A colleague of mine had his e-mail messages deleted from their e-mail account by accident. This happened quite a few weeks ago so he did not notice this until now. By now all the backups of his e-mail account already do not contain these messages anymore.
But he did not check his e-mail on his mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra) and so his mobile e-mail client (Samsung email app) did not sync with the IMAP server. We have disabled the sync, so he can see the older e-mails in his Samsung Galaxy S23. The question now is, how to get these e-mails from this app? There are more than 5000 emails on the phone.
We would like not to have to root the phone to get this done. Does anybody know how we can get his e-mails from the phone? Even if they do not have attachments, that is no problem.
We tried using ADB for the backup of com.samsung.android.email.provider, but his does not seem to work - the backup file is empty. We tried My Backup app, but this still has not finished the backup process so I do not know if this will work or not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used the default Samsung Email app that came with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10. I provided the IMAP details to get emails on my phone. I got rid of the paid account before I got the new phone. I don't have that account anymore.
I can fully open and read all incoming and outgoing. It is doing this while offline, with no wifi or mobile data. Tech support says to screenshot them, but I don't have time since it has too many emails.
How can I transfer the old emails from the old phone to a new phone or to a PC? Any suggestions?

I've been through several threads on Stack Exchange / XDA to find a solution that yet eludes me for the following task :
As we all know, when we create an email account with our Android device and use the default email app, in my case **Samsung Email**, the synchronized emails are stored on our phone, in my case (**rooted** Samsung Galaxy S7 edge - Android 7.0), in this location:
The idea, from what I have read, is to back up all those folders and the databases stored within them with ADB and then use SQLite tools to convert the databases into usable/readable information.
The problems I have encountered until now:
- when I use ADB backup function, the stored backup is less than 1kb size, meaning the backup didn't work, this can be the result of the wrong app name or no
/data/data/com.samsung.android.email.provider/
with folders :

Allow_Backup
Flag on that app (system app)
- I have used several tools to get the exact name of the app, in my case com.samsung.android.email.provider
or com.samsung.android.email.provider-1
but still no result
- I have tried to use the backup -all
command, and that's how I realized some apps were not backed up in the resulting file, including the email app for my device.
- I have read that in order to backup an app, it needs to have the ALLOW_BACKUP
flag, and the app (system app) does not have that flag
What do you think? what should I do from here?
(Important: the idea is to extract/backup the whole mailboxes and be able to access the contents of these mailboxes on a Windows/Mac mail client. I have no use for the 'export email to file (.eml)' available in the Samsung app, as that would require to do it for each email one by one).

How to remove Samsung native email app from Galaxy S2?
I only use the Gmail app. It's annoying to have the email icon always popping aside from the Gmail icon in every contact of my phone when I only use Gmail. Is there a way to uninstall or wipe the Samsung email app/client from Galaxy S2? I just can't find a way to take it off my phone.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S III and I use the stock Samsung email application and widget (which also comes stock on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2).
I have four Gmail accounts linked to my phone and I have all four Gmail accounts configured for use with my stock Samsung email app (this is different than the Gmail app available on the Play Store).
IMAP is enabled in my Google accounts and all settings match those recommended by Google.
However, when I send an email from my phone, the message doesn't appear in the sent folder, on my phone. Oddly enough, the message does appear in the sent folder on my PC when viewing Gmail in Chrome.
I believe that this error is related to Google's 2-step verification security settings. I remember having this problem about six months ago and that was about the last time I had 2-step security active. I don't remember how I fixed the problem, but it hasn't been an issue for a while. But since that was about the same time I tried (and then gave up on) 2-step verification, I'm guessing that this is the issue.
I recently enabled 2-step verification, then I had a problem with my email, then I turned off 2-step verification, and then the problem went away.
I am well familiar with application-specific passwords and I have set them up (properly, to the best of my knowledge). I also have Google's Authenticator app, and have used that when required.
I believe there is a bug in Samsung's email app that prevents outgoing mail from being saved in the sent folder when 2-step verification is active.
However, if anyone knows for sure what causes this, and whether or not there is a fix for it, I would greatly appreciate any help.

Where do I find emails sent from the Samsung Mail App using a POP3 Mail Account?
I have a Samsung Smartphone with a POP3 Mail Account on the Samsung Standard Mail App. I need the Emails I've sent with this account in my new Exchange Account **on another device**? I think I may be able to transfer them if I find where they are stored on my phone. Any ideas?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Android 9, One UI 1.0) and am using Samsung's Email app (which comes preloaded on Samsung phones) to access my work email.
Recently, I went abroad and had to rely on various Wi-Fi connections (hotels, airports, etc) for Internet connectivity. Suddenly, I started getting an error when I launched the Email app, which said:
> **Certificate not secure for *[my email address]***
>
> The certificate isn't from a trusted authority.
>
> If you continue with this certificate, your emails and account may be at risk.
The error keeps popping up if I click on "Cancel".
If I click on "View", all the important fields related to the Security Certificate are shown as totally blank, so it is difficult to know which certificate is causing the problem:
Since this happened, the email is not syncing now, i.e. I am now unable to send or receive new emails from the app.
I googled a lot to resolve this problem and the two main solutions were (though I have no idea how well any of these would work):
1. Uninstall the Email app and re-install it. But I don't want to go down such a drastic route without getting to the bottom of the problem.
2. Find the offending certificate (Settings > Biometrics and Security > Other security settings > View security certificates) and delete that certificate. However, my problem is, that the Email app is not showing the details of the offending certificate.
What is going on here and how do I resolve it? Have some "rogue" certificates been installed by those free Wi-Fi connections I used recently? If so, how harmful could those be and how do I get rid of them? Hopefully nothing serious!
And how do I get my Email app to work normally again?

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and the mail app is Samsung Email version 6.1.75.0. I have created folders on my Android mail app and moved email into them. These folders are not syncing correctly with my mail client I run on the PC (outlook) and are also not visible in the web-based mail portal.
If I create a folder on the phone mail app called 'A1' for instance, it does not sync or appear on any of my other IMAP mail platforms. If I then create a folder using the mail client or web portal called 'A1', it changes the name to 'A1 1' and syncs to the phone correctly. It's as if IMAP knows about the synced folder 'A1' as it won't let me duplicate it, but it is also invisible on the other platforms.
Any ideas?
