Here are some rooting links I found for my phone: * https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887 * https://theunlockr.com/2013/10/25/root-lg-g2-versions-video/ * https://web.archive.org/web/20161224210036/https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_d800 requires ioroot: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869 The latter one refers to Kingo Root (its Web of Trust says XDA does not recommend it until it goes open source due to some suspicious activities, such as sending IMEI to the server) Which of these is safer than the others? Also, there was a manual way to root via ADB, or if there was source code, or if there was a reputable, trustworthy site to download from, I'd be feeling much more secure. I am a Java developer, new to Android development, but it's something I want to learn, so programmatic solutions are welcome.

How can you find which carrier a LG D803 is locked to?

And I dont think he had an app or anything. His phone was a day old, and he hadnt really used it because it didnt work correctly, so we were replacing the phone he had with a new one. Any tips??

In Storage menu it says I have * total space of 24.12Gb * 649Mb available * 6.63Gb for apps * 1.65Gb of cached datay * 5.85Gb of Misc The app in question in App Info has * Total 859Mb * App 19.80Mb * Data 839Mb * Cache 37.93Mb The app also forces other apps out of memory (it seems) -- when I run the app, another apps that plays music seems to shut off and crash and I have to restart it. What app manufacturer told me: "fresh install is the best solution" (I understand it as delete the app, reinstall it, or maybe just reinstall it if that's possible). That means also that all my in-app messages (a lot of them) will be lost. What I want: Fast app, fast phone. What I am thinking: I am considering backing it up and doing a factory reset. I will lose basically everything. It's like getting a new phone. Question: what are some actions I can do to not lose everything and to speed up my apps again? Stuff I really want to keep are SMS + MMS, and I know that is possible. I also want to keep Viber messages, and other in-app messages, but I know it's probably not possible without rooting phone. Rooting my current LG G2 using various methods failed, so I gave up on that.

Although it flashes and I am able to enter into TWRP, the phone got stuck at LG Logo and the only option left is to flash a kdz through LG Flash Tool again. I have searched for it on several forums but was unable to find the answer. Also, I have tried several apps from Play Store as well. How can I flash **TWRP** or **CWM** which work 100%?

I've been having problems with my gallery and music app on my lg g2. I recently initiated a factory-rest on my phone and I wanted to download an image to see if it would work appropriately, but it refuses to create a "Download" folder and put it in there. They still download and I can open them manually by tapping on them, but the gallery itself doesn't create a folder to place it in. I poked around on my computer with the usb connection with my charger, and I don't see anything wrong. Something notable though, is I did delete the .nomedia folder before I factory-reset, but it appears to have returned. The files even show up in the folder, but they're not able to be viewed by the gallery app. I'm using the default one that came with the phone, and I have tried many solutions, but to no avail. If there's a solution anyone can recommend to me, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Whenever I try and add the EE settings and then save them, the APN list remains blank. How can I add my carriers APN settings? I have tried: 1. Installing APN backup & restore app, setting as a system app in Titanium Backup and moving to the priv-app folder. Then deleting all APNs, resetting the phone. Still can't add an APN. 2. Creating a basic APN record, without all of the settings. That saves so that I can see it in APN list screen but when I update the record to include all of the settings it disappears again. 3. Looking at the apns-conf.xml file. There are loads of settings in here, but I'm not sure what this file does.

After rooting my new G2 and tinkering with some XPosed modules I am now stuck in horrible bootloop limbo. My phone starts, shows the LG splash screen, plays the AT&T startup sound, and starts the boot animation. The boot animation slows down and freezes after a few seconds, and after a few minutes the sound plays again and the animation starts over ad infinitum. I didn't bother installing a custom recovery like an idiot, factory reset doesn't seem to do anything, I can't adb in when I'm in download mode, and I can't find a stock KDZ for a d800. Please help me!

Is there any way to get an **LG G2** (running the latest version of stock software, Lollipop 5.0.2) in **fastboot mode**? None of the methods listed anywhere online work for me. I'm getting the feeling that it's not an option on this device, but I've heard no definitive confirmation of that. Here's what I've tried and has not helped: - Turning the device off, holding down power and volume down buttons, releasing them when the LG logo displays, and holding them down again to power up. This brings the phone into Factory data reset mode, in which the only option is to Erase all user data & restore default settings. - Turning the device off, holding the volume up, and plugging a connected USB cable into the phone. This brings the phone into Download Mode. - adb reboot fastboot. This reboots the phone normally. - adb reboot bootloader. This also reboots the phone normally. (If you're wondering why I need to get into Fastboot: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/110325/how-to-clear-caches-in-lg-g2-running-lollipop-5-0-2.) To be clear, I mean that fastboot devices lists nothing when I do any of the above methods. But adb is working.

The Lollipop update for AT&T LG G2 has pretty much destroyed my phone. I'm hoping clearing out every sort of cache might help. But I can't clear the caches the usual ways because (1) the Settings app always crashes when I am in the section where you clear app caches, as does any other app that is made for clearing caches, and (2) restarting into recovery doesn't provide options for clearing any caches. Plus, I'm curious about how to clear ART caches since I haven't found much information about them online. By the way, my phone is not rooted. So, the question is: How do I clear (1) app caches, (2) individual apps' caches, (3) Dalvik cache (if applicable anymore), and (4) ART cache under these restraints? I'm thinking I'll have to do something via adb, but I can't find info anywhere on how to do it. Thanks for any help you can provide!

My goal was to clear the system cache, *not* to perform a hard reset. Unfortunately, the recovery mode is in Korean (I suppose): Recovery Mode in Korean As I cannot read the options, I am afraid of accidentally deleting all my data. Can anyone tell me which option refers to "clear cache"? Or, if this option does not exist, is one of the options "abort/exit"? The main goal is to leave this screen without erasing my user data. In case this should be relevant: I think the phone uses Lollipop, but (for obvious reasons) I cannot check this at the moment.

So please help me and also tell that if I need a new SIM for 4G. Also is I need then at least my device should show LTE option because it is written on its box 100% LTE.

My boyfriend purchased a USB OTG cable so he can play Android games with an Xbox 360 wired controller. When he plugs the Xbox controller into his LG G2 nothing happens, I plugged it into my Samsung Galaxy S4 and it worked immediately. His LG G2 recognizes a flash drive, keyboard and mouse right away so we know the cable is working just fine. What could be causing the Xbox controller to not work? The AT&T LG G2 is rooted running 4.2.2 with stock ROM. The Keylayout file vendor_045e_product.028e.kl used for the Xbox 360 wired controller was already on the phone. Running the app titled "USB Device Info" with the Xbox 360 wired controller plugged in shows the controllers info in both the Android and Linux tabs. The device seems to recognize everything it's supposed to but won't work with any games or emulators. It wont even allow the controller to navigate the home screen.

Until until yesterday, my LG G2 smartphone worked beautifully. All of a sudden, for no apparent reason (no drops or indication of damage), this occurred. [enter image description here](https://i.sstatic.net/gGYkt.jpg) Click for full size image Clear horizontal and vertical lines appear across the screen. Note how the very top is perfectly fine, and gets worse towards the bottom of the phone. I am willing to buy a replacement screen an replace the entire part. I have some experience in fixing electronics, and there are lots of nice online tutorials. However, since there was no damage to it whatsoever (it sat on a desk overnight), I began to wonder whether it was the screen at all. *Is there any method or software to diagnose whether my screen or other parts of my phone are defective, other than buying a new screen and trying it out?*

I found a big issue in my LG G2 proximity sensor. During a phone call the screen doesn't turn off and the automatic screen lightness doesn't work. This problems happened many times a day. I also tried to do an hard reset but I got the same issue just after the reset reboot (without any app). Sometimes also the gravity sensor holds (screen doesn't turn), but this not so often as proximity sensor problem. I installed a sensor test app and this app doesn't work too (sometimes got data sometimes not). What can it be? Firstly I thought about an software problem, after the hard reset I thought an hardware problem, but it is very strange all this trouble on a 2month old phone. These problems started 2 weeks ago. Is there in android a system log or something like this?
