio and video are streamed perfectly to the other device, but, after some time, they start to get worse until the call drops, usually with the message "Call ended because there's a problem with your phone's microphone. Try restarting your phone and try again". Is there something I can do about it?

Although I have got an option for something like tilt scrolling in advanced settings but cannot find it useful any way even after enabling it. What may be the problem? Here are some links for screenshots related to stack tabs: ![screen shot](https://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz1bedusrQ1qz4gev.png) ![screen shot](https://i.sstatic.net/sbKtF.jpg) I cannot find the button which is marked in the second screenshot, Also the browser in my tab looks a lot like the desktop one, with extremely small tabs at the top. Specifically the 'x' button used to close each tab, which is a headache but I use it a lot. It would help me if I manage to get the stack tabs feature.

Title: Can Android perform surface analysis (Detection of bad sectors) on external SD Cards? **Reasons for asking:** 1. At one point, I found tons of old pictures and videos in the 'LostDir' folder. 2. My tablet and Windows 8 computer ocatilny fail to recognize the card for extended amounts of time. Often, however, and letting it sit for 1-4 months or less and plugging it in and then taking it out several time repeatedly it will start to work. 3. A couple of times, my tablet claimed the card was corrupted. 4. A friend's windows 7 computer was able to access shortly after both my Windows 8 computer and tablet couldn't read it. **Question** I would like to know if Android can do any of the following: - When reformatting an SD Card, can it detect bad sectors? - If it finds a bad sector, can it map around it, so that it does not affect the card. What if I reformatted it with separate software or a different OS? Also, are there any other ways to ensure the integrity of my Sd card? **System Information** OS: Android 4.2.2 Model: Samsung Galaxy tab 2 (Wifi) GtP3113 Age: About 6 years SD Card age: Between 4 and about 6 years.

I've googled this and turned up a bunch of inconclusive forum threads. I've also checked out a few similar questions on this site, but none of them quite match my details. So here they are: I have a Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) that's been working fine with my wifi router since I got it about 6 months ago. This morning when I fired it up, it rebooted and now I cannot connect to my wifi router. My wifi is not the issue as my Nexus 7 tablet is connected and working. This is what I see: - When I go to Settings > Wi-Fi, I see my network listed. But status is stuck on Obtaining IP address - After a while, status reports Network disabled. Poor connection Tablet also reports that a "Software Update" is ready. Not sure if this is related to the issue. But when I try to update, I get a confirmation page and when I hit confirm button, I get message Unable to connect network. I've tried the following: - Rebooting tablet - Forgetting and reconnecting to my network through Wi-Fi settings - Read this solution , but couldn't find Mobile Network Settings Here's some system data from my tablet: Model Number: GT-P3113 Android Version: 4.0.4 Kernel Version: 3.0.8-999349 Build Number: IMM76D.P3113UEBLH2 A simple solution would be appreciated. I'll post a solution if I figure it out myself. Thanks!
