Is there a method to record video chat app (Google Duo, Skype, Tango, etc.) straight to the phone?

I am trying to record all the video calls with my parents. However, every video chat app that I know does not support a recording option. I have tried 3rd-party screen recording apps but they did not work. It seems the screen recording app clashes with the video chat app for the microphone. So, all I get is a recorded video chat without sound, or a good recorded video chat but the person who I am calling cannot hear my voice. I searched everywhere and even contacted Google support but with no luck. Would it be possible, or would I have to wait for the video chat app to start supporting recording?

I connected an external webcam to my Android phone, and it works well with apps like "USB Camera." However, I'm having trouble finding a video call app that supports external webcams. I noticed that bjoster had a similar issue in a thread about 5 years ago, but since it's been a while, I decided to create a new thread. You can check out the previous discussion here: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/207672/how-to-use-external-otg-webcam-for-video-calls-conference-talks Has anyone managed to get it to work? If so, which app did you use? I've already tried the following apps without success: Teams Skype WhatsApp Messenger Google Meet Zoom I also attempted Webex, but it seems that only the old "Webex Meet" (or Meeting) app supports an external webcam. Unfortunately, I can't create a new meeting in the old app since I'm on the "new" Webex plan. Additionally, I can only get it to work using my webcam at work, not the one at home that I would prefer to use. The new Webex app lacks the external webcam feature. Another potential solution could be using an app like "USB Camera" and sharing my phone screen in a video calling app. However, it's a bit complicated, unreliable, and, most importantly, there's a noticeable lag. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see that most of the messaging apps that support video calls set the video quality automatically. WhatsApp, imo, Skype are the most famous examples. That is bad actually... I have a high-speed data connection. So the apps increase video quality to the best level. What is the result? Some hundred megabytes of data transfer during some 10 minutes and that means more money to pay. I don't want that. I prefer medium quality. What is the solution then? Any tweaks for the apps? Any other alternative messaging app?

The thing is that the light from the screen is troubling her to sleep, but when she locks the phone, the camera turns off. Is there anything I could do? Until recently, you could use discord with locked screen and the camera was working perfectly, but that changed last week, and now even video call on discord turns off when the screen is locked. Thanks!

I got a new Samsung phone (Galaxy A32 5G) and it has a "feature" that I find disappointing. I was in a video call with my grandmother, using Viber. When I switched to another app (I wanted to look up something on my calendar), the video stream automatically stopped. When I switched back to Viber, I was able to turn on my camera again, after some fumbling; my grandmother did not manage to turn on hers, although I cannot say if it really was impossible, or if she didn't find the right button. In any case, it greatly distressed my grandmother (who is very afraid of "breaking" something on her phone) and was also very unwelcome for me. On my old phone (Moto X4), when I switched between apps, Viber continued transmitting video. I think there was a small window still showing the other person, or maybe the other person just kept seeing me, and when I switched back, I saw them again. My questions are: - Is the problem related to the Samsung UI (the Moto X4 was, I believe, very close to a stock Android), or to the fact that the new phone uses a more recent version of Android? It is on Android 12, and I noticed that, when asking for permissions, it only lists the options "deny", "allow once" or "allow while the apps is running", but not just "allow" - maybe Viber loses camera permissions when I switch? - Is there a way to prevent this from happening? - If I cannot turn it off on this phone (or if turning it off requires rooting), would returning this phone and buying another one (e.g. a current model of a Motorola-brand phone) solve the problem?

I have ReSound hearing aids, tried them with different android devices, the latest is S21 ultra which has (Direct Android Streaming, a hearing aids bluetooth Functionality), which should be compatible with the hearing aids. When having an ordinary call, or streaming media, the sound comes from the hearing aid, (but not when having a video call in any app, that the sound in this case comes from the phone). May I ask if there is a solution for this problem? My best regards and thanks in advance.

I would like to leave a tablet on my shelf and be able to video call into it while away and talk/hear/see my home without anyone necessarily being there, just to be able to check in. I have looked for auto-answer settings in Skype and Hangouts. The situation is that I have a baby I'm going to leave in my home with her grandmother, and other sitters and relatives, and I don't want to have to teach them except to say that I'll check in via video sometimes. This way I shouldn't ever disturb the peace with phone ringtone sounds, nor have to wait for someone to pick up, nor have to wonder why they didn't pick up. Skype has auto-answer, but it doesn't turn on video from the receiver. What else can I try? I haven't installed *everything* in the Play store…

I encountered a somehow strange problem, which leaves me in the dark. I have a Samsung S10 connected to my local WLAN. When i call my relatives - whether voice or video call - my voice and video is not send to the other person. However, when i call my other phone - also connected to the local WLAN - everything just works fine. I disconnected the phone, deleted the WLAN connection, reinstalled WhatsApp and restarted the phone, but nothing seems to work. Calling my relatives from another phone also works just as expected. Does anybody know a solution or a something i could try?

If I make a call immediately after rebooting the tablet, both audio and video are streamed perfectly to the other device, but, after some time, they start to get worse until the call drops, usually with the message "Call ended because there's a problem with your phone's microphone. Try restarting your phone and try again". Is there something I can do about it?

When I'm using WhatsApp or Duo or any other VoIP calling app I've found so far, the phone (OnePlus 5T) seems to apply some automatic "echo cancellation" where it cuts out the other person's call if they're on speaker, every time I speak so I can't hear myself. This persists even for a second or two after I stop speaking, and can make me miss some of what the other party is trying to say as they are effectively "muted". I've tried turning off noise cancellation in the caller app without any change, and I can't find an option in WhatsApp or Duo. I've also only been able to test with the other person on an iPhone, so it may be on their end but if so is there a solution to disable it from their side? I don't mind being able to hear myself - I use earphones. Is there a way to disable this "echo-cancellation" feature? I am rooted if necessary.

I'm wondering if I will be able to receive video calls so that I can just see them or maybe show my primary camera (back of the phone; the only camera) to them? Also, if that was possible, can I toggle the camera off/on DURING the 3g call? And does "data packet" need to be enabled to receive 3G calls? EDIT: My device is Huawei IDEOS u8150 running Android 2.2 and if 3G video calls are not supported, can I find some custom ROM suitable for mine that can do this with the existing camera or some other workaround?

So, for a few days I have been having problems with my microphone on video call or call with loudspeakers. I tried Whatsapp video call, Whatsapp voice call with loudspeaker, Zoom, and Google Meet and the problems are same: my voice cannot go through, while I can hear other people's voice. I tried using mic checker app and both my microphones are fine. I also have tried recording video and audio and they both work just fine. I also have checked the applications' permission and they do have permission to use my microphone. Last time, I tried zoom meeting, and muted my **speaker**, and my voice went through. However, when I turn on my speaker again, my mic cannot pick up any sound. Is there a way I can fix this so that my speaker and my mic can be on at the same time?

I have an audio problem running Zoom for Android on TV Box. Details below: 1. I have successfully installed Zoom for Android on a TV Box which is then connected to a Samsung QLED TV. I also attached a Logitech camera to the TV Box. 2. I joined a Zoom meeting hosted by another account. The video function works OK. The host can see my video and I can see the host video on TV. 3. However, the audio is not working. There is no audio from the TV speaker (I already selected "call over the Internet" on the TV Box app) and there is an error message flashing on the host screen "XXXX is connected to audio but cannot hear you". I then connected a Logitech headset to the TV Box. There is no audio on the headset either, but no error message this time. 4. I have verified that both the TV box and the headset works well on Skype. Without a headset, I can hear Skype callers on TV speakers. With a headset, I can speak on the microphone and the caller on the other side can hear me, and I can hear the other caller from the headphone. 5. The TV box is X96Q using Allwinner H313 chipset. The software version is Android 10. Is there any workaround?

re.: How to enable video calls on Android smartphone ? In pre Android times it was easy to make video call on a standard phone, featuring small screen. Today video call functionality is not supported by most of makes, models of Android smartphones, for unknown reason. Ok, you need to establish 3G/ LTE data conectivity for video streaming as extra add-on- communication channel. Ok, I have 3G data transfer enabled and still no support for making video calls. I am not interested in third party video calling apps. I am aware, few smartphones by Samsung support video calling functionality. Is it due to licencing or for another reason. If video calling was supported by default 10 years ago and promoted at Barcelona Mobile Congress, so why today video calling in Android smartphones is not supported or disabled by 99% default. I read a lot on this subject on the Internet but all I need is to have video calling enabled in my smartphones and I can pay extra fee. Let me know your opinion and solution ( not interested in third party apps supporting 3G video calling) thank you BTW I was told (need to test it first) that Samsung 3G video calling enabled smartphone can video call my smartphone to enable 3G video calling on-the-fly, showing camera icon to click to pick up a call. If this is the case, so in theory, any Android smartphone can support 3G video calling ( 3G connection established and paid by third party) BTW2 I read related questions and answers one asked 8 years ago https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/10092/questions-regarding-receiving-3g-calls-on-my-ideos another asked 3 years ago https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/172824/how-to-video-call and still clear why no 3G video calling support on newer Android smartphones, since what is claimed: \ " what you are looking for is the operator backed 3G-324M solution that is available on most 3G phones (not including iPhone or Android).
