Why does Android have a call log limit for the call history?
I just noticed recently that Android limits the call log to 500 entries. This means many people will quickly lose their call history. I would like to know for what reason one would limit the call history.

Add phone number and note in Samsung Galaxy A72
My Samsung Galaxy A72 phone can add "notes" to phone numbers in my call log that do NOT have a contact associated with them. I want to add a lot of numbers to my block list and add notes to them, is this possible somehow with adb or with some sort of program (that I can write myself, if I have to)?

In earlier basic non-smartphones, you had an option in the call history where you could edit the number before calling. So I would just use that it would show me the entire number to edit then I add the zero of change the number if I have typed it wrong.
I just can't find this feature in Android I am searching for this on Google and it seems only those on Windows phones are missing this feature and have posted it in Android forums.

Assuming that I am not having a few permissions on the Contacts app but not sure what kind of permissions I should be granting.
So far, I have tried clearing the cache of the Phone app & Contacts app. Also ensuring that the Contact App & Phone App has storage access.

1. Is there a setting I can change to make Android show me the specific number used when receiving a call?
2. Is there a setting I can change to make Android show me the specific number used when browsing call history?
3. In the absence of such a setting as asked for in no. 2 above, is there some other way when browsing call history to tell what number was used for a call?

Any idea what could be wrong? I seem to be having the "Phone by Google" app installed and presumably that's my dialer.
I tried clearing the cache for that app. Anything else I should be trying?

Incoming call notifications not working - Phone state
In my Android phone, Incoming calls notification is not working.Out going is working fine. Actually Whenever I am calling my mobile from my friend's mobile, Its saying "line is busy". If I visit call logs in my mobile, I can see My friend's number in the log. I was having this issue for past 4 days....

I was having this issue for past 4 days.
Thankfully, I checked the logfile(log.txt which resides in phone memory somewhere. I guess its the log of the whole phone) of my phone. In that file I can see the following log message 5 times like below.
Phonestate: Incoming call notify is disabled

Phonestate: Incoming call notify is disabled
Phonestate: Incoming call notify is disabled
I guess, I have to change this phone state, I dont know how to change that. Can u help me out?

To obtain time and number of recent calls, I got to the phone app, tap "recent" on the bottom, and see a list of incoming and outgoing calls with phone number and time. However, if it was the same phone number several times consecutively, it shows only the last time, and the number of calls in brackets: "phone_number (3) 12:34".
Is there a way to get a list of *all* calls *individually* (for *all* numbers, even if several times the *same* number consecutively).
(I know I can tap a line, hit "i", and see the whole list of calls for *only this* number.)
I prefer a native solution, but if a 3rd party app should be necessary, I prefer clean (as few rights as possible, no advertising, possibly open source) over "for free".

There are a lot of questions asking about unlimited call log. I have the exact opposite problem: I want no call log at all in the software.
Even with a phone with "pocket detection" and a complicated swipe pattern, I still happen to randomly call a number who called me previously and that I do not want to call (clients who do not see my number when they call me : I do not want them to have *my* number). For instance because of inadvertent manipulation, drop of water on the screen making the touch detection put my finger where it isn't, etc...
I do not care about privacy issues, I just do not want to have any way to reach a call log with phone numbers from the UI.
Is there any way to achieve that with android ? Maybe with a third-party phone app ?
