Reading data IE: Contact #s and data without data loss on motorola phones that have a screen pin lock? (WhiteHat)

I work in a facility where my boss asked me to see if I can locate a specific number in 2 identical locked Motorola phones because they are now deceased and there was a computer left behind. We know with almost 99% certainty that it is who they say they are but we would like to cororbererate the number of the individual in question with the # in his or her phone. And as I said before both phone owners are now deceased and there is a pin lock on each phone. Is there any suggested free forensic software available out there or another way possibly to extract the data without loss? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my old telephone, I had an app called "DND toggle" which did just that - toggled the state of Do Not Disturb, and I found it very useful; I linked it to a programmable button for easy access. I bought a new phone (same manufacturer) and requested transfer of all apps and settings. "DND toggle" was not transferred, and it seems to have disappeared from Play Store. It is not listed under Play Store > Manage apps & device, but it **is** listed on the old phone under Settings > App info. Nor can I find a similar app. Is there any way of transferring the app? I still have the old phone. Edit 15jan On advice from @IsHacker I extracted the APK on the old phone and installed it on the new phone. I had to override a warning about privacy, but it installed OK and now works.

Not sure if this has been asked before. I would like to move my WhatsApp installation and chats to my new phone and I would like to keep the same number associated with it, but I don't want to move the SIM with the old number into the new phone. Everything I have read online about moving WhatsApp to new phone seems to apply only to one of two options, taking the old SIM into the new phone, or changing the number on the account to match the SIM in the new phone. I know this is possible because I have seen French people using WhatsApp with their old French number from years back, but when I call them on their local number, that rings the phone on which the installation sits (not dual SIM)

*Perhaps this question is too specific, but I am also interested in the more general question of where Android stores hidden/system files, especially user data that would be helpful to transfer to another device.* The specific question is about the game Ridiculous Fishing. It would be nice to be able to transfer my progress to another Android device. Just plugging the phone into my computer, I can see the following directories, but there are no files in them: /Android/data/com.vlambeer.RidiculousFishing.humble/cache /Android/obb/com.vlambeer.RidiculousFishing.humble *Device in question is a Samsung Galaxy S9+, running Android 10. But I have also run this game on other devices such as the Google Pixel (Android 9) and had the same problem finding user data files.* Is there any way to backup or transfer the configuration files for this game? Are there other locations that can be searched?

Is there a way to prevent any USB data transfer for locked Samsung devices?
Just like iPhones are pretty hard to get into once they are locked, due to USB being completely disabled, is there something similar for Samsung, or any Android at all? This prevents many exploits from being applied to a locked device. What about prevent from entering DFU mode or any similar mode?

Three weeks ago I got myself a new phone and transferred my WhatsApp data to it. My old phone was a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and the new one is a OnePlus 12. Initially I tried to do this by using the 'Transfer chats' feature as described here , but it kept failing every time after it got to something like 98-99% done, so after some 5 odd tries, I gave in and used a Google account to back up by WhatsApp data and transfer it to the new phone that way. It did work, but only later did I realize that my WhatsApp stickers don't work properly on my new phone. When I navigate to the stickers section, this is what it looks like:

And this is what happens when I click on any of these stickers:

When I favourite new stickers though, they show up as usual:

I did take a look at the Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Stickers folder and it seems all the sticker files are present there. I just have no clue why the stickers aren't working properly in the app. I still have access to my old phone, if that is needed. I'll be really grateful if anyone can help me out here. It's really bothersome to chat with people without these stickers. Thanks.

My current phone (Samsung Galaxy POP) running Android 2.2 has all its data including contacts and messages stored in the SD card + SIM card. However, the touch screen of that phone has been damaged, so the phone is unusable now on its own. I have purchased a new phone (Sony Xperia SL) online which runs Android 4.0 and does not have an SD card slot, it only has an internal memory. Since my old phone is practically unusable, I'll probably have to connect it to my PC, back up my data, and transfer it to the new phone. How do I transfer all my data including contacts and text messages from my old phone to my new phone? Could somebody guide me on how to back up my data between phones by using the PC as a medium? I tried looking up on Google for help and could not find any good solutions for this issue.

I know it sounds like a recurring topic, but I would really like to know how to modify the contents of the Data folder in Android 14. I am currently using a Xiaomi 14T that has HyperOS (1.0.8.0.UNEMIXM) and Android 14 UP1A.231005.007. I have used tools like Shizuku and they have not worked for me, nor can I get that menu to appear to give permissions to a certain file explorer, since the Data folder simply does not appear. For example, I have used Super File Manager Explorer, which allows me to see the Data folder, and all the content of the applications but it does not let me edit, delete or add anything. I do not want to become an expert in programming, because I am not, therefore I will not try to move or do strange processes that can damage my device, also I do not want to Root it because I have no idea how to do it, nor because of the issue of updating it manually and that method is known to leave smartphones in a loop, so Root is not an option. Does anyone know of a safe way to edit the data folder? I'm not very experienced in this area, but I thought of deleting the default "Files" app on the device, but I'm sure that would cause more than one problem. As I said, Shizuku didn't work for me with either the wireless or wired method.

I have used a specific app for more than three years (writing down my dreams and updating a sleep statistic). Now this app is all of a sudden gone from the Play store, and the developer is unreachable. I've always known that it is problematic that this app doesn't have an export feature or anything (like many others), but without having specific Android knowledge, I always thought: It's on my device, I will be able to find and extract it somehow. Well, I found out that the app stored the data in a SQLite database in the internal data folder, i.e. in /data/data//. I am runnning Android 13 and rooting is of course not an option as this will wipe the phone data, as I understand. I tried accessing the files via adb from my Linux laptop but I cannot cd into it, "permission denied". I also read that these data are encrypted. Is there any way to access these data (from another device, if needed?)

Can a Xiaomi Poco-M6-Pro sync notes from Mi-Cloud what I made on my Xiaomi Redmi 9A with all images in the notes intact?
After long discussions with my IT friend He told me about this model. So I will replace my 9A 2GB RAM with a Poco-M6-Pro 12GB RAM 512GB Dual SIM soon. My question is do they share the same built-in notes app and can my notes sync over from the 9A to the M6 Pro from Mi-Cloud?

Sadly, I can't back up this game on a cloud unlike some other modded apps I have, so any suggestions is welcome. Thanks :)

Last night, I was setting up data transfer from my wife's OnePlus 7 to Pixel 8. After the usual process of Bluetooth enabling and scanning the QR code, the data transfer started. After a while, I noticed this warning on OnePlus 7: Image > This device may be disconnected from Wi-Fi temporarily. If you turn it back on, your transfer may stop or take longer. This is very confusing and counter-intuitive to me. From what I understand, Bluetooth is for enabling device identification (including QR), and subsequent data transfer is through Wi-Fi (both devices are on the same network). **Why should data transfer stop or take unduly long, if Wi-Fi is re-connected (and why should it be disconnected?)?** I have a fairly stable connection at home, if that matters.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 inner screen has a problem and I got a replacement. Same phone. I can't transfer my messages from WhatsApp on the old phone. It seems my backup to Google hasn't worked for 5 months. I can't seem to back up. I select the backup feature, and it requests for me to log in to Google with my fingerprint. I do, and then I get a grey-on-white band with a backing-up sign, but nothing seems to happen. No spinning icon, just nothing. I had to switch my WhatsApp back onto my old phone (which still has the messages). It also seems the Google account associated with WhatsApp on each phone may be different and I'm not sure how to adjust that.
